Still expecting a Brotherly advice on the above. Thanks as you assist with your opinion
Just not to rush things or put yourself in much pressure... check i you can differ the admission to summer. This will help you plan well and prepare for funding.
Or do you plan to still try out this Winter?

Thanks for the reply, I'd also need more explanation to what I'll need to put in place and when I should start applying since this is my first time of looking into applying for a school abroad.

Are you in Germany yet or an aspirant?
When you start your search using daad.de, you will see the info on application deadlines for the schools you've chosen. You will also see a link that directs you to the schools website. There you get first hand info on your course, application process, application start date and deadlines.
You can drop further questions here as you proceed. All the best.

Good evening ma ogas here
Ah have been following up for a while buh it seems this trend is mostly for MSC aspirants, I am going for bachelor, pls if there is a separate thread for bsc ah will b glad to join and if this thread serves for both
Ah would b happy if ma ogas here would epp me out cos by December ah will b having b1.and am currently r running ma language class with Schneider institute ph the director said he would assist me with the admission processing and all at the charge of 250k
To me the amount seems much. So ma ogas is there any other easy alternative or should ah go with processing.
A swift response will b highly appreciated
You don't have to spend all that unless you want to. This thread is not for any particular degree. Start reading from page 1 of this part5. It will help you a lot. You can read through Part 4 too.
Then start looking up schools as well through daad.de. Always ask questions here if not clear. But read through the thread properly. All the best.

Good day naira fam, please I had my interview at the Abuja German embassy on the 13th of July, where I also did biometric and handed over my passport as well as all necessary documents and up until now I haven’t gotten any reply from them. Should I be worried? Does it take this long? And also please if you are here and you had your interview on the same date as me please I would like to know if you’ve heard from the embassy. Thank you
Have you received your AM? Or heard from the embassy?

Hi guys,

I haven't been on this thread for long. I am one of the Nigerians that benefited enormously from the German Student Visa thread. Sorry, I didn't come here often to give back to the prospective students (Study life and work didn’t make it easy).

I would like to give the following advice to prospective students:

1. Consider the chance to study in Germany a privilege. Germany is one of the few countries that provides the platform for international students (from developing countries) to study without paying a fortune.

2. Life here would not be easy. The point here is, if you are not from a rich family, you would have to work while you study. Unfortunately, in some cases, I have seen fellow international students with misplaced priorities. Some international students (from developing countries) make jobs their "main job", and their study "mini-jobs". Education in Germany is designed in a way that you cannot get rich as a student and succeed in education at the same time. You have to choose one. I recommend you choose a part-time job; this enables you to complete your studies successfully in due time.

3. Learn German. No one expects you to speak the language perfectly. If you spend about 1-2 hours each day learning German, you will reach an intermediate level in 6 months (practice speaking, listening, writing) - In my opinion, speaking and listening are the most important of all. The point is learning, at least, basic German is important to find student jobs because a worker would have to speak German to attend to customers' needs. More importantly, by the time you complete your studies, your proficiency in German would probably be so good that the language barrier wouldn't hinder you from applying to professional jobs.

4. Don't associate yourselves only with your fellow countrymen. Take advantage of the cultural diversity in your respective universities. Respect the culture of your host country and the cultural differences of your fellow students.

5. Once in a while, you might experience racial discrimination (e.g. racial slurs), gender discrimination, or sexual orientation discrimination. Remember this: In life, you will always come across idiots.

6. The first time I was traveling to study abroad in February 2012, the immigration officer who stamped my passport realized that I was traveling out of Nigeria for the first time. Then he looked at me in the eye and asked: "Who are you going there to represent?" Myself, I answered. He shook his head and said no. He asked me the same question again; I said, my parents. He shook his head again, indicating disagreement. Then he finally told me, with a wagging finger: "You are going there to represent Nigeria".

I wish all the prospective visa applicants success in their interviews. Congratulations to those who already got their visa approved. By choosing Germany, I think it is one of the best professional decisions we will make because we can invest in an excellent education – and our professional future – without paying a fortune.

See you all in Germany! And for those that chose NRW, our paths may cross!
Nice one. Thanks

I went for my interview today at the German Embassy, Abuja. The V.O, a light-skinned woman, insisted I get my original degree certificate and reapply for appointment.

Nb: I graduated in 2016. I went to my school two weeks ago and was told my certificate wasn't ready. I explained this to the V.O. I even attached the statement of result and transcript.

I'm doing everything possible to get my school to print the certificate.

Has any1 here had issues like this that warrant reapplication? How possible will it be to get interview appointment again?
Did you go with the original statement of result? and was it clearly written,"statement of result?"

Hi Winnie,
So, I just booked for an interview date. But it wasn't with the uniassist letter. I mailed all the schools I applied to yesterday asking for a letter addressed to the embassy confirming I applied to their course. One of the school replied this morning with a well structured letter, stamped and all. I just actually booked with that. So, maybe you should try to do the samething.
Wow. This is nice. I will consider that. What date were you given?
