efilefun:When GEJ sought d complete removal of subsidy payment and deregulate d sector 4 active and transparent private sector participation. Ur oil cabal marketers in NUPENG in league with their big brodas in NLC and TUC staged a massive protest in Ojota accusing d govt. Of intending 2 inflict hardship on Nigerians. I cud vividly remember when Sanusi said that d payment of subsidy cud not be sustained on d long run. Now it's beginning 2 dawn on everyone 2 see d need 2 remove it dis instant. I watching Buhari closely as to what he'll do abt dis vexed issue of petrol subsidy. Jah bless |
FabioPeter:that can't be compared 2 darkness we are witnessing as nation. Companies like BUA, Honeywell, Dangote cement, Nlng, Agbara industrial estate and other industrial estate in Ogun, Aba and PH all run on these generation technolgies and that's what have kept very competitive. You must also understand that this generation technologies run on gas which is 40percent cheaper than disel most nigerian companies use. |
luvinhubby:When GEJ administration sought d understanding of Nigeria 2 see d reason why we had 2 completely remove d fuel subsidy and begin d deregulation of downstream sector. Nigerians thought that they were being wicked 2e have thought of that decision. I cud vividly remember when Emir Sanusi in 2011 warned that the payment of subsidy cannot be sustained in d long run. He advised that Nigerians allow Govt. To completely deregulate d sector 2 allow 4 private sector participation in d sector. Now we Nigerians are beginning 2 see why subsidy must be remove rite now. As regards 2 power, I've always been an advocate of embedded power generation this is somethin that has worked in RCCG camps. Companies can build modular power plant and sell d output directly 2 d distribution companies. That way that are able 2 localise their source of fuel and at d same time bypass the inefficient transmissions. I'm happy distribution companies such as: Eko disco, PH disco, Enugu disco and Ikeja disco are working 2wards that. With God's help, we can achieve 24hrs power supply within d shortest period, Amin. |
kayode27:Those pix of Amechi rily got me laughing 2 I cracked my ribs. Amechi can be compared 2 a market thief |
It's very easy all PMB needs 2 do ensure greater participation of power experts in d industry. GEJ ensured that power sector was liberalized for greater participation by both government and private companies. Secondly, Sam Amadi, chairman of NERC in 2012 passed two acts into d NERC law namely: The Embbeded power generation act and the Independent Distribution regulation act. This two beautiful piece enabled distribution companies 2 seek out electricity modular power plant operator. PMB shud ensure that d policy is sustained Thirdly, ex Governor Raji Fashola has been building captive power plant for gove. Agencies. |
thaoriginator:Don't be talk like u̶̲̥̅̊ have all d info abt d ex president welfare packages. because last I checked it's d same agency that deternmined GEJ's salary emoluments. |
It would be unwise 2 end d programme. I would rather suggest u reform d structure within d organisation. Any attemppt 2 discontinue d programme will be met with stiff opposition. Trust me GMB, u̶̲̥̅̊ don't want 2 begin ur administration with a renewed crisis in a region that sustains d nation. Trust me on this one |
well we can only hope he's satisfied with pursueing politics and focus more on the an elder statesman not just in Nigeria but in Africa |
things we do in the name of Democracy |
omonnakoda:Obj didn't save $35billion, what he saved was $50 billion. and that was in our foreign reserves. there's a difference btw ECA and foreign reserves. foreign reserves are used to facilitate Nigeria's trade. Excess Crude Account was officially opened by GEJ's govt. |
people need to understand that the Excess Crude Account, the Sovereign Wealth Investment fund were opened to save the excess dollar bench marked from the sale of crude. these savings were extremely important to protects from shocks like what we are xperiencing now with the sharp drop in crude oil prices. i could remember when GEJ gave NOI approval to commence the scheme, such plans were vehemently opposed by the factional chairman of NGF, Rotimi Amaechi and his bands of renegade and even threatened a legal actions against the FG. Now we can all see how oil price drop significantly affected not just Nigeria but other OPEC members. the little we saved, the government demanded that we shared recklessly among themselves. Now everyone seems to blaming the FG 4 not doing enough to protect them. no one seems to question the profligacy that were manifest at the state level. To me, i place the blame on the state govt. for not seeing the need of saving for the rainy days. God bless Nigeria |
love him or hate him. these were one of the technocrats in GEJ's government. others included: Okonjo Iweala, Olusegun Aganga and Allison Madueke. i know ppl will rebuke Allison. but u need 2 understand. she's a complete technocrat even though ppl view her as controversially fradulent |
tsdarkside:people expect the Buhari of 1976 to still be same Buhari of 2015. they need to understand that this is a new political landscape. a regime which upholds the rule of law |
i wonder what stops the lagos state government from building modular power plants and selling the output directly to eko and ikeja disco. i can vividly remember when Sam Amadi, chairman of NERC said unequivocally that they have signed to acts into NERC code. those two acts provides the opportunity for distribution companies to seek out modular power plant from companies involved in generating power in smaller quantities. |
please. People should stop reading negative meanings into Jonathan's gesture. it's only appropriate that he does it. and all these talks about Buhari jailing Jonathan's Cabinet members, that can't happen. people need to understand that there is something called:'Separation of Power' Buhari should also understand that the executive which he heads cannot singlehandedly arrest and jail Jonathan's cabinet without the input of the Judiciary. Don't expect those in Jonathan's cabinet who've been suspected of being fraudulent to just sit down and folds their hands.they also have rights to access the judiciary and they'll do so without hesitation. My advice to Buhari it's ensure he employs the best hands to move Nigeria forward as he has promised. God bless Nigeria ![]() |
