This is my advice for all Ladies. I'm sorry If it will annoy you but it's the Truth, you really have to take correction now from Dr witty . Dear ladies, Firstly, if you are still struggling to find a husband at an old age because you are looking for a perfect man, Something is wrong with you. Sorry to say this but it's true. Your propaganda magazine tells you that 'all' men are liars, cheats and useless but let’s be honest here, which is more likely ![]() Is it that there’s something wrong with about 70million African men, OR is there something wrong with one African Woman ![]() Ladies, you certainly will not get into a happy marriage if you always hang out with your so called 'girlfriends' every night at a bar or clubs and waiting for a guy to buy you a drink and take you home. Drinking yourself to stupor every Friday and Saturday nights does NOT make you look like a wife material. You want a good man? Invest in a good wardrobe and dress responsibly. When a man comes to you, smile and be polite, even if he does not fit your mental image of your kind of man. Ladies please and please, stop going into a relationship with a chip on your shoulder. If you believe all men are bad and all men are Dogs, then it will become a self fulfilling prophesy. Remember, No man is perfect! Even you!. You say you can't marry a blue collar guy like a mechanic or carpenter. If a carpenter was good enough to marry MARY THE MOTHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST", why isn't one good enough for you? Do not focus on where a man is, now,but look and see where he has the potentials to be a better person. What’s the point of being beaten every night by some rich, good looking and non caring man? Do you want a future where you will sit in a traffic in your car with sunglasses covering your swollen eyes then you look out of the window and see a happy couple in a road side holding hands and laughing like newly wedded couple even after 12 years of marriage? Please, don’t fake pregnancy or get pregnant to trap him. Your 'perfect' man is out there. Believe, work and pray and you will get him. THINK ABOUT IT : still your one and only love guru: WITTY God bless us, God bless Uniabuja... |
The House of Representatives yesterday summoned Minister of Education Professor Rukayyatu Rufai over the planned conduct of computer based test for the 2013 unified tertiary matriculation examination by the Joint Admission Matriculation and Examination Board (JAMB). Adopting a motion on matters of urgent public importance sponsored by Rep. Ali Madaki (PDP, Kano), the House directed the education ministry and JAMB to suspend the computer based test planned for April this year and revert back to the use of old existing centres and the new secondary schools constructed by various arms of government and allow for more time to equip these schools with necessary infrastructure conduct computer test. The House also summoned Rukayyatu and the JAMB Registrar to appear before the House committee on education to among other things explain the "reason behind the policy somersault that led to change in takes off of the policy from 2015 to 2013; the law that empowers JAMB to contract out the conduct of examination to private firms? And who are these firms." In his motion, Rep. Madaki said that JAMB had fixed the year 2015 as the terminal year to end its paper and pencil based examination as stated by the minister Professor Rukayyatu Rufa'i in November 2012 but "JAMB has now somersaulted and resolves to start computer based test on 27th April 2013." He argued that "the vexed question is how many secondary schools are equipped with computers. Alarmed there is no clear cut modus operandi for the computer based test method because JAMB itself lacks the competence and facilities to conduct the examinations, hence JAMB has contracted private firm to conduct the computer based test (CBT) ? According to him, "the ripples effect has led massive reduction of examination centres despite increased in schools, closure of several registration centres in states like Bauchi, Bayelsa, Kano, Benue, Cross Rivers, FCT, Kaduna, Katsina thereby leading to the disfranchisement of many candidates that would have take the exams." so those of u havin high JAMB SCORE hope dey dis year. 9ja no dey carry last |

The University Of Abuja: A Glorified Secondary School .the University of Abuja was founded on the first of January 1988 by a military decree for it to run fulltime and part time programmes for both regular and long distance courses. Unfortunately, UNIABUJA has failed woefully in meeting academic standards expected of a Federal University. It is on record that the university has one of the lowest number of employed lecturers with some departments having just three lecturers and many of the courses not properly run. Many state universities actually happen to be much better in terms of academic programmes and infrastructure. Till date, the University continues to operate from its temporary site and there is no sign that it will soon move on to its permanent site. The learning environment is not stimulating, management practice is unprofessional, and Lectures are NEPA- like; on and off. This background informed the reasoning behind the Federal Minister of Education, Professor Ruquayaat Rufai's decision to intervene. This intervention took the shape of an order that certain courses being offered by the University including Medicine and Electrical Engineering be removed from the course list. Some locals describe the university as a glorified secondary school with corrupt and poorly qualified lecturers acting as the heads of this so called higher learning institution. Admission into the University is controversial and seriously compromised by various corrupt elements. “It is a cash and carry situation, once you have your cash you can buy admission into the school” said one respondent who didn’t want to be named. Whatever the case, it might be safe to conclude that UNIABUJA just like many of her sister universities is living to her true status as a “glorified secondary school” due to the poor quality of programmes they run. Of all places, a glorified secondary school is not fitting for the nation’s capital and it seems the Minister understands this. The implication is clear due to the cancellation of those particular courses and transfer of affected students to other universities. It is obvious UNIABUJA is not a fully fledged university yet and the future of Nigerian youths cannot be sacrificed for cheap gain. What is at stake here is not just the reputation of this University, but the standard and integrity of the Nigerian University system as a whole. The sooner something is done about it, the better. Some students of the university who embarked on a peaceful protest to the Minister’s office lamented that their plight in the university will only worsen if the proposed courses are scrapped although they admitted that the University is a serious write off. One of them openly said her friends laugh at her for attending the university and that she is ashamed to tell people openly about the School she attends. The spotlight is on the Ministry of Education to solve this crisis in Nigerian Education reflected in the University of Abuja. The future of our youth should not be made to suffer due to the failings of our public institutions... Its been two months and five days since the students of University of Abuja were unceremoniously asked to go home and the University was shut down due to student unrest over students protest as to the non-accreditation of certain courses. It would be the second time in 2012 alone that the institution would be shut down over the same issue. Now, we are in the last days January 2013, the school is yet to re-open and worst of all, there is no word from school authorities as to any date of resumption, let alone exams. The protests which began on Monday, 19th November 2012, which was the scheduled date for the commencement of the University's second semester exams, was ignited mainly by aggrieved students of the Faculty of Engineering due to non-accreditation of the engineering courses which has been ignored for long. The protest began on the main campus and quickly spread to the mini-campus in Gwagwalada where other students joined in, lamenting over poor learning conditions and infrastructure. These protests continued the next day, with the students barricading the Lokoja-Abuja expressway. Security operatives had to be called in to take charge of the situation, and on the 21st of November 2012, the school was shutdown by a circular from the office of the University's Registrar. Members of the Nigerian Army were then called in to evict the students out of the hostels, having them scampering away in different directions, with two cases of female students being beaten mercilessly by the soldiers. University of Abuja turned 25 on January 1st, 2013, but it is sad to say that the deplorable state and the latest trouble beguiling the institution is hardly anything to roll out the drums to celebrate a silver jubilee. Burdened by the constant strikes, both internal and general, mal- administration, and inadequate monitoring, the institution has known little or no development in its 25-year existence. Unfortunately, the students have been the ones to bear the brunt of such mis-governance. In an attempt to lessen this, the students of University of Abuja took to Social Media Network - Twitter to raise these long- unanswered questions. The aim of these visibly aggrieved students was to tweet about the apparent aimlessness of the University, ask for precise dates of resumption and 2nd semester exams for the 2011/2012 academic year and generally, not to be taken for granted. UnibujaInPeril and constant mentions of (Special Adviser to the President on New Media), Reuben Abati and Federal Ministry of Information, their goal was clear; to get their voices heard and to get the ear of the government. Tweets like: "I have slept 30years worth of sleep from December till date, thanks to Unibuja...I don tire # UnibujaInPeril" "1 word: FRUSTRATED. 1 slogan: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. 1 Wish: TO SEE A BETTER UNIABUJA. Is that too much to ask? # UnibujaInPeril "We fight for Admission, fight for seats, fight for grades, now we are fighting to continue fighting. #UnibujaInPeril "We are tired of being left in the 'Streets', we want to be in our lecture rooms!!! #UnibujaInPeril" These students have suffered for too long. They were driven out like refugees from their hostels by soldiers, not because they were being naughty, but because they were not given their bread and they asked for it. This today is the plight of Students of the University of Abuja. We want to go back to school, we want to have a better education, we DO NOT want our futures consumed in this idle stay at home.
