FamilyRe: Mother-in-law Vs Daughter-in-law;your Opinion Is Needed by wisdomiskey(m): 11:11am On Jul 13, 2015
kennboiy:
A few weeks ago,my neighbour's mother came from the village to visit him and his wife with whom they had two lovely children. All was well until his mom came and after staying for a few weeks,a huge some of cash was missing from the man's wallet. The mother-in-law never supported the marriage right from the beginning because her daughter-in-law was from Ogun state while her son was from Delta state(tribe withheld).
The mother-in-law was vehemently accusing the daughter-in-law of stealing the money and was busy chanting "ole" "ole". The man was in support of his mother as he was busy beating up his wife while his mother was raining insults on his wife, whom he had married for almost four years and almost sent her packing out of the house in the middle of the night if not for the intervention of the elders in the neighbourhood.
I have known this couple for three years now although they have had little misunderstandings over the years but not as intense as of recent, his wife was well known for being kindhearted and respectful and who would have thought that she would have such an ugly character.
Dear nairalanders,do you think the wife actually stole the money or do you think it was the mother-in-law's device of breaking up the marriage.please your matured and unbiased opinions are needed as this ugly incident happened just last week's thursday night, feel free to contribute.

The black race is cursed. Biologically unable to initiate nor maintain

TravelRe: The Disadvantages Of Obodo Oyibo Aka Abroad by wisdomiskey(m): 6:45am On Jul 11, 2015
tai2:
My pity is reserved for Nigerians who look up a random country on the Internet, hear that school fees is cheap or that their women are beautiful and then start looking for how to go there without understanding that the wrong move can lead to serious problems they might not recover from.

Go to Obodo Oyibo with money and a plan to return because if not, hmm, life is tough o. U.S, Canada, Australia, New Zealand are much easier than the 100 or more countries Nigerians carry themselves to in the name of going abroad to make it. A lot of people posting here have seen the softer better side of obodo oyibo probably because they went well-armed financially or otherwise. What will you say of people languishing in 100 or so other countries in the name of "I want to travel".

That America offers its success stories does not mean there are no Nigerians suffering there because they entered without a proper plan or the right migration status. People are saying there are jobs in the United Kingdom for legal residents. Yes of course. But how many people got such permits legitimately asides from the professionals went there on a work permit without using one dagbo means - arrangee marriage and otherwise to secure their residence and status? And does it work for everybody especially these days?

Yet people will be here talking as if the bulk of them followed the rules and were 100% truthful on their visa applications before they got to remain behind in the U.K and elsewhere. Yes, there are exceptions but the Nigerian norm is to enter with one excuse and then find a means to stay behind using other means and a lot of less fortunate people make the mistake of following these routes without the backing that others have or the timing. Claiming asylum might have worked in the 90's it does not work like that in 2016.

My advise is for people seeking to use illegal means to go abroad at all costs to consider their decisions because landing on foreign shores is not the final part of the struggle. If you fail to plan you might end up worse than you started and have to do dirty deeds to survive.

As a lady, you are genetically structured to naturally love a man that treats you well and a cute guy will turn ugly to you when he treats you like poo while that guy you felt nothing for will look so cute and adorable to you after he treats you like a queen

Wrong how a lady's
mind operates is as thus:
rich guy=fine
Caring guy= a broke niggur to be taken advantage of

Alexis86:
were we not created to go to church, work or function in the house of God, and preach the gospel??
All these you have mentioned is all part of the first point. Going to church and spreading the gospel is all part of carrying on in the image of Christ .. hence becoming more and more in the likeness of God smiley
Christianity Etcpurpose by wisdomiskey(op):
We as humans ask ourselves almost every day what our purpose is, why are we here? We often feel unfulfilled and even make the mistake of believing that fulfilling destiny means becoming famous, wealthy or indulging in a immerse fun, popularity and pleasure (I won’t lie but I often felt that way too) Until I decided to go back to Genesis. My thought process was “Every inventor has a reason for the product they create, therefore, God would have stated his purpose for us right from the beginning of time, right from when he created us”.

As I went back to Genesis, 3 things stood out to me as the purpose for our creation:

1. We were created to be in his image and likeness Genesis 1: 26-27
This to my understanding, is the basic core of our purpose. We are designed to carry the resemblance of God. Not necessarily in looks as God isn’t a physical being but rather, in character. Our purpose is to live righteously, reflecting God’s holiness.

2. We were created to be prosperous and enjoy the earth Genesis 1: 28-30
After God made man, he told us to be fruitful and multiply, He told us to have dominion and reign over the earth. This means to enjoy the earth and all it has to offer. Dominion means confidence. It means to claim territory and power over the earth. He created earth for us! it is our territory. When something belongs to you, you have to take care of it so you can enjoy it. God wants us to care for the earth, care for animals, take care of nature and enjoy it, enjoy food, drinks, fruits etc... Travel, see the world and appreciate the beauty of earth.

3. We were created for love and companionship Genesis 2: 18-25
God stated that “its not good for man to be alone”. He wants us to live in companionship with one another. He wants us to be in partnership – marriage! He designed us to love and to receive love. This shouldn’t be limited to our partners of course. We must also love the rest of the human race we must live in friendship and fellowship with one another.

The purpose for our creation which is highlighted in the beginning of time was reinforced and backed up when Jesus came and said the two main laws are to love God and to love our neighbours! Matthew 22: 37-39

We show love to God by keeping his commandments – hence becoming in his image & likeness. We show love to our neighbours by living in companionship, fellowship and love – not living alone and in isolation. How can we possibly be happy if we are lonely?

These two great laws, intertwined, enables us to live in dominion and enjoy our lives.. This therefore is why we are on earth. We must strive to be holy, righteous people. We must love one another and we must enjoy the earth and take care of it. If we truly live this way, there should be no reason for depression and unfulfilment.

Life is not as complicated as we make it.
