Computers / Re: Cyber Cafes With thin Client Technology In Operation. by winnieG1(m): 10:48pm On Oct 04, 2012
@moscovite
is Anambra State Included in your list? setting up 10 computers? what are your repayment plans? i sent u an email
moscovite: Good Morning Nairalanders-Cafe Owners. Get Thin Clients on Credit(Hire Purchase/Lease).

We have  been working on a project to replace conventional PCs  with thin clients for Cafes so that more cafes will become successful.
Though most owners understand the tremendous advantage of thin clients over legacy systems, most do not have the funds to do this makeover.
In our style we went out to look for a solution and here is what we have courtesy of a sponsor.

Now we can offer this restructuring plan for any cafe owner with a convenient payment terms. As a pilot we are only doing it for 10 Cafes on a first come first serve basis.

This is what we do:

1. We identify a Cybercafe and pay a visit.
2. As a commitment from the owner we tell him to deposit between 10-50% of the value of the equipment. Depends on our evaluation.
3. We deploy the thin client.
4. The balance of the equipment will be paid weekly, in equal installments and within three months(For Hire Purchase).

In the case of LEASING, we will need to discuss with Cafe Owner, as leasing fees are usually lower, duration longer  and property continues to belong to us.

This is why we think payments should not be tough.

1. Cafe owner can sell  his/her PCs
2. Savings from fuel and maintenance.

This way, sales of old PCs and savings on fuel will be funds that can be applied to the repayment.

Thin Client Prices range from 6,000 to 15,000 naira. This depends on the following.

Brand: HPCompaq, Wyse, China etc.
Age: New or Grade A refurbished
Payment Terms: Immediate Payment, Hire Purchase or Lease.

If you are interested, send an email to info@surfcity-networks.com and provide the following:

1. Name of Cafe and Number of Systems
2  How to get to your cafe(Contact address and direction)
3. Name of Contact Person and Telephone Numbers.
4. Which will you prefer: Outright purchase, Hire Purchase or leasing.

Politics / Confederation or Disintegration, which way Nigeria? by winnieG1(m): 3:13pm On Jun 19, 2012
According to the Jama’atu Ahlus Sunnati Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, otherwise known as Boko Haram, the Koran says and I qoute "Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture". I hope I'm not dwelling in a dream here, so being non-muslin is unlawful? do you still wonder why they (Boko Haram)said and I quote "We want all Christians to convert to Islam"?

(http://dailypost.com.ng/2012/06/18/we-want-all-christians-to-convert-to-islam-boko-haram/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=we-want-all-christians-to-convert-to-islam-boko-haram)

So they no longer fight government as they said earlier, what a switch of responsibilities!

Now let me start by asking;is it better to fight those who do not in anyway have common goal with you or to let them go?
It is no news that the entity called Nigeria was falsely amalgamated, but its been over 50 year since Nigeria gained her independence and the whole truth had been unveiling itself with the demise of Nigerian citizens on the hand of their fellow citizen. To make the matter worse, the elites and leaders of the Norther Nigeria had turned deaf ear. It is no longer safe for some citizens to do their business and even worship in certain geopolitical regions of the country but Nigerian constitution still hold today that every citizen has freedom of worship.Maybe some regions are not part of Nigeria.

Hmmm! Nigeria is on hot seat here and it will only take the National Assembly to listen with their two ears wide open and deliberate on the future of this country. Don't tell me that their family have not been affected with the recent bombing since its their norm to give ear only when it concerns them. I think the fastest way for Boko Haram to be given amnesty just like the MEND(even though they may have different objectives)will be to take their ordeals to the National Assembly, maybe during one of their session and give them just a piece of Kaduna-yobe-Maiduguri hot cake. I'm sure they must find lasting solution to this menace.

why is there bad news everywhere? muslims hates christians, the three dominant tribes Hausa, Ibo and Yoruba hates each other, living like snake and man, cat and rat. The hatred even grows at exponential rate since the independence,non of the matters that led to the civil war over 30 years ago has been resolved. cant they see that even fred Quimby wasn't able to reconcile Tom with Jerry. I'm sure that none of these National assembly member will allow there child to do their National youth service at those death trap zone. maybe they are afraid of Scraping or amending NYSC act to enable Southerners serve in the south while northerners serve in the North,or even replace it with much anticipated SURE-P graduate internship program. hmmm! what are you thinking? is the aim of establishing NYSC defeated already?. I nearly lost my life during my NYSC service year,many did. my house was razed the day I travel to Lagos,I thank Almighty for his guidance. It is of no use holding what you don't like and its worthless forcing yourself where you are not welcomed.

So what are you thinking? should we go our separate ways?

Now when you talk of competence, i guess you're aware of what happened in Lagos during the period of doctors' strike. I know Fashola may be a good governor, but he is not most competent among his equal considering the amount of revenue generated in Lagos state alone

Sorry to say this, APGA is PDP's wife but with the situation of things in Anambra State, APGA is losing that State to PDP come 2014.but when it comes to presido, Anambrians will rather support Ngige at GEJ expense they are fully disapointed with his promises

Politics / Re: PDP May Lose Aso Rock If CPC & ACN Merge by winnieG1(m): 4:24pm On Jun 08, 2012
even if Fashola declares, do you think he's going to get more vote in SE, SS and North, against GEJ?

Now lets face reality, if ACN/CPC gives it to Ngige, I think the following will ensue;

1. SW will vote massively for him b/c of ACN party influence (He is ACN sitting senator )

2. SE will follow suite cause they know him as a man of action (Remember that he ousted the siting PDP senator, Annie Okonkwo, defeated APGA even at their base, sent the well known madam Akunyili out from Abuja with just 3 weeks of campaign)

3. with El Rufai as VP and with the support of Buhari's CPC, you already know what will happen in the North

Politics / PDP May Lose Aso Rock If CPC & ACN Merge by winnieG1(m): 3:25pm On Jun 08, 2012
I read on this thread about CPC/ACN merger for 2015 presidential election.

http://www.channelstv.com/home/2012/06/08/2015-tinubu-meets-buhari-to-begin-acn-cpc-merger-talks/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter

Well , this could be the much awaited move to snatch away Aso Rock from the ruling party. Their success on the merger will depends on the following;

1.Neither Buhari nor Tinubu is going to be the presidential candidate

2. they must field candidate like Senator Chris Ngige from Anambra State to be their flag bearer and a North-West Vice President. this way, they are sure of getting more than 50% of total votes from SE, 80% from SW, and 70% from all the 3 Northern Geo-political region. For SS, it all depend on whether Goodluck is embarking on 2nd term

3. PDP field another known South Easterner like Rochas Okorocha from Imo state for President.(Pls don’ t ask me how, it depends on PDP and APGA, as for Rochas, that has been his intention)
WHAT DO U THINK?

I had 3 of my friends disengaged in 1 branch of Oceanic bank.
1 of them was made a Manager and transfered to another branch. this happened just a week he relocated and paid house rent.

it is very sadening that either our friends or family members has been experiencing hard times as a result of banking reforms, jobs are being withdrawn every now and then, imagine laying off more than 90% of workers in a single branch of oceanic bank, intercontinental banks, the list continues, so if you are affected, please share your experience.
Computers / Re: Do You Know You Can Surf The Net Using Your Cable Tv by winnieG1(m): 12:53pm On Feb 13, 2012
@fafola,
you see your life, full of deceit.
LET ME MAKE IT CLEAR HERE
It is not possible to browse with satellite decoder esp DSTV,HITV or whatever, the only allowable format with those Satellite TV providers is One-way internet access in which you require another mobile telecom (glo,MTN, etc) for your upload while your download come through the satellite. The only advantage is that you get broadband up to 2mbit/s download even in a rural area where there is no broadband/3G but you will be paying for the two ( mobile upload ISP and the satellite ISP)

browsing with cable modem requires a cable tv provider using terrestrial interface and not Satellite TV providers like dstv, unfortunately there is non in Nigeria but come up someday. i'm currently working with one now, hoping all necessary things will be put in place for the take-off

bear in mind that most of the NIIT Centres operate thru licencee. it all boil down to the Individual/company operating the centre, maybe you need to try another centre.

Nigeria no dey carry last naw, the 1 attended was standard, 1 standard brand new complete system/person but  as life_style said, you only see it dat way if you are not somehow grounded in IT before coming, dats what they will not tell u. I am very proud I attended it, I learnt alot tho" I was a system engineer before enrollment. The problem people have is that they jump from any course to IT, its not that  very easy. I did Physics just like you at EBSU but started my IT career during NYSC service year during INEC voters registration. I was part of the INEC team, I try to do exceptional things, play with gadgets, when INEC IT Engineer deployed to my zone couldn't fix some problems we were facing, I took it as my personal tasks and fixed the problems and the INEC zonal Head pleaded to retain me but i rejected. I took alot of risk experimenting with computer and other IT media, I destroyed my first two laptops, one bought with my NYSC savings but didnt regret it. you know why, i learnt alot from them and now I can fix any laptop, desktop etc, It paid off cause I earned alot of money from that and I still do today. I had gone into various areas of IT. also planning to do Masters on IT.
Just like any Organisation, NIIT primary aim is to make their money while impacting the knowledge, it's left for you to determine if a particular program in NIIT is suitable for you, that's why they have program adviser. you need to have a goal and allign the program with your goal, for some people, their goal is to obtain the certificate. Maybe you didnt attend the orientation programme, I also did the MCITP, their tutors was very good (maybe b/c we were the 1st set for the center). I asked alot of questions during class cause i had some prio-knowledge , they wanted me to work with them but I rejected b/c I dont want to remain in class, I wanted to go further,learn new things.

How Do I Arrange Employment For Canada?

@Delta007 @ debosky
I am a newbie here and I raised the aboved-named topic as a new post but was banned thereafter, Maybe newbies are not allowed to raise topics here.

Wrt my qualification, I’m a Physics graduate (BSc. Industrial Physics-2nd class upper division), NIIT trained Network Administrator (via MCITP program), and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, MCTS (I am also planning to write one or more Microsoft Certification Exam before the end of January).

I understand that with my qualifications, I can work as Systems Administrator/Network Administrator/HelpDest support Technician/Computer operator etc - NOC 2281-B and NOC 2282

I had been self-employed for nearly 2years in IT, repairing computers, laptops, and other IT works for both individuals, companies and Banks on small scale contract level.
Traveling through education stuff would have been a better option but it requires high funds which is not readily available to me now.

Please any useful information will be appreciated. Thanks
