Nigerian U20 won African Championship but the coach Manu Garba left most of the guys that won that cup for him and began to field some known players who hardly played together with the winning team and that's the reason we flopped in this tournament. Despite Iheanachos success during U17, he has no business wiith this U20 Team right now since he is recovering from injury and had not played with the team. Nigeria lost it in their 1st march with Brasil and that put us to the wrong track, though Garba realized it but it was too late. This was the same mistake that Keshi made during the Confederation cup and world cup dropping even the Sunday Mba that won the Nation cup for Nigeria. Keshi's own was worse cos he made the same mistake 2 times. Lesson: do not change the winning team. The African Championship winner team would have won this U20 world cup. Nigerian coaches should learn to use the same team that qualify them for the tournament, Any player that wants to go for a particular tournament should work hard during the qualifying series or risk dropping out |

Politics / Re: Monthly/ Yearly "Security Votes" Appropriation Of State Governors by winnieG1(m): 7:18am On Jun 09, 2015 |
No state should be owing any civil servant #1, If the governors cannot sacrifice a fraction of their security vote to pay the workers, then they need to be stoned. imagine that Osun state governor owing workers #2B while he receives #400M as security votes every month. if this man has sacrificed #200M/month since January 2015, he would have paid half of the salary owed to these suffering workers.Even if he owes #20B, that would have been taken care of since the past 4.5years he has been the governor. Giving the governors such an exobitant fund in the name of security vote is the reason they do not care for the security of the masses. Buhari and his team should do something about the secirity vote fund allocated to these inhumane and reduce it to atmost 20% of the current status. Meanwhile Osun workers and indigens should enjoy the change you voted for. 1 Like |

Pastor abeg mind ur business, when peps were shouting for change, those osun workers and indigens mistook it to be changing from PDP to APC , little did they know its about changing from bad governance to good governance. they should deal with it so next 4 years, they will stop being Party bigots and vote someone who will perform irrespective of his party affiliation. I still wonder how those workers and the indigens voted to governor who was already owing them over 6months salary at the expense of their stomach. |

She said the sect reminded her of the unfortunate pogrom of the 1960s, when Hausas where killing the Igbos. She recalled that to identify an Igbo person, the Hausas would ask a suspect to pronounce ‘toro’ (three pence), which could only be pronounced then by Yoruba-speaking persons. The Igbos could not pronounce it and that often betrayed their identity. “Those are days better forgotten,” she said. Going by her story, Ojukwu was right going for the 1966 war, No leader will see this kind of hatred on his people and the killings and still opt to coexist. Its quite unfortunate the truth of Nigerian civil war is gradually coming out. if he didn't do what he did, most of the Igbo generations could have been wiped out by now. Buhari has a lot of work to do if he actually want to properly integrate igbos into Nigeria. The hatred on Igbos by his people dated back before Nigerian independence in 1960 and that is why the average igbo man does not believe in One Nigeria hogwash. |

cabaliciouscabal: I disagree totally with your opinion. Can' t u see the handwriting on the wall? This same governor Shettima failed to confirm to the presidency that there was truly abduction of Chibok girls for more than one week after the incidence, yet he was the governor and chief security officer of the state. he obviously did that so that they will cover up all effort to locate the girls. This same man is calling for amnesty for BH. I was not a fan of GEJ but nobody should hold GEJ responsible for BH on-slaughter since this is what the governor want. where were him when GEJ wanted to offer amnesty to BH? It's obvious there is an agenda they want to use BH to achieve up north, more reason they made this man the Chairman of the Northern Governors forum. Buhari should be very careful with these people, Nigeria is sitting on a time bomb and if not properly handled will explode anytime. They think the Southerner's will just fold their arms if Buhari start playing to their script. 7 Likes |

OP , you are wrong with Anambra Anambra is derived from Omambala river. Just like Nigeria derived her name as area surrounding River Niger, In Igbo dialect, Ana = land and the land/ area surrounding Omambala River is Anambala. the core Anambrarians pronounce it as Anambala but to westernize the name, Nigeria pronouced it as Anambra. Just ask average Anambrarian to pronouce the name of their state and you will be marveled at what you hear. 2 Likes |

oneeast1: Stop Man, u've never been to Onitsha and do not realize that Onitsha is the commercial Capital of West Africa, maybe u do not realize why Anambra State is the only viable state in Nigeria, the kind of revenue generated by Onitsha and Nnewi is enormous for govt. If Obiano tries this in some major express roads apart from the 3 I mentioned above, the kind of gridlock that will hit Onitsha alone, Oshodi gridlock will be a child's play, |
Politics / Re: Anambra Govt Bans Motorcycles & Tricycles On Highways by winnieG1(m): 2:23pm On May 27, 2015 |
If the Major Highways the state government is talking about are only 1. Odumegwu Highway,(Head bridge to Upper Iweka, Onitsha) 2. Onitsha -Enugu Road (from Onitsha to Awka) 3.Onitsha-Owerri Road then It is a welcomed development but any other roads aside these 3 highways will have adverse effect on the state and her citizens. Anambra has the highest Motocycle assembly companies and market in Africa situated at Nnewi and many were employed from that. The ban by other states in Nigeria has already created many loophole such as kidnapping and other crimes. With high trading activities going on within the state (Onitsha and Nnewi), Okada and tricycles are major means of movement. The Automobile industry hold a very good stake in the economy of the state. It is not only going to affect the lower and middle class but also some upper class like Innoson (Innoson Motocycles), Carter, Ngobros (KOTEC), IBETO (Ibeto battery), Kymco Auto bike Company, Bajaj Ltd, etc. Also over 80% of middle and lower class depend on the operations of okada and tricycle for their daily businesses. I will advice Governor Obiano to only restrict the ban to these 3 major Highways but any extension will see his people calling for his head and he will definitely loose his 2nd term governorship bid. This issue came up during Peter Obi's tenure and after wide consultation, he handled it with utmost care. Any one who is advising the governor on this should take note. 2 Likes |

KAYNINI: Somethings did not add up in this Kashamu's case. Britain has declared him free as US failed to tender evidence. This may be a case of Mistaken Identity or witch-hunting, NDLEA should be careful the way they handle this. it may backfire on them if after all USA could not nail him with sufficient evidence to convince the court, then NDLEA will be at the mercy of the man. 1 Like |
