Travel / Re: London Metropolitan University's Visa-Licence Revoked by wowo2: 12:44pm On Aug 31, 2012
Honestly, I find it difficult to believe that students without stay are in a UK school.

Are they obtaining degrees in another person's name - using ori-olori - or their visas have expired?

It is difficult to believe the former; and in case of the latter, i would think the school would have been communicating them and threatening withdrawal of access to the school facilities etc.

I don't understand and will appreciate if someone in the house can explain...
Politics / Re: People Jam-packed In A Lagos BRT Bus (Pics) by wowo2: 9:46am On Aug 31, 2012
i think a machine be it car, bus, train or chopper has a maximum capacity it is designed for. Am sure this is displayed prominently in the case of buses. It will be wrong to say a bus cannot take a load up to its capacity if it says 99 standing and only 98 are standing; also it will be unlawful if it takes on 100 standing if it says 99 standing.

2600 students sent out of a school because they are foreigners and 25 of a sample of 101 foreign students had a stay or english skills which are questionable?

UK must be the No 1 3rd world country in the world!

Celebrities / Re: Jim Iyke Is Angry With Linda Ikeji (Twitter Fight!) by wowo2: 6:54pm On Aug 17, 2012
Oh well, that was a great 5 mins of not worrying about lack of good roads and only 20 hrs of power in my area.

GEJ when are you fixing this power problem completely and good roads. By the way i read that rain is a major factor of road destruction abroad - why are our roads so flat that they collect rain instead of letting them go into the drains or at least, we make the roads so that they bend upwards a little in the middle...

Wait o....could Linda Ikeji also be Laila Ikeji? smiley

Na wa o....

Strangely, it's beginning to sound on here that to err is no longer human. Free the culprit and crucify the victims - an irrational reaction.

Even if the victims were murderers, you are committing a crime if you kill them!

8 of 27,000 to family....OK
How many to friends and their families?
How many to political associates and their families?
How many to business associates and their families?

I reckon his family does not include those of his friends of other politicians.
Politics / Re: Okupe Blasts El-Rufai & Bakare Over GEJ Resignation Call by wowo2: 11:24am On Aug 09, 2012
Nigeria is a nation of talk and chop.
If you are talking it is because you are not chopping; and if you are chopping, you can not be talking against the authority at the same time.

If GEJ and his minions have a tiny little bit of the 1790s America's George washington brain in their heads, they will buckle up, do some real work and let what they do to change the lives of ordinary Nigerians speak for them. Instead, they are barking and telling all those who are talking to join them in the party. Bunch of something i don't wanna say...

too plenty

Jazzpa: Happy they are doing great for their respective countries.
Methink Nigeria should diversify their focus on games other than football and track events into things like archery, shooting, hockey and long jump..may even go as far as sending our professionals to train outside naija if they expect any better result next time..

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Dangote Group: Graduate Trainee Driver Job Vacancies by wowo2: 5:35pm On Aug 02, 2012
This does not appear to me to be an offer for skills training or development. If it were for school leavers or undergraduates it will be a different ball game. This sounds more like the company is willing to pay more than they would a school dropout even if he is world class truck driver.

http: Am not surprise with majority of the responders, Nigeria has made us all lazy, we never want to work, majority of the Graduate want white collar job; my advise is for the serious ones to take this kind of offer, slow and steady, u need money, take the job, I know where i started from and i know where i am today.

from a personal experience, after my service, i never stay home for two months, i got a job at DHL, where, dispatch, i did this for 3 months before i got my dream job in Telecom, and i know the experience at DHL helps me alot. I never stop there, i left naija and where i am today, i can tell you am half driver, half engineer. I work on site so i have to drive my work truck to site ( i mean Jeep) naija style.

When i was in Naija working in a telecom company, i have a driver that will take me to site, but here in the state, even the governor will have to drive himself, there is dignity in labour.... A responsible person starts from small and from there God takes you to your destination....

Heaven helps those who help themselve, that what the scripture says, you are your own map to success and failure, luck and God are just 2% of whatever you become in life.

From the Truck driving, you will have contacts as long as you are serious in improving your skills, and no skill is a waste, i drive myself to site and also do my job.... Lets stop this lazy backward attitude if we want to make it in life, a lot of these millionaires work like slave before they make it. Someone said Adenuga was a former Cab Driver in New York... A word is enough for the wise.

Crime / Re: Robbers Invade Skye Bank In Portharcourt, Two Robbers Shot Dead!(images) by wowo2: 4:56am On Jul 12, 2012
God help us.

A friend who witnessed the event as it unfolded said the dead man in White shirt had a wedding ring - on his fourth finger from the thumb on his left hand!

He also said it was a gun battle between the police and the robbers. There was a terrible go-slow and the police had created a path for their cars like they normally do. Nobody knew they were actually responding to an ongoing robbery incident. One of the police men was shot by the robbers and had to be rushed away.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Did You Get Your Present Job? by wowo2: 3:11am On Jul 11, 2012
At my place of work, they call it it attracting the best people...If I know you are good and won't mess up on the job I reco you if there is a job opening that you are interested in and I get paid 250,000 naira if you successfully scale probation after 3 months.
You still do tests and interviews though and only get the job if you pass the stages.

That is how I got my job too...it is a cycle...not a vicious one.

This probably occurs in many places but I only observed this in PH when I worked there -I had gone out of my way to ask questions about what was not really my business. On Saturdays, myself and a friend always met at this roadside restuarant (the one you draw back a lace curtain to enter) and I jokingly asked the Madam/owner why her girls/waitresses dont stay long as I always see new faces and if it was because they get pregnant on the job as i had observed. My friend kicked my knee. The madam just smiled and didnt say anything. My friend later told me they come from the village to stay with Aunty who hooks them up and sells the fruits. Am like shocked
