there's one thing i'm sure of in this life. you cannot force patriotism out of people, it is gifted by the people on the basis of love. if we must keep Nigeria one then we must restructure this nation to what it ought to be.
PoliticsRe: Common Lies Nigerians Tell Themselves About Nigeria. by winterfell007(m): 6:25pm On Nov 10, 2015
what we fail to realise as a country is that we failed to practice true federalism that why Nigeria is not great and from the look of things i don't think we'll ever be. let me point out a workable solution:

1. the National Conference provided Nigerians the opportunity to restructure the country for optimal performance. when it was inaugurated by GEJ, i began looking forward to a new a prosperous Nigeria where no tribe or enthic group will feel the others are lording them or controlling their resources. i believe PMB should revisit those recommendation of the

2. this country can truly be great if we revert to regionalism as a system of government. this country is too diverse to operate the skewed system of government. that's why we are seeing the rise of secessionist movement. if truly want all these movements that threatens the unity of this country to stop then we must revert to the old form.

3. Aristotle once said 'it is truly injustice to treat unequal things equal and equal things be treated unequal. that saying can be ascribed to Nigeria present system of government where the FG is in control of everything and trying to make every state on operate on the same pedestal. that;s the worst form of injustice. it must be addressed if we want to the birth of a great nation that is truly competitive in nature

Where's the laxity from Buhari's side? The national Assembly have been the ones playing silly games claiming change. All the ministerial nominees could have been allowed to start their work within a week but instead we have needless feet dragging and drama till date. Investors will Always come in because we have a large population and money. Also economic hitmen like Okonjo and co will attract their cronies for their own benefits. Currently, indecision is slowing down the economy but it will pick up.
how would it take PMB to assemble a team of crack technocrats, since he was declared the winner he could have begun searching for the crack team right from the onset. he had to wait till he assumes office. he promised to hit the ground running as soon as he assumes office but what is he doing today everything is virtually down due to his indecision that's what the market is reacting to not the plunge in oil price. please speak the truth, it doesn't cost u anything
InvestmentRe: Investors Losing Faith In Buhari's Govt Over Lack Of Economic Direction-bloomber by winterfell007(m): 2:23pm On Oct 29, 2015
Buhari by all indices does not understand that his laxity and indecision has really caused the nation a great deal of economic loss. during GEJ's administration, every investor coming to Africa always have Nigeria as the first point of destination. Rating Agencies like Rueters, JP Morgan and Fitch rated Nigeria high due to fast growth rate, better clarity of government policies such as: auto policy, power sector reform, sugar policy and gas based industrialization and improved civil service organization. i could remember attending expos and speakin wit various expatriates they highlighted how remarkable Nigeria has grown since the return to democracy and the upswing momemtum we've maintained since then. That seem to have slowed down. The growth of seemed to have slowed not just because of the plunge in oil price but the inconsistency and indecision of the current government. no one seem to understand where they are heading to. that in itself is the greatest contributor to slow growth rate. my humble contribution
It is my hope PMB realizes this before it's becomes too unbearable.

this points out thing. Propaganda cannot thrive for long. one way or the other the truth will out. Buhari failed to realize that Maitasiane's success cannot be replicated in this era. Modern warfare has dramatically changed from what he use to know. Now i understand how GEJ must have felt when they called him clueless, thinking being an ordinary lecturer, he was capable of understanding security details. Now we have a general in power should we still call him clueless as we did with his predecessor before him?

Nigeria's collective budgets from 2013 to 2015 is not even up to that amount that was bandied by propagandist

Now the whole country will view Bayelsans and the South South region unfit to lead the nations. the eastern region as a whole has really cut themselves from the power equation. but i know the northerners have done far worse than this.

cronsberg:
Throughout Nigeria's history, i have never seen a state so well positioned and so well placed to be extremely developed than Kogi state with everything a geographical location needs to be fully developed. From Ajaokuta steel, to the large West African ceramics industrial complex, to the confluence of river Niger and Benue, to the ever agile and active populace, to the thousands of square miles of untapped woodland, to the world class Obajana industrial complex, to the massive IPP power plants and many more, yet this very well placed state is disapointingly poor and underdeveloped. The road network of Kogi is a shame to say the least, the pipe borne water and sewage infrastructure is almost non existent, integrated public tranport is also non existent, the state capital Lokoja was recently shown on TVC, it looked like a common local government, a poor one at that, and now the state is trying to borrow 50 billion naira from the FG? of what importance will that be since the state will now spend huge chuncks of its FG allocations for the next 20 years repaying the loans? further depriving the the state of common developement. what a shame
being home to some industrial complexes doesn't mean the state has the potential of being rich ( i could be wrong). what brings about prosperity is the ability of the state government to harness the ingenuity of the active SMEs presents in those state for economic developments. unfortunately the captain is yet to see the potential of those states SMEs in being an active participant in the economic formulation. People should copy Obi's strategy. he met a pariah state with little revenue from the FG. he formulated a strategy called ANIDs with partnership with UNIDO. he began constructing new and viable road projects to state hinterland to allow for transprotation of agric products. he began constructing little markets structure adjacent to those beautiful roads. he realised that to increases commerce in the state, you need a good networks of roads so that peasant can access vibrant markets in Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka. this he did successfully. i could go on but let me limit myself at these pending when you reply me. my humble contribution.
PoliticsRe: List Of 19 States Given Bailout As Released By CBN by winterfell007(m): 5:36pm On Sep 19, 2015
Anambra aside Lagos is one of the few states that still impresses me. i could remember when NOI advised the state government on the need to benchmark that oil budget so as to allow for oil savings into the Excess Crude Account (ECA) and the SWIF. the proposition was vehemently opposed by Amaechi, the ex chairman of the NGF and his gang. they challenged the illegality of creating the ECA and SWIF saying that it's makes no economic sense to create another account other than the Consolidation Fund Account (CFA). after much litigation GEJ instructed NOI to discontinue the savings pending when they resolve the issue amicably(out of court). but Amechi being as obstinate as ever fustrated the efforts of Govt to restart the savings.
it was during the conflict that NOI adviced some state governors to benchmark their state budget in order to make some savings for the rainy days. only Anambra and Kwara heeded the advice and began bench-marking their budgets.
now that the raining has begun, everyone is looking for whom to apportion the blame for not saving. obviously, all fingers pointed to NOI. but they forgot NOI, Obi and GEJ were one of the very few that succeeded in making the Excess Crude Account legal before the eyes of the law. Now Anamabra seems somewhat prepared for the rainy seasons due to Obi's discretion. my humble contribution.

Oando's Gaslink already supplies lots of companies in Lagos especially the Ikorodu, Ilupeju and Oshodi-Apapa axes. Shell has lines in Ota in Ogun.
While Tower&Lexcel's Greenfuels limited supplies CNG to customers who're too far from the existing neghbouring gas-lines.

Shell and Oando both buy from FG's NGC. Don't know where Greenfuels' feedstock's from.

I don't know about Green-fuels and other CNG plants but I know Gaslink's having an issue with pricing which is still regulated by FG for now.
Hopefully as we develop, more gas-based companies are going to spring up and we're really going to see growth in that area, however we look at it though the Gas outlook's still looks more attractive, especially if more indigenous/in-country-production policies are enforced.
oando has seen how successful it ran the Gaslink project that prompted it to embark on new compression gas stations to feed the industrial concern within Aba and Ph. let's not forget the Local Content Act did bring some good with it. Now companies like falcon petroleum has an Mou with the Anambra state govt. to build similiar project. seven energy is doing a similair project in Akwa-ibom. the future is ultimately gas!. i want to partake in this burgeoning industry in the future
PoliticsRe: Why South-east Lost Senate Presidency - Okorocha by winterfell007(m): 6:43pm On Sep 17, 2015
i have come to realize that this man called Okorocha is self-seeking with inordinate desires, he's saying all these to make a section of the particular country love him so that when he contests for the highest office in the land, he'll be assured of their unflinching support. to bad he turned out to be the "Judas" in our mist. i've also come to realize that a president coming from a particular region doesn't mean prosperity will befall that region. if there's any truth to this assertion is the recent statistics on MDG development goals as confirmed the NBS and UNICEF. the southeast tops in Human Development Index when comparing all factors such as: Education, health, water resources and the lots. that has always being our hall mark. after the civil war we realized that rebuilding our common heritage was a faster way of acheiving economic developments rather than waiting for hand-outs from a government that practically treated us like second-class citizens. it was our resilence for community-based developments that got us this far
the northerners thinks clinging to the corridors of power is elevates thier status among other Nigerians. That's a confirmed lie!
Gone are the days were people do say: 'Political Power defines Economic Power' that was only applicable to military rule. now Political Power is must align with with economic power if it intends to achieve some form of stability. the sooner the northerners realize this new theory, better for them.
finally i'm not be sentimental or tribal; i'm just making COMMON SENSE!!! grin grin grin

Of most comments on Nigerian Energy issues of late, your's. Really got me.

Countries like China, India and the rest are using the U.S induced oil-price slump to buy up our oil and store for the posterity of themselves because whether we believe it or not, There's going to be an energy crisis in say 15-20 yrs from now!
The oil we're selling at almost-zero price now may be hot cake by then and had we any sense, we'll find alternatives and live on other resources so that by the time industrialization really takes root here, we won't be dependent on these same countries for the oil we ourselves sold to them.

It's like the man who rents a house in 1984 at say 50naira/room and pays 70yrs' rent upfront.
He'll keep living in that house all the while building more houses and letting at ridiculously higher prices. Yet the landlord will have no justification to force him out or sue for an increase.

So short-sightedness only leads a man astray later on.
Would have been better if we take our rightful place in the committee of nations and start refining both for local consumption and for export (at least to neighbouring W.African states) before Ghana et. al. beats us to it.

Yes we'll have a cash crunch while trying to achieve that but who achieves anything worthwhile easily?
David470 and all what do you say?
thanks bro. there's no two way about it. Orient exploration company is building a gas compression plant in Aguleri, Anambra to to truck CNG to captive power plants in selected industrial area in anambra so is Oando doing in Aba and Port Harcourt. we should start thinking of gas based industrialisation, that could fetch more monies in the future.

my brother spot on. when i see people worship these pastors calling them "daddies" and "mummies" in the lord, it baffles my heart. when growing i understood that roman Catholicism is about the welfare of its congregations things that mattered to them. the catholic church ensured that schools, hospitals and relief centres were built wherever they were located. they ensured that such amenities were affordable not only to it members but to others non-catholics.
these was what are reflects human needs not building elaborate universities with the congregations monies only to turn your back and say "education is not cheap'
the pope is the head of the Catholic Church. presiding over millions of parishes with over 1.2 billion roman catholic adherents to look after and yet the pope has no personal airline of his own. when going on a mission, AL Italian, the state airline is leased to him only to be returned after use. but in Nigeria, you see our daddies and mummies in the lord living ostentatious lives having fleet of airjets and giving flimsy excuses that it is meant to aid them in their ministry. what stops Mr.Adeboye, Mr. Oyedepo and their likes from boarding normal commercial airlines? truly we live in decitful times. these guys are truly living the scammers dreams.

i propose we continue an aggresive gas production as opposed to oil production. we are xperiencing an oil glut in the market. thankfully NLNG has bben a success story due to the sustained investment of NNPC and its strategic shareholders as well as FG's commitment beginning from 1991 all the the way to 2014 . we compete favourably with our peers across the globe. companies like Seplat, orient Energy, Seven Energy, Falcon Petroleum, Oando and their likes should pursue aggresive investment in gas exploration for energy and industralisation. Nigeria is blessed with gas reseverves all the way from the Anambra Basin down to the gulf of guinea. we could do well here. my humble contribution.

PoliticsRe: Elumelu Exposes Multi-billion Naira Power Sector Fraud by winterfell007(m): 6:33pm On Sep 15, 2015
When Obj concieved the power sector reform act, he politicised the whole process from the onset. Obj withdrew 16 billion dollar from the excess crude account to finance the construction of these power plant. He constructed the phase one of Omotosho 335 megawatts in Ondo, Olorunshugo 33dmegawatts in Ogun, Geregu 414 megawatts in Kogi and Afam II 250 megawatts in Rivers. Obj intended to coerce the oil majors such as: Shell, Total AGip and Mobil to build thousands of Kilometers of gas pipelines all the way from the Niger Delta to Western Nigeria to supply those plants with fuel. that made no sense to oil majors, spending millions of dollars building pipelines that was highly susceptible to vandalism and theft. They tried to convince Obj to build these power plants in eastern Nigeria where there are known gas reserves and then build the transmissions lines to western Nigeria because it was less expensive and easier to police. Obj fearing the easterner could take advantage of it to start industralising blantantly refused. He decided to contract the Nigeria Gas Company (NGC) to build the pipelines. I'm not sure they started it. This neccesiated the National Assembly to raise eyebrow about the reliabilty and price tag of the projects. Ya'ardua subsequently came in only to suspends these projects oweing to these allegations made by Elumelu and the NA. GEJ came he did his best to bring in some form of transparency. He re-organised the NDPHC into a full fleged agency with a competent management under the leadership of Olutu to head the agency. GEJ subsequently convinced the NA on d need to restart the phase two of these projects as planned by OBJ. FG, state and local govt. Began contributing a quota of their monthly allocation to NDPHC which realised close to 8 billion dollars thatnks to oil price as at then.NDPHC began constructing phase two of omotosho II 500 megawatts, Olorunshugo II 750 megawatts Geregu 434 megawatts and Afam III. In addition to that, GEJ instructed that new power plants be built at Alaoji 1000 megawatts in Abia, Gbarain 255 megawatts in Bayelsa and Egbema 335 megawatts in Imo. These are areas with known gas reserves as confirmed by the oil majors. GEJ also instructed the construction of new transmission lines and distribution to be able to evacuate this new quatum of power. Ngozi Iweala went to europe to secure a one billion dollar eurobond to build the longest gas pipeline in Nigeria connecting the entire power plants (both built by Obj and Gej). My only problem with GEJ was that he didn't probe the initial 16 billion dollars used by Obj as alleged by Elumelu. This is for those who really want to know the truth not for lazy readers. Thanks

i have said times without number, the only way to get rid of this energy crisis is to embark on building modular power plants for built -up residential areas. there source of fuel could be costly but it's very sustainable. Oando, Falcon, Seplat, Seven energy and others can build new gas compression plants that can convey CNG on trucks to these captive power plants. the southeast and south south should embark on these initiative because they reside in a region that has abundant gas reserves.
