Politics › Re: SERAP Exposes Fresh Padding In 2017 Budget by Wiseandtrue(f):
sirequity:
THE Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, (SERAP) has sent an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR requesting him to use his good offices and leadership position “to urgently instruct security and anti-corruption agencies to forward to you reports of their completed investigations into allegations of padding and stealing of some N481 billion from the 2016 budget by some principal officers of the National Assembly.”

“SERAP has also received credible information from whistle-blowers about ongoing attempt by some principal officers of the National Assembly to allegedly steal N40 billion of the N100 billion allocated by your government as ‘zonal intervention’ (also known as constituency projects) in the 2017 budget.”

“$2.5 budget oil bench mark increment which comes up to about N131 billion. The N131 billion will be appropriated to either reduce deficit or increase expenditure or both but unless the spending of the funds is closely monitored and scrutinised, the funds may be diverted, mismanaged or stolen.”

All these were disclosed in a statement by the SERAP asking Buhari to “direct the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami, SAN, and/or appropriate anti-corruption agencies to without delay commence prosecution of indicted officers; and to urgently halt alleged ongoing attempt by some principal officers of the National Assembly to divert N40 billion of the N100 billion allocated by your government as ‘zonal intervention’ in the 2017 budget.”

The organization requested the government to “take the above recommended steps within 14 days of the receipt and/or publication of this letter, failing which SERAP will institute appropriate legal and public-interest proceedings to compel the government to discharge its national and international anti-corruption obligations and commitments in this matter.”

The letter read in part: “Publishing the report of the investigation of the alleged padding of the 2016 budget, and prosecuting suspected perpetrators are absolutely important to avoid another padding in the 2017 budget
, which your government can ill afford.”

“Secrecy in the National Assembly has clearly gone beyond the level permitted by law, and apparently served as the incubator for corruption, while depriving the Nigerian people of a much-needed opportunity to cleanse the National Assembly of persistent allegations of corruption.”

“Closely monitor and scrutinise the spending of N131 billion (accrued from increased oil bench mark) allocated for additional non-constituency projects expenditure, to remove the possibility of corruption.

Nigerian churches are gradually losing their calling. In short, I suspect most of their calls were just missed calls.
That your church member is a musician does not make him a gospel artiste. Gospel artistes minister the Holy Spirit and advance the Kingdom of God through praise and worship. Korede's songs are just 'feel good' songs, even Godwin.
Churches should be careful the kind of spirits they allow people to minister to their members.

Oga, picture is not governance as voting does not mean democracy. People are not elected to pave roads and pay salaries. For heavens sake engineers and accountants do that. The governor is to enhance the overall wellbeing of his people. So don't show us the products of micromanagement. Show us the wellbeing of the least in his sphere of influence. Show us how he has, enlightened and empowered the bottom line. I am doing well for myself. I don't need a governor to take care of me but millions of folks do. How is he affecting their lives positively.

Amosun. The guy is really ''sun'' i.e sleeping

That is one of the areas of ogun state with the highest population due to it's proximity to lagos i.e Ojodu, Alagbole, akute and Onibudo axis. I got the pictures below from a friend living in that area, and it's not even rainy season yet. shocked

Nd all the people who ve commented so far ignored the most incompetent poo in the person of Ifeanyi Okowa ,this dude is a mass of sawdust who only knows how to commission shoprite and renovate parts of road with the inscription "tax payers money at work " at every possible junction so much that we re now tired of seeing all these.

And when inspecting his shabbily patched roads, u will see him flashing his 42 sets of teeth like he knows Wat he is doing.

Public school teachers re on strike and the mofo is not even showings signs of wanting to end this impasse.... All he does is to sample his heavy teeth with his numerous hangers-on telling him all is fine in the state. Of course he is only there to line his pocket. just like his predecessors and so nothing else matters to him

Delta state has been very unlucky with governors with each new one plundering and raping her silly and as we speak,Delta state is in the Intensive Care Unit of Oghara specialist Teaching Hospital with hemorrhaging and may be pronounced dead any moment from now...

Is Lagos not being governed by a mere mortal too?,he is even a Nigerian at that ....

I am a Nigerian citizen who had been through torture, humiliations, and incarceration by dictators in uniform between 1992-1999 before I eventually left Nigeria. I have never doubted the power of justice over legalities.

Here is how I am different and also not different, I am not going to run away from criminals running the Nigerian political space until they are defeated, and their ideologies of greed, bloodiness, and avarice are entirely abandoned and discredited forever (Apology to Bob Marley).

If it takes my life, so be it. If it means another unjust ruling asking for damages for thieves. So be it. We must take our space back from the 10 percenters, drug dealers, certificate forgers, money launderers, political manipulators, and assassins.

Car Talk › Re: Nigerians Can Now Get Their Driver's License Online !!! by Wiseandtrue(f):
ariesbull:
The improved means which was announced by the Director-General of Bureau of Public Service, Dr Joe Abah through his Twitter handle (@DrJoeAbah) has the official costs of a driver’s license at 6,350 naira for 3 years validity and 10,450 naira for 5 years validity.

First-time applicants are expected, as a norm, to have gone through driving school where they must have taken driving tests and issued certificates of proficiency which will allow them to apply for the license. All costs incurred during this process are not covered by the license fee.

The process for renewal is similar to that of new applicants except for the tests and certificates. For renewals and new applications, motorists are to log on to www.nigeriadriverslicence.org where they would initiate their renewal and pay the appropriate fees. The data page is then to be printed and taken to the nearest FRSC office for the necessary confirmations and affirmations.

In all this, however, the interesting part is that the application can now be self-initiated, with only minor confirmations, certifications, and tests to be completed at the branches of the Federal Road Service Corp. This will not only fast-track the process of applying for a license, it blocks, to an extent, avenues for corrupt officials to extort Nigerians.

http://etimes.com.ng/2017/03/25/nigerians-can-now-apply-for-drivers-license-online/
FRSC can still make their verification online too! Why print anything and take it to their office again huh
