Ade001: Mr wip, am a graduate of EMU grin, I know how things work there. Things are changing, how can the first 10-12 candidates from NEU got denials till the remaining candidates from the same school start calling the school authorities and them in turn making calls to Turkish Embassy in Lefkosa before the last applicants for the day were given visas after so much delay, even there payment receipt had 30th of July date while the visa date reads 31/7. Though all the students from EMU had their visas. Well I have a friend that is working at the embassy who told me that they dont have names from NEU till yesterday evening. Things are changing becos before they will tell you that your name isnt with then yet, and that you check later but now, anything leads to denial.
Thank you for letting me know you graduate from EMU. I am staff of EMU and currently in charge of African scholarship. Wish you luck in your future endeavor!

Ade001: Heard it was due late arrival of the names from the school though, cos they later gave the last ones waiting.
late arrival of names cannot lead to visa denial. Do you know what it means to have DENIAL STAMPED on your passport? see let me explain things to you the way it works, when student get appointment and we have not sent the student name to the embassy, when the student apply, The embassy will contact us to know the status of the student and as soon the skool approves the student and the student docs are okay, such student will be given visa. Thats the way it works!

Ade001: So Mr WIP, incase a student who had paid his fees but was denied visa, what will he do? reapply or ask for refund from school which i know takes almost 2 years or more to claim. Seems reapplying is the better option?
If student visa is denied, then the student will need to write the university with the attachment of the denial visa copy and reason for denial. The refund takes just within weeks as soon as the university confirms from the embassy incase of EMU, i dont know the university that takes 2years anyway. EMU is within week if all docs are provided!

Ade001: Was at the embassy yesterday, they were denying students from NEU visas, dont really know what is happening! never heard of it before. embarassed
As stated in one of my posts recently, we received new policy and directives from Turkish embassy about student visas. The procedure to issue visas will be more strict now due to many loop holes found. In order to make Cyprus as crime free as it is issuance of visas to students with varying intentions will be difficult now. Each visa that will be issue most follow strong statement from the admitting university. The few visas issued to EMU students, we were called by both Turkish embassy Abuja and Istanbul to verify the authenticity of the students before they make their decisions.

EMU is striving to ensure we recruit quality students and follow up in their visa issuance and any students found unseriuos or with illegal intentions will be flushed out.

cris83: thanks, but i am not sitting at home doing nothing. I am a working guy trying to make a living in the busiest state in nigeria. With regards to a sponsor, i believe i do a sponsor but i must convince my sponsor what are my future plans after getting my masters degree. Now, can u please enlighten me on why you think METU is a more preferable university to cyprus international university. Also i think this same METU has two main campuses as the other is called METU-Nothern Cyprus Campus. I went through the websites and discovered the programs are different as wellas the name. I may be wrong but do clarify please.
You will need to find time to do your homework if you really want the best for yourself. Try to be certain your sponsor is ready to finance you before you leave Nigeria. I will advise you to google and search on differences between METU and CIU at your on convenient time. A brief info on METU : METU is ranked the best university in Turkey and ranked 345 world wide and is government own university with Campus in northern Cyprus with capacity to fund graduate students research. CIU is a private university and so on and so on and so on.

All necessary information you need is written on CIU website, read more here http://www.ciu.edu.tr/english/kayit_grad.htm , it will be advisable for you to gather the information yourself since you are the applicant, if i help you gather it then what will you be doing at home? just reading the gathered info? Good Job, kindly help me out on this i have two brothers who are seeking admission, one wants to study International relations and the other Computer Engineering. Kindly advise how should they go about the Admission to EMU? I really desire that they study abroad as my studying in Nigeria, would have been something i would change if i had the power to. How is the cost of schooling there averagely? What's the full meaning of EMU? Kindly get in touch through ayimoro.gmila@gmail.com
Expecting your response. Thnx
You will need to ask your brothers if they are financially capable to study abroad before you proceed for their admission processing. Students must have sponsor to study here as we have limited jobs for students. EMU- Eastern Mediterranean University North Cyprus. The fees ranges USD 3450-4300USD each semester, we have two semesters in one year. All admitted applicants are eligible for scholarship ranging 25%, 50% and 100% (competitive). to apply is easy, just email m their documents and fill the required applications forms.

Geomac: Wip7,

Do you accept transfer students? My cousin wants to come to EMU. He is in 300level. Can he be given admission if he can get his transcript? What level will he start from in EMU? Thanks
Yes we do admit transfer students from polytechnic, university, APTECH, College of education into EMU. All transfer applicant must filled the transfer application form and send along with their transcript and olevel result and must be less than 25years of age. I cant say the level he will be admitted into, each department has committee in charge of transfer applicant and they decide which level to admit such student which depends basically on the quality of the courses he has taken before, the grades earn and the relevancy of the courses to EMU program. He may be admitted into year 1 or 2 or 3, the evaluation committee decides that.

aro_001: @wip,
First of all i will like to commend you for always providing people important information about TRNC,most especially EMU,i am a nigerian that just got admision to study in emu and i am planning to come over there by september,i have a friend schooling in south and he called me last week telling me not to come to nrth that the place is more like Nigeria and this really discouraged me kind of,as i have made up my mind to school in emu, though i am from an average family and my family are ready to assist with the little they have.Pls can you tell me more about north and that my friend also told me most of the turkish people don't understand english and their buses remind him of Molue in lagos, pls i need a mature contribution from people in north.Fenks
Dear student,
I will like to ask you to do few things yourself and then your quest will be known to you and i will urge you to do alot of survey, search, google and many more and you will need to be reasonable in your quest for knowledge. You will need to ask yourself what exactly do want in your life, why do you plan to study abroad, how do you plan or aim to achieve you life goals, are you traveling abroad to get quality education? what does it mean to you to study abroad? quality education in a serene environment means what to you? quality of education you want and the cost of the education?

If you are able to answer the following personal questions truthfully to yourself then, ask your friend in the South same questions that you have asked yourself and compare his answers to your answers and make up your mind on what you wish to do.

While searching for the information, try to know the name of your friend's university in the south Cyprus and check the university on Webometrics, quality assurance site, membership and accreditation of his university and compare it with your own university you intend to study. your friend told you is Lagos molue they have in TRNC, ask yourself what will a real and dedicated student want to do with nature of bus in TRNC, are you coming to do conductor or why do you have interest in the bus?

From your post, your friend do not tell you anything academic wise which sounds as if your aim of traveling to TRNC or abroad is to dig Gold and Diamond but if thats your plan then NO Gold nor Diamond on TRNC streets. What we have got here is quality education in a crime free environment.

If you dont want to see Molue again nor smell Nigeria Anymore, i will strongly advise you to seek admission in your friend university and be free from what you dont want to see anymore. Unfortunately i am not going to advise you to come to TRNC nor advertise TRNC to you but I will allow you to do the search and answer those questions yourself to make up your mind.

Wish you Luck in life!

Please how do I apply for both tuition and accomodation scholarships? Again is there any scholarship like automatic scholarship<a scholarship granted when full tuition has been made> any scholarship like that??..and in one of your replies to students, you talked about EMU granting accomodation and tuition scholarship to newly admitted female students, how do I go about that too? Thanks,I await your reply..asap please mr Wip..
Thank you for the interest shown in EMU, I cant check your name on admission list, you should know yourself if you applied for admission or not. If you have not applied for admission kindly do so, if you have applied then how do you apply? You can pay Full tuition written on your acceptance letter and if you have scholarship from us, then during registration will adjust your scholarship on system. So you it is advisable to pay FULL FEES on your acceptance letter. To apply for scholarship, you must apply for admission first and then you fill the scholarship form, scan your high school result and send all with your admission letter to me, After confirmation of your result, your scholarship will be evaluated and send to you. For Female applicants will award 50% dormitory discount for all female applicants.

There is nothing like automatic scholarship, when you apply for scholarship, i need to write to your former school and confirm authenticity of your results, then you will be evaluated if your result is real. For further inquiries do not hesitate to contact me.
