@win4 u still havnt answer my question.gyd emu will use d DOB on my int pp and get an affidavit to back it up .wat nw happens during document verification cos my real date of birth is on both my waec result and my transcript.wat happens wen i graduate and am having diffrent DOB on my emu certificate and my other docs cos u said emu would use the DOB on my int pp mind u dat is nt my real DOB, again abt the sch scholarship a friend told me the sch is trying to stop it for the coming session feb 2012 .how true is this
We only use DOB on your Intl passport and this will be same DOB on your transcripts and student certificate and any inconsistency caused by you is not EMU responsibility.

Is your friend working with EMU or how did he know the scholarship will be stopped? did you read that on EMU web also? a new scholarship scheme has just been approved by the scholarship committee and this create more opportunity for brilliant students. EMU scholarship is ON and we have not told anybody it will stop.

@win4 just went true your reply again, u mean i should go ahead and apply with the DOB on my transcript wic is the ryt 1 but get an affidavit summited with my application ryt?? and yhat i wldnt hav any problem with turkish embassy on this issue,
At EMU, during registration, we are interested on the date of birth on all students International passport. As this DOB will be on the students transcript, students certificate, ID cards. If you wish to receive or send western union, you will be requested to drop your intl passport and your DOB will be the one in use. So either you stick to the DOB on your intl and get Notary public to support that or you get it changed. Cos we are going to extract the DOB on your inlt passport and make use of it even on your academic portal and not the one on the transcript.

@wip7,

You are trying to look for what is talking inside radio. Most Nigerians don't have stable DOB, it changes with situation. Abeg, understand the guy wink grin lolz
Hmmm but if the DOB keeps changing with situation for Nigerians then, how can one believe or trust such entities sir? We have encountered irregularities among some students just recently during the document verification and presently 32 students will be expelled and send back home as most do not even attend the universities they present the transcript for us during registration and some did submit FAKE Olevel results. We discovered this during recent document verification and very unfortunate for the students, some are currently 2nd year students. which means wasted money and effort as we shall send their names to UK, US and Europeans embassies after deportation. One presented a female result for us and nobody know the result belongs to a female as the name can fit in for male and female. Thanks to the examination bodies.

@wip4, thanks 4 the good work.please i nid clarification on this, i want to apply for masters at EMU, the date of birth on my pp is different from the one on my transcript, thankz to nigeria immigration o hav travel to nairobi on this pp and changing the DOB on my pp to the oringinal DOB on my trnscript seems abortive. please advise, which DOB should i apply with? and i hope i wldnt hav issues both at the embassy and during my registration at EMU
Which is the correct DOB: the one on the transcript or the one on PP? If the one on the transcript is the correct date of birth then kindly apply with that and get affidavit letter or support letter from a legal arm stating the correct date and kindly supply this letter during the time of your application. The only place you may have problem will be during registration as Turkish embassy is not interested in your transcript. But during registration and when we are doing documents verification at your formal school, if there are any changes in documents submitted it could lead to expulsion.

If you submit affidavit letter alongside your application, then there wont be a problem.

If the DOB on your international passport is the wrong one, i wonder what went wrong, as all applicants do fill the data b4 submission in Nigeria and the machines ask you to check your data b4 final submission by clicking YES or NO, so what happened then?

Kindly google the universities in North Cyprus, check for the reputation, the accreditation, facilities and the fees and scholarship package for students. All these can be find on each university website. This information will really help you to decide what you actually want in life. There is no oda relatively affordable medical skul outside Nigeria whose admission is still on. At least nt any that i knw of. Ukraine is still d best choice bt i wld av to wait till nxt yr n dts out of it.

wip7 is dia any skul in cyprus dt offers any biomedical course like anatomy or physiology. Wen i finish wt dt i'l knw i av a degree den i can further n go for medicine again.

Thanks
Your story is quite pathetic but with God and strong determination you can win. There is a university that offers Medicine In Cyprus, Near East University, www.neu.edu.tr the university is comparatively ranked more than Nigerian Universities but the Tuition fees for Medical program is quite high (12,600Euros pa year). If you have the cash you can still meet up. Kindly read more on the university website.

At the University I represent in Cyprus, EMU, Our MEdical programs will start so soon around September 2012 as we are trying to conclude the collaboration with our partner hospitals and universities in Turkey. We only offer Pharmacy now and no other universities in north Cyprus that offers any medical related.

Instead of you going to Ukraine for medical education , why cant you look at Philippines, the Caribbean countries and south America. These countries do have medical programs structured on USMLE ( America) and PLAB (UK) and their tuition fees are quite Cheap and they do offer quality medical educations as well few of the university in Philippines are Cebu Doctors University, South Western University etc and some in the Caribbean are Taxilla American University, Guyana, www.tauedu.org etc. The Admission process is not so hard is what you can do yourself and in case you need further assistance you can ask.

Please NOTE these medical schools in Philippines and South America are tough and academic conscious, they train people that are really DOCTORS and not those just want to be Doctors by TITLE. so you will need to think well before you put up any application. Most still have application for this year. Kindly google them for further explanation.

Wish you luck!

TravelRe: Nigerians In North Cyprus Should I? by wip7: 7:57am On Nov 06, 2011
@ poster,

I will like to point some REAL FACTS for you and not hear-say, to study abroad is huge investment irrespective of the country you wish to study. You will have to take care of your tuition, living and accommodation expenses. If your aim is to study as stated earlier, then you should be looking at an affordable country with quality education to achieve your aim being a self-sponsored student. First the best bet for you is to check through braintrack.com and read more on google for what you want and you can come to conclusion and bit of forum discussion from people currently living in the country you wish to go rather than people that hear about the country and did not actually find out themselves. Poster, i am not asking you to travel to study in North Cyprus oooo but i will want to clarify some main points already raised by other well-wisher member here.

1. North Cyprus not friendly environment to live as told by friend who once lived there?

Scientifically and socially to accept anything and pass it to the third person, those things should be empirical and physically reproduce-able. You have not bin to TRNC before to confirm the friendliness or non-friendliness of a country but you only hear, means is NOT ETHICAL to pass it to 3rd person until proven real. What is the meaning of being friendly? For the past years i have bin living in TRNC i have not heard or witness any communal fight, killings or abduction in any part of TRNC BUT killings, serial bombings, kidnaps, road accidents, armed robbery all happens in Kaduna, JOS, Maiduguri, south -south region etc currently in NIGERIA. Can you point where TRNC experienced/experiencing any of the above mentioned hostilities? hmmmm and Nigeria is friendly but TRNC is not friendly, i need to know meaning of friendly anyway.

2. Cost of Living is quite high in TRNC?

All country with currency above Naira will definitely be expensive to live compare to NIGERIA. Since TRNC currency is 1lira : 100 naira (most times), then ypu must expect the living expenses to be higher than Nigeria BUT , the poster already stated his intention to study abroad, so i think scientifically, you should compare the living expenses to other destination abroad NOT Nigeria. so what do you mean by cost of living? do you mean paying for accommodation, buying food to eat, taxi etc? if yes then, most country that you might he should go are far higher than TRNC e.g UK, USA. Canada, Germany, Finland etc so is not a point.

3.They Believe Nigerians are very rich but their economy is isolated and they treat Nigerians like that hmmmm?

Yeah Nigeria as a country is RICH i believe that, how do they treat Nigerians? they slap them and collect money from them on the road ? or they ask them to pay for their food? Anyway,TRNC has STABLE AND REGULAR ELECTRICITY but Nigeria is yet to have that and you are still talking about isolation, Nigeria economy is not isolated but No electricity so which will you choose? Hardly will you experience NETWORK FAILURE in TRNC even though there are only two carrier in TRNC but NIGERIA that is filled with bunch of carriers MTN, GLO cannt even withstand RAIN and you are here saying isolated economy.

4. TRNC is only recognized by Turkey,

Yeah very true. BUT we have more than 20 countries in the world like that until they settle what ever their grievances. But the university in TRNC is world recognized , I represent Eastern Mediterranean University www.emu.edu.tr, NO university in Nigeria rank close to this University interms of quality education, infrastructure and reputation world wide. TRNC not recognized does not means diploma from TRNC is not recognized world wide. You can check EMU accreditation and recognition and see how many exchange collaboration we have with USA, UK, GERMANY, CANADA etc so if the diploma is not recognized, dont you think these uni wont collaborate?

Many Nigerians are treated badly abroad due to many atrocities they have caused and i can tell you many cases we do solve in my office emanating from Nigeria. Yahooo yahooo case, prostitution , drugs, Cultism, illegal way of life etc and you expect TRNC to treat them like Kings when they display such stuff, all that live normal life and put in seriousness in their academic really REAP the fruits of their Labour.

My message is ONLY INTENDED FOR THE POSTER, just to point out that hear-say is not a factor to put into consideration.

Now I want real advice about studying in north cyprus i have enough funds to last me through the period of the masters program alone but i will like to proceed to canada to do a phd before returning to nigeria . Here is my question
would i be able to save enuff money from doing menial jobs in TRNC or even turkey in 2 years to pursue my phd program or this plan is not feasible.
And would you advice somebody who can only afford the finances for the masters program alone to come spend it or should he just use the money to run his masters and phd here in nigeria.
Please do respond as you would your own siblings and I believe the lord would respond to your own issuess to. Thank you.
kindly read more on North Cyprus here https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-351402.32.html

If you have very good result and good GRE marks you can try Turkish universities like www.metu.edu.tr or www.itu.edu.tr, www.boun.edu.tr etc these universities are world standard and very affordable in Turkey but with high requirements to secure admission. So if you must study abroad you might as well try them as they are affordable than most uni in North Cyprus or better still study in Nigeria it will be far cheaper for you. Good luck.

I replied your email you sent to me, to apply for Turkish student visa is easy if you can follow the steps and provide all the required documents. I have prepared a PDF file to summarize Turkish student visa. Its FREE of CHARGE. You can as well assess this information on the Turkish embassy Abuja website. Good luck.
