Solomon of the scripture acquired wealth through God's making. Christ Jesus required of us to live modestly. (1st Timothy 6: Difference between both of them is; 1. Solomon ended up saying all is vanity upon vanity. 2. Christ said its easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven. Think about it. |

Most Nigerian youth are too lazy to think. Now they are sentimental with the glaring facts. darkid1: Before I proceed to explain thing to you , with the hope that you put tribalism aside and put on your thinking and reasoning hat. I am not yoruba, not even close, probably more eastern than you.
Here are some dramas that Hubert did in his time Muritala Mohamed (1976) Oree Niwon (1976) Nigeria (1977) Igba t' ode (1977) Orisa N'la (1977)
And here are the films he did Aiye (1980) Jaiyesimi (1981) Aropin (1982) Ayanmo (1988)
Which earned him recognition from BBC Man of the Theatre - BBC (1983)
Here is a link to wikipedia if you wish to know more
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubert_Ogunde
As for the very ignorant fellow up there that said people could not go to cinemas to watch Hubert Ogunde's movies, I would let you know that cinemas in lagos , like pen cinemas back in day , as I was told by my grand parents were packed full of people eager to watch.
There is no helping you people, you would rather choose tribalism than the truth , even if its glaring...
Any other non meaningful quote , i wouldn't reply . Was nollywood existing as a brand name for Nigerian movies back then? Those were just under the Nigerian film industry not nollywood. Just because living in bondage wasn't a Yoruba movie you are quick to say it wasn't the forerunner of the nollywood movies we have today. Go to northern Nigeria and mention living in bondage then add any of those "strange" names you have up there and see which was really recognised as a nollywood movie. Stop trying to shift the hands of the clock. |

Nedsnow: So to you now, Nollywood means home video. . You be professional fool i swear. Ayelala is on your case.
Ode oshi! Read this below.
Definition of which films are considered Nollywood has always been a subject of debate. Alex Eyengho defined Nollywood as "the totality of activities taking place in the Nigerian film industry, be it in English, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Itsekiri, Edo, Efik, Ijaw, Urhobo or any other of the over 300 Nigerian languages". He further stated that "the historical trajectory of Nollywood started since the pre and post independent Nigeria, with the theatrical (stage) and cinematic (celluloid)) efforts of the likes of Chief Hubert Ogunde, Chief Amata, Baba Sala, Ade Love, Eddie Ugboma and a few others" Another copy and paste slowpoke! Now who is Alex Eyengho that we should accept his definition? |

I hate tribalism from Yoruba people I wonder how many Nigerians have vhs tapes, video CDs or DVD discs of those baba sala, Herbert ogunde dramas he claim were commercial movies and beginning of nollywood? Nollywood is not the same words as the pre-1990 Nigerian movie industry. They are close but not really the same. |

Businessideas: You see. That is the problem with you young ones, lack of humility. I just mentioned and listed films that are Nigerian films even with national popularity and you can easily and humbly read about them online. There are films like Block busters like Aiye by Hubert Ogunde Group,Taxi Driver by Ade Love the father of the popular Afolayan brothers, Duro Ladipo group that were the awada kerikeri group, Baba Sala with that film he was shown committing suicide in a train track and so many other films of Nigerian actors and theater you may be too young to know and can easily read on. Nollywood never started with living in bondage and it is pure ignorance to say that publicly. The English-Igbo genre of Nigerian films came to the table very very very late and that's why it lacked depth like the preexisting genre of Nigerian films led by the Hubert Ogunde et al. I just corrected and educated you with love When was the word nollywood coined? Those ancient movies you mentioned weren't nollywood movies. Those were just Nigerian movies and not nollywood. Go check the history of nollywood and find out why and when it came into existence. Stop mentioning fadeyi oloro and co. Even today's Yoruba movies aren't really called nollywood. Argue that! |

Hairyrapunzel: Children and newborn make the choice to refuse blood transfusion right? Members are cautioned by disfellowshipping them or treating them as bad association. The decision my dear is not in their hands. Blood transfusion doesn't contravene any of God's laws or are you talking of the law made by Nathan knorr in 1945? Except Nathan knorr is now God in your eyes.
A God that you say is love, creator, is good will say life is sacred and blood is a symbol of life then will take a symbol over what it actually represents. I think your jehovah loves murder.
Life is sacred yet a medical procedure used to save life itself isn't allowed why? Because an illiterate psychopath said accepting blood transfusion goes contrary to God's laws. You people worship Human beings Defend this argument with the use of the scriptures let me see. I'll start by saying abstain from blood is clear in its entirety. I believe to abstain from blood isn't just about not eating blood but also covers for medical purposes. |

Now, when you call upon God to fight against them (enemies) that fight against you,
and I say, God let those that that wish me evil receive their evil.
Two of us are calling on God to pay our perceived enemies in their own coin.
My dear all na back to sender prayers. Definitely not the same. Your back to sender pray is like a wishful prayer: I.e asking the same fate fall upon ur adversaries. Asking God to fight ur battle is leaving vengeance to God. Back to sender is simply used as an incantation in the "African church". |

Peacefullove: I read the Op, but to be serious the writer is an Ex member . So am not suprised at the Twisted article.
I can't stop laughing when he based his entire topic on the fact that these people don't belive in hell , so Suicide is allowed , really ?
From my research, They see Suicide as the same as murder, yet their bible correctly said any murderer will not inherit Gods kingdom. what else ? a foolish jw must have killed himself then , Dont forget killing yourself will mean no paradise.
But mr writer present it as if suicide is a normal thing with no sanctions. infact according to him Suicide to a witness means gateway to Paradise , How could that be if they also belive suicide is murder and murderer's won't inherit God's kingdom ?
He also say this and I quote
" To a Withness having droughts about his faith, suicide makes perfect sense. He may reason: “If this organization is a scam I would rather be dead then live because I have already invested years of my life; if it is the true religion I will be raised from the dead and live in a perfect world”. Suicide for the long time member has a large upside but no down side."
Can a person who has doubts or droughts about his faith be properly Recognized with the witnesses ? Doesn't such one see the religion as a scam already, so are they still one of them ?
this is why I said Ex members of this group tend to be biased in their writings . Thank you for your explanation. You need one bottle of "beer" (alcoholic? They'll soon start crying about my choice). |

it says in 1 Pet 3 vs 18
being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
what does it mean to be made alive in the bible ? Resurrected! So he didn't operate a ghost mode, he died and didn't do anything until he was made alive 3 days after
that is a lie, that peter said the spirits in prison are those disobedient in the days of Noah NOT every evil people.
Does it mean all evil people don't go to the same place as taught in Christianity ?
clearly some are isolated from another .
You also said Angels are spirit being, could this be reffering to Angels of Noah's day in the bible ?
Solve this. because if those spirits are humans according to you it means not all evil people go to the same place . a blow to church teaching
pastor so dead = Carcass , then when your Bible said the dead stand at the throne of God , it means ordinary carcass stand at the throne of God ? Peaceful love finish him and them pls! |

Non acceptance of Blood transfusion is not forced upon members, rather each member is taught not to accept because it contravenes God's law on the issue.
The decision is left for each member to decide based on his/her level of faith.
Members who succumb to accepting it as treatment are only cautioned and asked to build their faith on God. You are expected to live by what u teach. |
