My Research Areas: Membrane Separations and Process Safety

Research Topic: Water Reclamation: Particulate Removal and Microbial Risk Assessment

Currently working on a review paper. Because of my coursework, I have not been very much involved in the lab. However, this coming summer will be exclusively for research. So I guess I found this thread at the right time.

My special appreciation to all the learned intellectuals in the house who have been providing invaluable research tips and advice.

Very interesting research areas you have selected. Why not tweak your Research Topic to focus on Water Reclamation and Reuse?

Focus on the following:

Energy and Nutrient recovery
Agricultural and Industrial reuse
Urban reuse including landscape irrigation (non-potable)
Groundwater recharge
Small-scale/decentralized systems

Hello Mr Wip, do admitted students pay per semester on admission for undergrad studies?

Per year undergraduate is 2600$. Student first pay 1500$ as first installment. The balance of 1100$ is then paid via 3 installment through the second semester. Very flexible payment plan!

Fall Entry (September)

Deadlines are usually 1-3 weeks to each of those months. Applicants are advised to apply many weeks earlier so as to go for visa and sort all needed documentation. Actual application deadlines are usually stated on the university website.

I have received your CV. I must commend you have tried and is really nice to see you have started on a good pathway.

I went through the CV, only the first paper in your CV is acceptable abroad. Take note: Only papers published under SCI database is recognized internationally and such paper will give you points and easy access to various funding, scholarships and projects.

Please, focus on publishing your work on SCI journals and direct your attention to the majority of journals published in Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Willey. You may apply to EMU PhD program in Chemistry, hopefully, if your undergraduate CGPA was above 3.7 you may get some scholarships and later on opportunities for a research assistantship.

What an enviable achievement! And you're a NIGERIAN! I am very proud of you sir. Keep making us proud. Nigeria needs more people like you.

I have come to realize that I LOVE research too. I often feel it within me. I just need proper guidance to help me develop and begin to manifest it practically.
Unfortunately, it's very hard to find such a guidance here in Nigeria. Alas, my dilemma!

Are your publications SCI-based? All in web of science?

I am interested in sustainable energy materials for energy storage and energy sources like Solar energy,
Wind energy, Fuel cells, Electrocatalytic processes and Electrochemistry in general. My master thesis is on the Electrodeposition of Refractory metals from ionic liquids.

@wip7 any advise for me concerning a PhD?

I will advise you focus still on Sustainable energy generation and storage and special focus can be directed towards (fabrication of various supercapacitors anode/cathode, design, enhancing the efficiency for larger storage. I have good interests on paper-like and mobile fordable energy storage system).

Also, Microbial and hybrid fuel cells is another key renewable energy research areas which bio-energy can be generated. Hence, you may look at generating and storing!

You will need some chemistry (material synthesis skills)!

ALL OPEN ACCESS JOURNAL charges. The journal has reverted to open access now. Hence authors pay for that.

Kindly publish in the rest of the journals listed earlier for you. It is not a must you have to publish in OPEN ACCESS. Publish in the ones listed here.

The recovered phenolics were purified and processed to be used in cosmetics industries.

Research: Carried out at Cyprus science University and Eastern Mediterranean University. Purified recovered products have been graded and sold to Ataks Cosmetics in Turkey for soap and body lotion formulations.

Actually, I would like to develop a sound academic research skill and subsequently proceed to a PhD degree. I so much admire your research prowess and outputs. I think it is not out of place to desire to be like you in this regard.

Yeah research is the bedrock of any academics and i am an extra ordinary being. I love research, I have supervised and supervising 15 PhD students and good number of master students.

Recently, my research was funded to the worth of 45 million Naira equivalent and by March 2019 am applying for another 300,000USD Turkish Funding for my research.

I currently lecture at Cyprus and am Adjunct Professor with Canadian Universities....with strong and intimidating CV you can match and press any heads....

I will be uploading some of my undergraduate students research here soonest!

I will implore you to focus on research and do well.....

I really wouldn't want to deviate from computing, unless it is a course that has some form of computing component. How I wish I could get something in that direction.

Other university like EMU offer master programs in computer engineering, information management systems and computer science etc. The entire master program at:
EMU is approximate 6500$ provided no foundation course given.
CIU is approximately 3900 euro provided no foundation given.

2. Alternatively, what course(s), offered in CSU, would you suggest for someone who studied computer science at bsc level?

@Wip, I studied Physics at degree level. Can I do electrical and electronics at masters level?
Also as a student, will I be permitted to work and make a living?

There are chances to be admitted to master in EEE, however, if you are admitted you will be given almost 5 foundation courses to bring you updated to engineering.

Students are not restricted from working, however all intending applicants are strongly advised to ensure they are financially secure or have stable sponsor before embarking on this journey.
