In marriage, an emotional manipulative person usually follows a clear and painful pattern. At first it can feel loving and perfect, but over time it becomes confusing, draining, and emotionally damaging. Here’s how an emotional manipulative person commonly behave in marriage, explained simply: 1. The “perfect partner” phase (love-bombing): Before marriage, they often would shower you with love, gifts, attention, and promises. They make you feel chosen and special. This stage creates emotional attachment and trust. 2. Control slowly replaces love after marriage, things shift: They want things done their way. Your opinions start to feel “wrong” or ignored. Small disagreements turn into power struggles Control becomes more important to them than connection. 3. Emotional manipulation & gaslighting: They may deny things they clearly said or did, twist facts to make you doubt your memory. Say things like “You’re too sensitive” or “You’re imagining things”. Over time, you begin questioning yourself instead of them. 4. Lack of empathy: They often dismiss your feelings. Get irritated when you’re sick, sad, or struggling. Make every issue about themselves. Your pain is an inconvenience, not a concern. 5. Constant criticism & devaluation: They may insult you subtly or openly. Compare you to others. Make jokes at your expense. This slowly lowers your confidence and increases dependence on their approval. 6. Double standards: They expect loyalty, patience, forgiveness from you, But offer little accountability. Give excuses for their own behavior. To them the rules apply to you, not to them. 7. Blame-shifting & refusal to apologize In conflicts: Everything becomes your fault. They justify their hurtful behavior. Real apologies are rare or fake (“I’m sorry you feel that way”). Accountability feels impossible. 8. Image over intimacy: They often care more about how the marriage looks to others. Public respect and admiration but, privately, emotional closeness is weak or absent. 9. Withholding affection: They may punish you by silent treatment. You will notice emotional distance from them and a withdrawal of love or intimacy. Affection becomes a tool, not a bond. 10. Cycles of chaos and calm: When you pull away or set boundaries, they may suddenly become kind again, promise to change, act loving to keep control and then the cycle repeats. You cannot fix an emotional manipulative partner with love. Marriage does not soften them, it often exposes them. Their behavior is about power and ego, not partnership. If you’re married to one, focus on protecting your mental health, Setting firm boundaries and seek outside support (trusted people or professionals). |
PastorKosi:My wife has told me all except the last one. But she often tells me she wishes I would travel abroad and base there and just send her and the children maintenance money so she can have peace of mind😩☹️ |
BlackViper:This is where the system works. In Nigeria, a celebrity musician’s child was drown in the swimming pool because of parents negligence in not closing the pool and nobody was held responsible. |

Prosperchuks1344:The video just got me annoyed. They are acting like Igbos are trying to takeover their land whereas they are the ones who voluntarily continue to bear and give their children Igbo names 😠 |
Pierocash:Wike is just playing politics. My problem is the ordinary Ikwere people who still give their children Igbo names but continue to claim they are from Benin. Same way you have the right to sue someone for using the same or familiar name of your company in court to avoid people interacting with them thinking it's you, the Igbos sue the Ikweree people on similar grounds too. |
I just saw a video of some groups of Ikwerre people protesting on the road against Ohanaeze ndi Igbo and the current president who is an Ikwerre man. I think it is high time this matter is settled in court. The Igbos should sue the Ikwerre people in court to stop them from answering and giving their children Igbo names. The Igbos have suffered enough for this so-called south-south Igbos in Nigeria. They disassociate from Igbo but when they commit any crime in Nigeria, the Igbos suffer the consequences because they bear Igbo names. For example, the 1966 coup was spearheaded by Nzeogwu from Delta state and some of his brothers today disassociate from Igbos, but the entire Igbos suffered the consequences of his action because he bears the Igbo name. If the Ikwerre want to be taken seriously about their Benin origin, they should start by changing their names to Benin names. gozmok1:The zeal at which guys write epistles on matters concerning Southeast is amazing. Thousands of people are massacred in the north every day by bandits and Islamic terrorists, but your kind will just glance at the news and move on. But if two people are k*ll in the east, you write an epistle on it. Is it that one life in the southeast is far more vital than a thousand lives in the north? |
Since it didn't happen in South East, nothing much will happen. Life moves on |
The new national anthem is the only solution to the current problem of nigeria. The faster we learn it the better for all of us. Thank you Tinubu, thank you APC 😂😂😂 |

When you were voting for an ancestor as president, what did you expect? |

I will pluck out your eyes so you would not see my failures again - Tinubu

The easiest way to get an appointment in this APC era is to constantly attack Peter Obi or Obidents. |
Next, I will pluck out your two eyes so you won't see my failures again.

Apc years are the worst of its kind |
I was once defrauded by someone I did business with and reported the incident to the police, as the person had disappeared. The only information I had was his phone number. The police claimed they could track him using his phone and asked for 100,000 naira to do so. After waiting for several days, they claimed they had located the person and asked for a mobilization fee of 40,000 naira to apprehend him. However, when we arrived at the location provided by the police, the people there denied knowing the suspect. The police then asked for more money to track the person again. I refused, as I doubted their ability to track him based on their questionable actions. It seemed like they were trying to scam me for more money. |
Ogonimilitant:The way they rushed the demolition was suspicious. So they didn't assess every necessary thing because they commenced demolition |
coolcharm:Exactly, even when some reasonable people were asking the right questions, they were being attacked and tagged obidents. It was obvious the project did not follow due process and was shabby to siphon money. But APC erats were attacking anyone who asked the right questions |
I can recall that an Arise news journalist once asked Umahi during a press conference if they have an EIA done for the project before it was signed off and she was mocked and tagged as disrespectful by some sycophants. |
The federal government has shelved and diverted realignment of Lagos-calabar coastal road projects while also saving the telecommunications infrastructure and submarine cables, among others at the axis. With the presidential directive, Telcos, MTN submarine cables, and workstations along the Okun-Ajah community axis have been saved from demolition after a thorough assessment of the EIA impact on infrastructure and business activities along the Okun-Ajah community axis. The minister of Works, David Umahi, while addressing stakeholders meeting in Lagos on Compensation and Environmental Impact Assessment on the coastal road project informed community groups and traditional institutions in the state, particularly the Okun-Ajah community in Lagos. Earlier, the Okun-Ajah community cried out and warned the federal and Lagos State governments over the alleged illegal variation to the Lagos-calabar coastal highway route which put six villages at the risk of demolition and also the displacement of three traditional kings within the Community if the plan was not shelved. Umahi buttressed the need to redesign the route to save the 600 years ancestry of Okun-Ajah community, adding that, the president, out of compassion to realise the project, added human phase to save property and infrastructure of Okun-Ajah axis while applauding efforts of the president to divert alignment routes to save the communities from the ongoing demolition exercise stretching along the indigenous communities in the state The minister said, following the gazetted alignment, and order of the EIA assessment, over 750 houses were expected to be demolished in the old alignment while 450 houses were marked for demolition in the new alignment after thorough assessment of the project along the Okun-Ajah community axis. Umahi also explained that the project approval followed the process and went through the Bureau of Public Procurement (BBP) after consideration by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) as prescribed by law. Umahi said the project followed certification process and Environmental Impact Assessment Acts and lent credence to it and followed the processes involved. Umahi noted that BPP issued a certificate of no objection on the project to the Ministry of Works in line with the Procurement Act but added that the Ministry of Works took the certificate of no objection to FEC and FEC debated and approved it. https://leadership.ng/fg-halts-lagos-calabar-coastal-road-project-realignment/

seuncyrus:The killers of Deborah a young Christian student in Sokoto who openly brag about their heinous act on video. But till date, none of them have been arrested and prosecuted. Those murderer are walking around freely in Nigeria and no one is harassing them. But the same Nigerian government can go all the way to Kenya to kidnap another Nigerian for incitement. Funny people |
Kobicove:You just said the primary reason he opts for a plea bargain, now what do you think is the primary reason why a Government will consider accepting the plea bargain? Its simply to consider if the information they will get in return from him is worth it. |
Kobicove:You guys seem not to understand what a plea bargain entails. It could mean that he will disclose to the police his other accomplices who are still at large, his sponsors, and how he got access to guns and in return gets life imprisonment instead of the death penalty. However, the information obtained from him will help solve many security challenges in the country. Even Hushpuppy was granted a plea bargain to name his accomplices. |
Throwback:Why are you wailing? You are among APC sycophants |
Death penalty for corrupt politicians |
The funny part of it is that the region that have the lowest mark, has the highest number in the national assembly, judiciary and executive. They rule over the good brains. How can the country grow |
