uboma: I can see you wanna argue. What was the essence of the advise in the first place? For you to go and get the feedback from the referees' banks to GTBank? Or to erode further your confidence in GTBank which is already obvious from your earlier comments? That so called senior staff should have managed you well instead of advising you to go to those banks. Now tell me, what did u achieve from the visit? has your references returned to gtb or have u been able to withdraw from your account? Well, I guess that's y GTB is not the best bank to open a current account with. |

blink182: This is what you should have said instead of condemning the bank. The fault is not from them but from the referees you provided. When banks get referee confirmation from other banks, I am sure they simply throw the letter away. Start asking trusted friends and family with Gtb current accounts to provide the referral and make sure the person is not using a salary account. Make sure it is a full current account. It is that easy. Bros ur stressing urself, go to a marketer (confidentially), they always have pre-signed references, get one then take it to their Head in the unit to confirm with his signature, you would be done in 48 hours or less My reply: Yes I did that. That's how I got one of my references from a GTB current account holder. The second reference he gave me got complicated in that the signature was not regular - said the referee had changed his signature n his mothers bank hasn't updated the change n all that so that referee didn't fly. Got my own second referee from a GTB current account holder of up to 6 months duration n I'm told their headquarters has to lift the restriction. That's what I'm waiting for now; their headquarters. The bottom line is the process is too stressful n my money I need to execute a contract and a bank is holding unto it jeorpadizing the contract. |

uboma: lol. Going to your referees' bank to inquire was an unnecessary move. Communication between banks are usually done in a professional manner. If you can, why not just get inhouse references to avoid the continued delay. Getting in-house reference u have to know people that own current account in the bank-it happens I don't know many, the one I knew has an account that's run for just three months so can't referee someone. Eventually got the 2 in-house referees (getting them was a prject on its own) n they said its their headquarters that has to lift restriction. Now waiting for whenever their headquarters lifts the restriction. Going to the referees bank was an advice by GTB bank staff. |

uboma: Personally i am not a fan of GTBank but i want to inform you that the problem is currently facing is not from GTBank. You cant have access to yr account now because your referees are yet to be cleared. The delay is from the banks which your referees currently use. These banks are expected to reply GTBank as to whether such current accounts are in order and can be used as a reference. Most times its takes a long time before sending such responses. So pls GTBank shouldnt be blamed for your inability to withdraw from your account.
And like you said, yes, getting inhouse reference is the next best step to take... Had to go to my referees bank with my referee n they convinced us GTB bank hasn't sent the request bc they respond in a maximum period of 1 week. Informed GTB bank of this n they said its their headquarters or something that had to clear the restriction. |

BigBossMan: YOU NEED A NEW BANK! I STARTED BANKING WITH STB/UBA BEFORE I ENTERED THE UNIVERSITY, DURING MY UNDERGARDUATE YEARS I USE GTB- THY WERE VERY EFFICIENT USEFUL TO ME. DURING MY NYSC DAYS I USED SKYE BANK- ALSO VERY USEFUL BACK THEN. AFTER MY NYSC I HAVE ADDED ZENITH BANK, OCEANIC/ECOBANK, STERLING BANK, FIRST BANK, THEY ARE ALL GOOD AND THEY SERVE THEIR PURPOSES IN ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. HOWEVER, IN THE LAST TEN YEARS I HAVE OPERATED GTB THE MOST AND I AM A PLATINUM CARD HOLDER. IN 2013, I OPENED A DIAMOND BANK ACCOUNT AND IN A FEW DAYS TIME THE ACCOUNT WILL BE ONE YEAR OLD. SO FAR SO GOOD, DIAMOND BANK HAS BEEN THE BEST OF ALL BECAUSE OF EASY ACCESS TO CREDIT! I USE TO PRAISE GTB A LOT BUT NOW I KNOW THAT DIAMOND IS THE BEST BANK IN IN NIGERIA (IMHO) Thanks bro. Diamond was recommended to me some pal too. hope i'll enjoy their services. |

Happened to meet a someone I know who runs a current account with them to referee me n she told me her experience of having to wait for a very long time before hers was done. I feel warning people will stop some other person from passing through the ordeal as I happened to meet some of their customers who complained they went through even worst ordeal when they opened their account. |

Sports › Re: 2015 AFCON: We`ve Done It Before, We Willdo It Again – Amodu by wordychap: 4:19pm On Oct 20, 2014 |
DAVECENA: As a result of CAF’s regulation for the AFCON 2015 qualifiers, the Super Eagles need to score three goals in Brazzaville on Nov.15 and not concede more than one to steady their campaign for Morocco. This is because they lost 2-3 to the Congolese in Calabar on Sept. 6. CAF will take into consideration the team that scored the most away goals in the fixture involving both teams, should both teams finish on equal number of points. Once Nigeria hits three goals in Pointe Noire, and does not concede more than one, all they need do to qualify is defeat South Africa in Uyo on Nov. 19 to qualify for the tournament.
source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/10/2015-afcon-weve-done-will-amodu/ This is not necessarily true. With 2-0 against Congo we'll qualify ahead of them if we win our last match against SA. CAF considers goal difference between 2 teams tied on points before checking number of goals scored. I hope this is communicated to d team management clearly so they would not be pressing for a third goal n allow a counter attack against us. |
Sports › Re: Iheanacho, Martins And Uche Set For Eaglesreturn by wordychap: 8:07pm On Oct 19, 2014 |
The beginning of good for Nigerian football was sacking keshi, next is inviting our present best legs, viz uche, n iheanacho. As for martins I personally think he's performing bc he's playing in a league that's not as strong as d EPL, laliga etc. That said, qualification is possible under AMODU. Thank God keshi was sacked! |
Sports › Re: Why NFF Was Right To Sack Keshi by wordychap: 8:04pm On Oct 16, 2014 |
NFF is def right to sack keshi, d man is tactically inept. He graduated from 'ball to wingers, cross to goal mouth, scramble for goal' to midfielders sending long pass to a lone 9 to bully his way to score. Well in d second half of our game against sudan, he did bring some innovation but it was too late to keep him in d helm of affairs. AMODU is better than keshi tactically n has a better coach to player rapport n will most likely qualify us. |

Otobroto: Apart from Nigeria, looking at it wholistically, what makes you feel Egypt will take that slot? Anyway, I learnt it is only one slot for best loser, and not 3. Come to think of it, even Ghana will not want to risk it, as Ebola is closer to them than South Africa. Another option might be Egypt, but how stable is Egypt politically? SA is most likely going to host it, Ghana taking d 2017 hosting rights. Egypt though occupy d best losers spot may not get it based on d games they have left. Mozambique n Ivory coast are also ahead of Nigeria in best placed 3rd team, ivory coast having d brightest prospect in that they on 6 point play d weak Sierra Leone next n Cameroon- which might already have qualified by then, last. Nig should forget dt best losers spot, 10 points will not get it, our only chance of qualifying for this afcon is contending for 2nd place with Congo. Keshi's sack is in d right direction bc our best legs will probably be invited to play Congo n a 2 goal win is possible. |
Sports › Re: Super Eagles May Still Qualify Even With 7 Points by wordychap: 6:28pm On Oct 16, 2014 |

selingel: In African football, anything can happen. Though more logical, but NFF can lobby. Since we like making things difficult for ourselves, we may still succeed. Besides, how has CAF addressed such situation before? Those are the stuffs we need to know... Well CAF has just approached Ghana to consider hosting it. Nig should focus on qualifying in 2nd place or kiss afcon bye bye. |
Sports › Re: Super Eagles May Still Qualify Even With 7 Points by wordychap: 4:34pm On Oct 16, 2014 |
Enjoyment1: If South Africa agrees to host, then, this is good news for Nigeria, as 1st, 2nd, and probably 3rd in the group, may be considered. It then means that: if the group should end this way... 1. South Africa 11pts 2. Congo 10 pts 3. Nigeria 7pts 4. Sudan. 3 pts. Nigeria maybe considered, knowing that South Africa is now the host. Morocco will no longer have any place or role in nxt year's nation's cup, which may come with a ban as well on them. South Africa as the host, irrespective of position, may now be seen as the host, while the extra slot, will have to be filled up, by third position in thesame group A, thats has South Africa, Congo, Nigeria, and Sudan. Note, this does not affect the best loser from qualifying (third best loser from all the groups). Meanwhile, NFF may have a role to play, in ensuring this happens, by lobbying CAF (as a back door qualification hope). Knowing that, CAF can still apply politricks, and look elsewhere. In a normal circumstance, and from history books, this is how it should be. It'll be more logical and fair to all other groups if 2 best losers are picked for qualification. |

chrisley024: So what happens now that Congo got a point 2day? We have to win our remaining 2 matches with a wide margin. That can only happen if keshi is sacked n a new coach comes in to bring our best legs; Ike uche, martins, iheanacho |
