A 44-year-old British man who was born without a penis is getting himself ready to have sex for the first time after doctors have been able to surgically fit a bionic manhood for him. Andrew Wardle from Manchester was born with bladder exstrophy, a condition said to be suffered by one-in-20-million people. He has not been able to sleep with his longtime girlfriend, Fedra Fabian, but hopefully, after a six month grace period doctors advised him to wait, he will finally break his virginity. Reports say Andrew had attempted to commit suicide in 2012, but that was foiled after he had been referred to Dan Wood, a consultant urologist at UCLH in London. Now that he is finally going to enjoy life like any other man, one would have expected that Andrew would have been elated, but having sex seems to be the least of his priorities now. Man born without penis prepares to have sex for the first timeplay He said: “I’m very excited that I can move on now. But I think having sex for the first time is more of a big deal for everyone else than it is for me. “I’ve spent 44 years without a penis and I’ve coped with not having sex for all that time. It will take me a while to get in the swing of things. “Of course, I’m looking forward to it. But, for me, it’s not the be-all-and-end-all. It’s a by-product of the operation. It will enable me to feel part of society.” It is excusable of Andrew to not prioritise sex now, but he may have a change of mind after using his £50,000 penis for the first time. For now, Andrew is in pain and must wait to until he is healed before he can have good unprecedented time with Fedra Fabian. He said: “I’m feeling good because they’ve given me painkillers but I’m sure I will feel a bit sore later on. I do feel different. I’m very aware there’s some robotics inside me but it feels a part of me now. I’m very aware that I am half-human half-robot at the moment. I’m like the bionic man. I will even be able to perform if I am drunk.” http://wepublicisenaija.com/140328/british-man-born-without-penis-set-to-have-sex-for-the-first-time.html

The report, released on Wednesday, ranked Nigeria 148 out of the total 163 countries surveyed. Iceland is the most peaceful country, closely followed by New Zealand and Austria while Syria is ranked least peaceful, coming after Afghanistan and South Sudan respectively. In Sub-Sahara Africa, Nigeria is ranked 40 out of 44 countries, with Mauritius topping the list, while South Sudan is ranked least. According to the report produced by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), global level of peace has deteriorated by 0.27 percent in the last year, marking the fourth successive year of deterioration. It also said the world is “less peaceful today than at any time in the last decade”. It added that 92 countries deteriorated, while only 71 improved. Nigeria is one such countries, up one place from its 2017 ranking of 149. In 2016, Nigeria was pegged at 149, while the figure was 151 for both 2015 and 2014. The report said the global economic impact of violence was $14.76 trillion PPP in 2017, equivalent to 12.4 percent of global GDP, or $1,988 per person. The report covers 99.7 percent of the world’s population and uses 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators from “highly respected sources” to compile the index. These indicators are grouped into three key domains: ‘ongoing conflict’, ‘safety and security’, and ‘militarisation’. All three domains deteriorated over the last year. “There’s been a gradual decline in peacefulness over the last decade,” said Steve Killelea, head of IEP. “The reason for this slow, gradual decline in peacefulness really comes back to the conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa, and the spillover effects into other areas.” http://wepublicisenaija.com/111962/nigeria-ranked-16th-least-peaceful-country-in-the-world.html |

A day-old baby girl has been found dead in a water channel on Miracle Road, Ifite-Awka, in the Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The corpse was discovered by residents in the early hours of Tuesday. A resident, who pleaded anonymity, told Pumch that the baby belonged to an undergraduate of a tertiary institution in the state. She said, “We woke up today (Tuesday) to see the baby girl in the water channel. The corpse was dumped elsewhere, but rainfall pushed it down to the junction due to the sloppy nature of the land. “I suspect an undergraduate student who comes to buy things from my shop. At a point, she looked like somebody that was pregnant. Recently, I saw her looking pale. This is a sign that the world is coming to an end.” Another resident, simply identified as Agatha, warned young girls against killing innocent babies, saying such actions could have “disastrous consequences” in the future.. She further called on relevant government authorities to dispose of the corpse before it constituted environmental hazard. When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Nkeiruka Nwode, said the matter had not been reported to her office http://wepublicisenaija.com/98426/omg-a-one-day-old-baby-found-dead-in-anambra-water-channel/ |

HIV is real, deadly and unimaginable but at the same time, it should never be treated as a death sentence as infected people can still live happily. If you’re HIV-negative or don’t know your HIV status, and in the last 72 hours you think you may have been exposed to HIV during s*x (for example, if the condom broke), shared needles and works to prepare drugs (for example, cotton, cookers, water), or were s*xually assaulted, talk to your health care provider or an emergency room doctor about PEP right away. PEP should be used only in emergency situations and must be started within 72 hours after a recent possible exposure to HIV. It is not a substitute for regular use of other proven HIV prevention methods, such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), which means taking HIV medicines daily to lower your chance of getting infected; using condoms the right way every time you have s*x; and using only your own new, sterile needles and works every time you inject. PEP is effective, but not 100%, so you should continue to use condoms with s*x partners and safe injection practices while taking PEP. These strategies can protect you from being exposed to HIV again and reduce the chances of transmitting HIV to others if you do become infected while you’re on PEP. What is PEP? PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) means taking antiretroviral medicines (ART) after being potentially exposed to HIV to prevent becoming infected. Where can you get it? You can get it for free at any government run hospital. Instead of dying of anxiety you can help prevent a lifetime of taking pills by taking PEP for 30 days. The side effects could be nasty for some people while some do not experience any side effect at all. Then he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – music. He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace. Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight. – The difference between Bsc/HND graduates has been put to an end by the federal government – Winifred Oyo-Ita, the Head of Service of the Federation (HOCSF) on Sunday, April 22 issued a circular containing the presidency’s resolve on the age-long disparity – The Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE) urged government at all levels to set up monitoring groups to see that the decision is implemented Beneficiaries of President Muhammadu Buhari’s cancellation of the difference between university and polytechnic graduates in the civil service have praised him for his actions. While the disparity had before now restricted polytechnic graduates to certain Salary Grade Level (SGL) in the civil service, it took the intervention of the National Council on Establishment (NCE) to address and solve the issue in their favour, Daily Trust reports. Winifred Oyo-Ita, the Head of Service of the Federation (HOCSF), in a statement dated Monday, March 26, relayed the the decision of the NCE to all concerned and solicited their support for implementation. The circular indicated that NCE approved entry point of SGL 08 for HND holders in the civil service. It also encouraged serving HND officers to fulfil all specified conditions as contained in scheme of service and extant rules for career progression beyond SGL 14. Ahmad Yabagi, the head of the umbrella body of the beneficiaries, the Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE), informed journalists on Sunday, April 22 in Abuja, that the decision has paved the way for career building. Yabagi said: “We are glad that this monster called dichotomy that has been a big threat to the development of technology in Nigeria has been defeated. NATE has therefore resolved to support and partner with the Federal Government in the quest to bequeath entrepreneurial skills to Nigerian youths as a means to turn around the economic fortune of Nigeria.” Yabagi, however, advised all government agencies to see that the resolve contained in the circular is implemented throughout the country. Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that Dr Ramon Adedoyin, the executive chairman of the Polytechnic, Ile-Ife, had called for the outright scrapping of the Higher National Diploma (HND) programme, and its replacement with a Bachelor’s degree in Technology, as obtainable in advanced countries. Adedoyin made his comments during a chat with newsmen; against the backdrop of the federal government’s recent removal of the dichotomy between the holders of HND and university degrees.
