The story is not long, but interesting. One of the best part of English exam i liked when in Secondary school is summary so i will summarize shortly.

Thanks

Thanks to every comment on Long or short story, it shouldn't cause fight or bitterness, abeg we all will achieve our goals. It’s a matter of time and patience.

In the short script I posted earlier I said I will we back for summary. I guess my statement wasn’t understood.

We decided to relocate 2014, and applied for the FSW paper based then, my spouse (just like dem put am for the application) was the primary applicant. We couldn’t get in because by the time the application got to its destination, the cap was already filled up. So fast forward to 2017. My spouse again encouraged me that we should apply but mennnn I just said ok although not totally keen. In February 2017 she did IELTS, and got R8, W8, S7.5 & L7, well me Not really into that as at then because career is going great. But when I saw that with the little comfort you have in this country, many things will not allow person to even enjoy am small, I began considering relocation and did IELTS in February 2018. No serious reading or prep but got S8.5, R7.5, L6 & W6. My spouse was principal applicant so WES that was done since 2014 was still valid but preliminary CRS score was 405(not in the pool yet). I put in for my WES in April 2018 and as my spouse also had siblings in Canada, that made the CRS mark to go up, but still hovers around 420
In June, we realized that we can use her post graduate as well to improve the score, we quickly applied for WES in May 2018 for that and surprisingly it came out exactly 6 weeks later while mine was still being awaited. We sha enter the pool in July 2018 while waiting for mine and score was I 436. On 25th August 2018, mine came back too and we quickly updated it and our score came to 446.

ITA
The very next draw which was some days after specifically on the 5th September 2018 we got ITA because the cut off was CRS440. The journey began in earnest.

POF
Well this one wasn’t any issue at all. We used mutual funds in my spouse name as per principal applicant since March 2018, then had another fund in FD and others as cash in the account. It was more than what they requested. For the POF letter, I had contacts in house in the bank we used, and they wrote the POF letter exactly the way we have been advised, so also the mutual funds too in the exact format I saw online used by someone in the past.

Medicals
We went for medicals immediately the ITA came out and schedule one in Abuja, and by 25th September 2018 it came out.

AOR
This one stress me because my spouse wanted us to tell them everything in the LOE but me I feel we should just give basic info if they need more they will ask. We ended up giving all the required documents and explanation including pay slip from each year for spouse work experience(12 years), promotion letters, the supervisor wrote the work experience or should I say we drafted it and the supervisor signed it , wetin else oooo, anything that may raise questions, ehh ehn bulk payments was explained and even printed the place it came from just to prove that it wasn’t targeted towards boosting of POF but just normal transaction we do monthly as a family. So sha we submitted this on 15th October 2018, and was acknowledged same day.

Biometrics
This was done on the 13th November 2018, and was ok
WAITING BEGAN
The waiting began, at this point my spouse had to resign from her work due to the pressure its putting on health and me too changed job. We considered informing them but in the long run we didn’t as the earlier ones hasn’t been responded to. We ordered for GCMS in January 2019, called the CIC customer care, and got the news that our application has been moved to Accra since November 2018. Well we didn’t know much about the AVO until we started seeing people’s compliant about how slow they were, but like person get choice

ADR
The famous 5 request from AVO came on the 9th of March 2019, we responded to them on the 16th March 2019. We sent in 10 years payslip (like I said my spouse is a very detail person and like following to the letter infact if not because we couldn’t reduce the size further we could have sent in the whole 12 years), 6 years statement of account highlighting the salaries with a marker, for each of the request, we attached a LOE. We attached the fixed deposits that has expired and the current one and got our bank to write the same letter again to them in respect to POF.

PPR
When we hit six months, frustration almost set in but we decided to live our life especially with the funny timeline you see with AVO.
Then an update came in on 18th April 2019 that background has started and one cool morning around 10am while having breakfast on a post easter break, the golden mail came on 24th April 2019.

I want to thank everyone once again, I will like to mention @ joo2018, @ msmodi, @ exquisef, @ Josefuadjr, @ Ramj, @ daks02, @ Newmum0615, @ Pegzzyg, @Ifeoma77, @ deTimo, @ flyboi1 thanks guys.
Total time from AOR to PPR was 6 months plus 2 weeks
Lesson learnt:
1.Power of unity (spouse agreeing and doing same on time, its time and chance o)
2.Ask for help and follow your gut. If you doubt your gut follow popular advice o, there is safety in multitude of counsel
3.Lastly, this thing will test your patience, if you think you don’t get frustrated easily, then this will prove it especially if your application is being handled by AVO. In all, trust God for his guidance and help, also do PM to able people some times if your question may sound ridiculous.

This write up was inspired by my spouse, I still like bullet point sha.

Best of luck to everyone, your PPR is a mail away, believe it and you shall have it.

Thank you all.

Dear House,
Congratulations to the PPR in the house, and for we the rest ours too will come

Thanks for all the responses to my questions. One more though. Please if you have submitted ADR before i need your guidiance here. If the ADRs are that you upload Schedule A and Additional Family Info for both PA and Spouse, POF and you want to do LOE due to some things you feel like explaining, is it the link provided in the letter that is advisable to follow(NB this one is just 3.5MB o) or go to the profile page and upload since that contains different field to be uploaded into. This is an emergency o, i just want to give them what they are asking shapaly.

Thanks

1. Let it overlap as long as it is not Canadian education.

2. You include it whether ECA was done or not.

Thanks for the clarification.

Hi everyone thanks for the good counsel, again I have few questions, I’m filling Schedule A and there is this place for education and work history please my question is:
1. In filling schedule A form, how do one fill personal history of one schooling even though one is on full time job? Note my job is a shift job meaning I have off days which I use for schooling while working. The reason I’m asking is that can I break it saying from so month to so month o was schooling but again I was working during those time so it kind of overlap on each other.
2. In education section, do we add masters to our university/college even if we were not claiming points for it and now ECA was done on it?

There are more questions o, but let’s start with this.

I will like your feedback in prefer for me to submit and then wait for the good news.

Thanks

Ramj:

1. A year payslip would be enough and I hope you informed CIC when she resigned from her job last November

2. the Request is simple - they request that the statement to show salary deposit - One year would be okay at least you can request a customized statement to show only deposits from her office for the past one year ( to make it less bulky). If not possible get her statement and highlight the salary deposits

3. Very easy contact you bank

4. Fill the form
5. Fill the form

Je m'appelle ADR

Thanks for the response. The wahala there is that we haven’t notified them of the resignation even though there is a cogent reason for it. We intend to explain it in the explanation letter we will be attaching and for the statement that won’t be any issue but I want to know if it should stop at this March. Meaning doing from April 2018 to March 2019. because all through 2017 to March 2018 she as on study leave without pay.
Your advises have been very helpful and my tension is reducing gradually. You can see I never fit sleep becos of how to solve this issue.
Thanks again.

Congratulations on your soon coming PPR.
1. The payslips for the entire period mentioned on her profile is required.

2. She should include all bank statements for all the salaries she got for the entire period mentioned on the profile. The side hustle you didn't mention might not be a problem if your wife earns well, if she doesn't, it might raise brows. Can it come from the other jobs you mentioned?

3. Yes, submit the investment certificate.

Thanks for the congratulatory message it is really a good one and i believe the PPR is indeed close.
I need to still clear this. The work experience is for 12 years, are you advising that we should get all 12 years pay slip, and print bank statement for those number of years too?

Thanks

Dear House and any one that can help, i need help o.

Our timeline is thus: ITA in September 2018, AOR in October 2018, biometrics update in November 2018, since that time no update. GCMS in February 2019 showed that our file is now with Accra. So today we checked and saw additional document request. I will like to post it here if any one can help me o. My wife is the principal applicant, and she has resigned from her job(Dec 2018) due to some level of stress that is affecting her health badly. Putting this in mind how do you advise i respond to this questions, your response may move us forward in this quest o:

1. Client Information: Provide pay slips from employer for the period of assessment This must be received at this office by: 2019/04/08
*** My question(What do they mean? for past 6 months or all the years she worked? or last one year before she resigned?)what does the period of assessment means?
2. Client Information: Provide Bank statements showing salary deposits from employer (please highlight salary deposits) This must be received at this office by: 2019/04/08.*** My question(How many month banks statement, must it include to this present month? and also the initial funds we fixed was a lump some from one of my personal company and i didnt include that side hustle in any of my personal details how do i handle this one?)

3. Client Information: Provide updated proof of settlement funds This must be received at this office by: 2019/04/08
*** We used Fixed deposit and mutual funds, the money is still there so i can get this from the bank,
4. Schedule A: Submit a separate and newly completed Schedule A Background Declaration form (IMM 5669) bearing an original signature updated schedule A (make sure there are no gaps in time) for you and your spouse This must be received at this office by: 2019/04/08
***
5. Additional Family Information: Submit a completed Additional Family Information form (IMM5645) updated Additional Family Information for you and your spouse This must be received at this office by: 2019/04/08
***

Please you will be helping a guy that is confused with valuable response o

Now i want to ask, when will this be updated on my profile? Do i need to do something like upload something? because till now its still says "We need your fingerprints to process your application. Hi my people.

I trust God that we all we share inspiring testimonies as been shared by those who have gotten their PR.

I have 2 questions:
1. I am working with one of the government parastatals specifically one of the teaching hospitals, in the section for work history, can i say this is normal employment or list it under government appointment. I'm kind of not clear which i should call it. And if i call it government please what are the implications and what document should i prepare?
2. As i'm about to submit my ITA application, is it compulsory to submit the schedule A form now or i can do that later.

I will appreciate response from anyone that has had this kind issue in the past and how to proceed.
Thanks.

Hello house, while filling my ITA form update to submit i saw this question under travel history. the question is
"Provide details of any trips ------- has taken outside his/her country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since his/her 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago). Include all trips: tourism, business, training, etc.
Has ------------, and if applicable, --------------- family members taken any trips outside their country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since their 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago). Include all trips: tourism, business, training, etc. (required)"

I answered NO, though my spouse has traveled for training before (Which was already stated in the part of my spouse personal history), and also my parents and siblings have traveled in and out of Nigeria, and it has appeared some where in the application. My question now is that should i state all this their travel waka or i should explain in LOE that though me have not traveled o, but my siblings have and some of them are residing out of the country.

Any answer will help. I just tire and i wan submit this thing and then move on abeg.
Thanks.

If you have your funds in Tbills or FD, your average can be way lesser. It won't matter. At least, mine didn't.

So I should just take the letter, and hope this will not affect the funds required for settlement in Canada? If u advise this then I should be ok, except if anyone has a contrary and superior evidenced based argument.

Thanks thanks

Yes that's perfect.

Thanks @Ifeoma77.
I got to the bank to collect the letter but I’m not ok again o. For analogy sake and not exact funds, The average 6months is like 1m TD is like 3m, current balance is like 1.2m so I asked my account officer that sonsce the funds I need for the PoF is N4.1m can’t he just say average is that 4.1m since the TD is there?
My question now is that should I still use that letter that showed average of 1.2m and the TD of 3m, or i should just use my TD and I have a mutual funds too that makes it over what we need as proof of funds.
Thanks for the advice in advance. I really need to sort this out it’s the last stage. The annoying thing is that when person no get the funds na another problem na Wey person get am, explanation come plenty again?

You may do that.
My 2cents: No matter your decision, add the side gig to your personal history, you cannot guarantee that you will not get an ADR for further financial documentation.

Ok thanks

Ifeoma77:

SOA was never a requirement by IRCC. All they asked for is a bank letter. SOA became 'necessary' because our banks refused to comply with the required format.
Asides from the POF, has that account been receiving significant sums of money? If yes, prevail on your account officer to issue you a bank letter in the IRCC format. That would be the best option.
Secondly, you can buy Tbills and combine it with a generic bank letter of introduction and non-indebtedness.
Or you can use the FD Certificate with the same as above.
Another option is decline the ITA and wait till the money has been in your account for six months and then submit SOA (not recommended).
A final option is to gather the documentation to prove that the money is yours and explain how the side hustle comes into play.
Thanks so so much. My bank agreed to write the letter in the format IRCC prescribed. So it will state the average six months non in any debt(non indebtedness) and my investment too. While all this was going on the investment expired on Friday but rolled over today. I intend to include the two investment certificates to show that it was rolled over. And the letter is carrying the date after rolled over has taken place, I’m I safe to just submit the letter from my bank and the two investment certificate?
Thanks I really appreciate all this help and it’s making me less confused and panicky

The bulk sum can be easily explained. As long as the money is legit and from your personal business as stated. if you are the sole signatory to the business account, it makes it easier. you will need to get a reference letter from your bank stating that you are the sole signatory to the business account.
you will also need to submit your business documents (registration and all) proving its yours with your LOE.

Thanks.

I and my spouse are signatory. And can i say it is part of our funds that we moved to my personal account in other to put all the funds in our place?

Ifeoma77:

If it's fixed, what of the FD Certificate? I've read that some people use that alone, just as some use TBills certificate alone.
You can use the FD Certificate with a generic bank letter.
If in the course of processing your application, they decide to ask for ADR, you can then give them six months account statement - which should be 'safe' by that time.

Thanks.

Are you saying i shouldn't do SOA? Even though my salary is going into the account/ My bank agreed to list my balance and my investment with them. Will that suffice without SOA?

joo2018:
Are you putting the part-time private company job as part of 10yrs experience in your personal history? If so good.

The bank reference letter is supposed to account for 6 months, so the lump sum will show. You may submit submit the 6 month SOA showing the transfer, add a LOE explaining the transaction and attach the company's registration documents to strengthen your application.

My 2cents.

I am not stating it as part of my work experience. But can i say my spouse runs the company, even though we did not say anything about it in hs application?

Hi,I'm new to this group but i have read great post from everyone that has contributed, thanks so much for the Info. However, my question is in terms of proof of funds. I have a private company where i do small small works outside my paid job, and while planning for this PR, i moved a bulk sum from my company account to the account i want to submit for proof of funds(My personal and salary account). The problem now is that i have been given ITA since 5th September but this funds thing is really bordering me. The funds was moved and then fixed in my personal account in first week of July, and i need to submit my application latest by end of this month. I'm confused, should I just get letter from my bank on my account balance and investment and print 3 months statement, or i should still print 6 months which will show this bulk sum? What do you advise. Thanks.
