DomPerignon:Don't mind that dude. I wonder how big the Rock he is living under is. Surely big enough to have totally blocked his vision to prevent him seeing the reality on ground in Nigeria and the alliance, starting from their Messiah Obi, that Obidients are very happy to form with Atiku, Malami, Gumi etal just to ensure "Yoruba President" does not endure beyond 2027. |
Omowale2023:Keep lying to yourself. Nothing is more uppermost in the minds of Obidients than getting even with Yorubas. They will cut their nose to spite their face over our matter and I don't know how big the rock you are living under is to have made you miss how, even on Nairaland, they continue to insist better a Northerner is President than "Yoruba President" continue beyond 2027. Why some of you have a predisposition t For playing to the gallery and trying to please everyone with politically correct talk, that never matches the reality of Nigeria, is beyond me. Simply speak the truth and shame the Devil. You can then look at yourself in the mirror with pride. |
Omowale2023:If the Devil is the sole contestant against Tinubu in 2027 then Obidients will happily and willingly vote for him enmasse instead of Tinubu. Tinubu, despite all the Igbo Governors been favourably disposed to him continuing beyond 2027, is not expecting miracle from the SE because, like everyone, Tinubu knows the mindset of the ordinary people of the region. |
CyynthiaKiss:Nothing like that. If the Country is to be divided then it must be along regional lines. 💯% guaranteed. Yorubas will not agree to be in a Country with you lot. Apart from terrorism, refusal to move into modernity and being religious zealots, Northerners are not hateful or worse to live with than you guys who will always fight, hate, demarket and disunitedly badmouth your country and fellow countrymen you are in national union with once they do not allow you control or subjugate them. We are not even separated now, yet look at the hateful shege you are showing Yorubas every second of every day while never letting us breathe. Who'd want a continuation of that if we had the chance to be free of your menace forever? Your emptily rebellious, divisive and senseless 'rebel without a cause' disruptive behaviour is well-known. No one will want to be with you guys if Nigeria splits. In contrast, given freedom to choose, many Nigerians would wish to join tolerant, accomodating, moderate and hospitable Yorubas in national union if they could and geography allowing. They know Yorubas would never bully, mistreat or try to subjugate them. Proven fact given how SW is choice destination of migration of all Nigerians while your SE is avoided like a region full of Ebola. It is Yorubas that will benefit the most if Nigeria splits because of the saying "it is good to be good" since the best brains and most productive/progressive people in Nigeria will simply choose Oduduwa nation to live in as the land of opportunity, progress, tolerance and equity. Ditto the SS as most of their ethnic groups are progressive people. |
aswani:God bless you. They do wrong or are found guilty of misinformation and lies. Their response, entirely aberrant, is always to double down in obdurate defence of their discredited lies, fake news and wrongdoing. I too agree with the bolded. |
codemaniacs:What is this rubbish you just posted? |
Samtob90:😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂. Unfortunately for him, Chimamanda and her family have lived abroad like forever so Obi will labour in vain lol. @Topic. Condolences to Chimamanda, her husband and family over this devastating loss. Tinubu is correct. No loss is as painful as that of a parent losing their child. May God grant her and her family the strength to beat this heavy loss. RIP to her Son. |
ottersberger:Forget the long talk. Days now since you started this fake news thread. Produce one credible link or shut up. Abi is it that you lack the capacity to feel shame? |
ottersberger:You mean same way you people demanded we prove Buhari did not die to be replaced by Jubrin from Sudan as you all alleged? I guess the pako school or "higher Institution" you attended in Upper Iweka or Abakaliki did not teach you that "the burden of proof lies upon him who affirms". You make an allegation you are yet to defend with even one credible link, for days now, and you demand I should verify that allegation for you? You lot are something else. It has been conclusively proven you peddled fake news. Give it a rest and own your shame alone.

@OP. Well-said. My quick investigation shows it is viable and can be profitable . It would also address the problem of satisfying local demand and inhibit importation. Those are the considerations that matters as a basis for Lagos to consider the feasibility of this option. ChatGPT provides a robust answer to the question: "Can Lagos embark on the profitable and cost-effective production of steel to address local demand and end it's import into Nigeria?". The simple answer is yes but with several caveats and challenges. I have provided a snippet of Charlie's response but anyone can pose same question to it , or specific variations, and get the full response which shows a broader picture of challenges to surmount. To be honest, these are the efforts we must make at State and federal level to precipitate an age of industrialisation and manufacturing towards gaining a self-sustaining economy.

grandstar:Well said. I started the thread below a while back . Is it not now obvious the American criminal defense attorney and former state and federal prosecutor, Ron Filipkowski, who raised concerns over the mental stability of United States President Donald Trump may have a valid point that Trump is mentally unstable? Like you stated, what he announced should never be uttered publicly because they are offensive and only a lunatic can make such provocative announcement tantamount to telling a man "I will enter your house, jail you and take your wife, family and asset as my own to do as I please with". Like another poster said, no one would have believed this would be the reality of the world even a year ago. Yet I am not surprised . We all know history to understand how Hitler carried Germany along in evil , unopposed and as Trump is doing, to the shame and regret of the German nation to this day. Trump will leave the stage but the damage he is doing, that Americans are abetting, will linger to stain and haunt the USA for a long time. Human beings, Hitler etal for example, tend to see today only and not tomorrow or even ten years ahead. https://www.nairaland.com/8553042/threat-invade-nigeria-trump-may |
omoredia:Again, what concerns Islamic terrorists in this matter let alone whether they like Trump or not? Is Venezuela under siege from Islamic terrorists? Does Venezuela even have a significant and terrorist Muslim population? Did the USA go into Venezuela to liberate Venezuelans from Islamic terrorist or did they cynically invade the nation to prevent the free choice of the Venezuelan Government in deciding who they sold their oil to i.e China? Did you know that Maduro met with Chinese envoy the very day before he was abducted by the USA in a development many analysts say forced the hand of the USA to act before Maduro and Venezuela officially entered into an oil trade pact with China? Everything the USA is doing under Trump, from trade tariffs on Soya to lawless military incursions into sovereign nations, is driven by the fear of China emerging as the new global, military and economic superpower of the World thus relegating the USA. Whereas people like you keep barking ignorantly about Islamic terrorists. Sad thing is that the USA cannot actually retain her dominance as the pre-eminent nation of the world because China's population, burgeoning technological superiority and discipline of her people, in comparison to Americans and all others, means Trump and the USA are fighting a losing and hopeless battle because China will inevitably win the War. |
Namaster:Just saying that they may not have identified suspect/s yet. Everything should not be about conspiracy theory that proposed every scenario is exactly the same. |
omoredia:Lol. Seems you are confused. This is about Venezuela. What concerns "Islamic terrorists" in this matter? Is Venezuela an Islamic nation or suffering from Islamic fundamentalism and terror? Some of you are so far up the butt of Trump, who has come and will definitely leave the stage discredited and loathed, to the extent you now feel you must blindly defend all his actions with scaremongering about "Islamic terrorists" even when the topic is about daylight robbery of the oil asset of Venezuela for USA's total control and use.

Yampotatocarrot:Yes they should look into the legitimate point you raise. Yet, complicity of State officials is no excuse for those found wanting in terms of the illegality of their actions. Ignorance is no excuse in law. You cannot claim paying a LASG official to rent space on a walkway or public space, for example, is tenable excuse to not be removed from such space that commonsense indicates is for pedestrian and public use. Not erection of stalls, joist, Pako houses etal. |
Victor Osimhen is a spoilt brat, a divisive individual and diva who thinks he is superior to all others and that the National team is about him. Obi is a condescending twit also who thinks he is Oyinbo. I say this because those who know the UK, where Obi played most of his football, will know this argument he makes comes from his adoption of thinking like Brits in football. It was the same way throwback British coaches (like Sam Allardyce), the British press and pundits used to say they likes the "aggression" and "mean side" (thuggery in reality) of the likes of Wayne Rooney, Lee Bowyer (a discredited racist thug who fought his team mate on the pitch as Osimhen nearly did), Joey Barton, who bullied Eniola Aluko and caused her depression, etc, etc because it helped them be "winningly competitive". Meanwhile most of those guys had terrible, discredited unfulfilled and short careers. Whereas , If Obi still retained an African perspective over issues he would know Osimhen is wrong and to be condemned because many wonderful footballers exist who play with professional and controlled aggression and do not lose it on the pitch like lunatics especially against their teammates to the point of insisting they must leave the pitch. This includes wonderful players like Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Achraf Hakimi, Vitinha, Dembele, Michael Essien, Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure, Mo Salah etc, etc. Obi is making the same argument popular in Britain at the time that some some of us criticised back then because the British media and football world (coaches and pundits etal) used that very argument to excuse the awful, thuggish, sometimes violent and unprofessional behaviour of the likes of Rooney, Bowyer, Barton, John Terry etal that upset team mates, opposition and even standards of decency for young children looking up to these guys. Osimhen bleeped up big time Obi is showing agbaya fck up also linking his behaviour to "winners aggression" when Osimhen showed nothing but lack of emotional control, poor grace and total disregard for others, because he fails to understand there is no I in team and our national football team isn't about Osimhen and his ten 'assistants'. https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS5QPEwxE/ |
Namaster:No.it may simply be that shooter/s Is/are not known and identified as at time of the report. https://www.sltrib.com/news/2026/01/07/lds-church-funeral-shooting/ The shooter or shooters then fled north on Redwood Road, Salt Lake City police Chief Brian Redd said. There was no suspect in custody as of about 11:15 p.m. |
donareal:Unrelated. This is about physical structures, like kiosk and POS stalls, storage shed and even Pako houses erected on sidewalks, busy junction, underneath bridges, unoccupied plots and different types of public spaces etal where they then affect visibility, drainage, public safety, movement of people and traffic etc. @Topic Lagos needs decongesting. It is now a victim of it's own success and the failings of Governors of other States. The smallest state in Nigeria has no business hosting the largest number of Nigerians (23 million people plus) who need to feed and survive. While I cannot blame Nigerians who troop into Lagos to try and earn to survive, Nigerians should understand that Lagos leaders also have a duty to act and preserve the workability and efficiency of Lagos as the megacity it now is. Meaning we should all stop complaining when Lagos is forced to move aggressively against illegal use of public space now rampant in the State. |
nubiangod9:Your statement applies to the entire crew around Buhari to include Emefiele, Tunde Sabiu, Hadi Sirika, Babachir Lawal and literally hundreds of others. The most kleptomaniac regime in the post-1999 history of Nigeria by far. |
HacheNoire:I think many knew Trump is capable of all we are seeing from him today. Most surprising is how he has been able to carry so many leaders along in Imperialist lunacy. Or perhaps it's a case of Birds of a feather flock together. I.e Trump is a magnet for the worst and most repellent in US leadership cadre. |
KobolanderSegun:You're not a stakeholder in a nation if you are not a citizen of that nation and cannot vote to choose the leaders of that nation. Experience with a Nigerian neighbour in America does not make him a stakeholder in Nigeria same as you don't become a stakeholder in the USA because you interacted with an American in Lagos. |
Kemetian:Well-said. What we are witnessing is simply imperialism 2.0 no one thought we'd see in this day and age ever. Actually responded to this post but it was yanked since Nairalanders proposes and Mods, as if Gods, disposes partisanly and dictatorially like Trump and USA.

Is that it? Trump and the USA won't be dictating what God Venezuelans should worship or declare homosexuality a criminal offence carrying the punishment of life imprisonment? The USA should stop issuing patronising preambles аnd simply declare Venezuela, a previously soveriegn nation, a conquered extension of America they will fully 'Americanise' whether Venezuelans want that or not. This development, again, simply confirms the world is full of self-serving and cowardly leaders. When the bully and monster Trump leaves power they'll then all suddenly find their voices again. |
