Foreign AffairsRe: US Election: Pompeo Promises ‘Smooth Transition To Trump’s Second Term’ by wowo2: 10:44pm On Nov 10, 2020
I used to ask myself why can’t African countries be like the UK or USA in terms of democracy...now I know it is not an African problem. We are not cursed, it is just that we have more leaders in the mould of Trump. Now America has its Trump, let me grab some popcorn and be watching the news from the latest banana republic..
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome: It's Not Trump That They Hate, It's You, The Christians by wowo2: 8:09am On Nov 08, 2020
In Luke 10:25-37, the parable of a Good Samaritan, Jesus implored us - Love your neighbour as yourself - and He demonstrated to us in the parable that we do this not only when it is convenient for us. Your neighbour does not have to be another Christian..it includes people who do not look or think like you do. Christians that see child separations and banning of particular people from entering the USA or clear hatred of the other and are OK with it although as a society, are able to assist are like the haves or the rich that Jesus refers to when he said - in Mark 10:25, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

He has been around for a long time as far back as 2006 he was CTO of mtn or so. His father was a staff of OAU where he also attended university. His father is Yoruba but his mother white, I think European. TORIOLA..."Because of wealth" by the way his name is pronounced.

I don’t get it. How will there be if they have no such grievances...Please feel free to lecture me on their frustrations especially on killings of white people disproportionately in the hands of law enforcement then we can analyze why they are not having protests or riots to the same level.

These people you are worshipping are the ones who get together in mobs of hundreds to lynch black people in the USA as recently as the 20th century. Heard of the black Wall Street massacre in the USA?

TripleOh7:
I was specific when I asked for examples in the US

And yes, race matters here because it is a race-induced riot.
Foreign AffairsRe: President Trump Gets Censored On Twitter For His Tweet Threatening Americans by wowo2: 3:10pm On May 30, 2020
People will protest for varying reasons and there will be different levels of grievances and frustration levels. Aside the fact that people with ulterior motives will join in demonstrations, riots can be an extreme also for ordinary people who feel angry and hopeless.

Race does not matter. I am sure you are aware that Revolutions by ordinary people leading to horrible massacre and decimation of royal families and those in authority have happened in “white” countries.

TripleOh7:
What I'd like to know is if this also happens in white dominated protests in the US.
Foreign AffairsRe: President Trump Gets Censored On Twitter For His Tweet Threatening Americans by wowo2: 2:21pm On May 29, 2020
I do not subscribe to violence. Even if causes I hold dear turn violent, count me out.

I am only stating the obvious, the inevitable. It Is easily explicable that disastrous events like this will occur....

TripleOh7:
If you are going to go violent, then burn down the police station. Burn down government buildings.

How is harming innocent businesses an answer to this?

That's what I don't get.

Using the opportunity to steal is condemnable.
Foreign AffairsRe: President Trump Gets Censored On Twitter For His Tweet Threatening Americans by wowo2: 12:29pm On May 29, 2020
“A riot is the language of the unheard.”- MLK

TripleOh7:
Actually, Trump's right.

The looting and violence dishonours the memory of the deceased.

And the looters are making things worse for the black man.

They call you a monkey, a thief and a brigand and you go right ahead and prove them right.

So so wrong.

#edited

For those inclined to quote me without comprehension, I am against shooting of any protesters or looters. And the killer cops should face justice.

The part of Trump's speech that I supported has been quoted by me here.

So read to understand.

To be fair, if she has been in isolation for almost 40 days it needs further investigation.

The tests can give false positives. If we know how many times she has been tested one can deliberate on if that is the case here.

If she says she is a british citizen, she should get in touch with their embassy to see if they can organise independent tests for her.
CrimeRe: Police Arrest Illegal Chinese Miners In Zamfara (Photos) by wowo2: 3:29pm On Apr 27, 2020
There is no control over some state resources/minerals so the governors have people tap it for them. After paying the people illegally helping them mine them, the money goes into the Governors pockets. They may share some with cronies. It is what is happening.

Is it natural forgetting ones dream(s) before day breaks? I am in my early 30s.

I can't sleep without dreaming either good or bad but it baffles me why I can't or won't be able to remember anything from the dream when I wake up.
You are either too tired when you go to sleep or you are drinking too much before bed. Thank me later.

I do not have anything to say again. Everybody has an opinion about everything but give them the reins of responsibility and all they display is show of authority - their lack of ideas become apparent. This is the case of every government that has been in office in Nigeria. And it is most likely the case if YOU get into office..

That's an attack. For crying out loud, some of these foods were donated or bought in large quantities. Mass production within a short time will have flaws. Unfortunately, people in some parts of the state capital have not collected.
The stones and sticks in beans are what we can easily see with naked eyes. I will not be surprised if there are unseen harmful substances in the mix. Afterall, we are fine to easily dismiss quality and common professionalism in everything.

It is why nothing work.s in Nigeria.

The politicians and their goons are the ones i see that feel they are entitled.
If we want to practise democracy as its original proponents do, then take care of your citizens. Otherwise, what exactly is the point of being in positions of responsibility.

Outside of paying salaries, there is absolutely no need of the government and its bodies as they can only take care of the following:
President and his family
VP and his family
All their advisers and families
Ministers and their families
Governors, deputies, commissioners, their advisers and families
Legislature members and their families
All political office holders and their families

Pls add others that matter that I have omitted.

Government has a role to play. They regulate charities. They recognise the role of charities in the society is helpful to the government and they aslo contribute about a quarter of the value of funds a charity has to it.

budaatum:
Governments do not provide food banks. It is individual citizens who donate to them so they have food to bank usually as a consequence of government policy that impoverishes people.

If we want food banks in Nigeria too, we just have to donate to them. It comes under love your neighbours as you love yourselves.

TravelRe: Post Brexit UK Visa/Job Policy: No Visas For Low-Skilled Workers by wowo2: 11:19pm On Feb 19, 2020
From the few comments I have read, it appears some people may be misinterpreting this new policy. Especially the employer part of the conditions which implies that you must already have a job offer with a minimum salary before you can be granted entry.

Tier 2 Work Visa which is similar to the policy already exists. This new one appears to target non skilled people coming to work in the UK from EU countries that pre brexit, can migrate to the UK unhindered.

Some years ago, the UK had work permits that did not require you to have a job offer before applying for entry visa. They cancelled it due to many reasons - amongst which is the fact that even though it was meant for highly skilled immigrants, they realized many on the visa were working non skilled jobs.

It is when they are directly affected by the bigoted policies and behavior of president Trump that they scream blue murder. Otherwise they will be licking Trump’s feet and making excuses for him...he sleeps with their wife and they will be like - “oh well, it is ok because he is my president”...God sent!

Americans have no principles and have proven that democracy not working in Africa is not really to do with Africans. Democracy given the conditions for it to fail will fail or produce a demagogue regardless of the country...enough rant for this morning smiley

Roundabout do waste time,, I think it help to beauty not to solve traffic issues
I actually agree with slimfit1...cars approaching the roundabout should give way to oncoming cars on their left..the concept works...t least in other countries.

Although saying that, the day I entered the roundabout and was dragging it with car coming from my right, when I am to his left and he should av stopped, the guy was threatening to beat me up..

Did some digging a few years back and could see some Nigerians families affected by the World trade centre 9/11 from the names. This was truly an event that affected the whole world.

List is not conclusive and there may be others of Nigerian heritage affected - but it would be great we remeber about how connected the world is - and have their families in our thoughts and prayers.

I had links to the articles on cnn and Fox News that I got the names from but unfortunately the links are no longer active.

Take him to court and sue him for both Harassment and Blackmail. The court system in Nigeria may be lacking but still sue him...make it official.
