If you look back at old air interdiction videos by NAF against JAS, there is almost always a part where you see terrorists firing at the military airplanes. They only got lucky this time around.

It is time Nigerian Air Force start using combat drones in the theatre. The terrorists are now aware they can bring down a fighter jet through proper planning. This might get worse.

I seriously doubt they do, look at the distance the aircraft was hauling down from, it's obvious the pilots were not flying low, so there's no way JAS(they are the fraction that released the photos) would have been able to clip the bird with AA fire.
It was AA fire. This is not their first time of trying too.

Even if they carry side arms it won't make much difference if they eject safely in a hot zone infested with ISWAP elements, the only thing on the Pilots mind will be to evade the enemies till help comes, you don't wanna be in a situation were you use Pistols to face technicals/AKs wielding vampires.
That aside it will be a miracle of the Pilot is still alive because he would have radioed in his cordinates for exfiltration. I suspect the pilot had a loss of orientation and lost control or had technical issues with his bird.
May God help our pilots the weather these days isn't favourable for flying missions.
The side arm is not to fight against terrorists with AA guns. That is worse than bringing a knife to a gun fight. The point is if they are still alive and are about to be captured by the enemy, they need to do the needful.

NE during air interdiction..
As at 5 yesterday.

Helicopters where immediately scrambled along with ground troops
I pray they are found
I hope they are found by own troops. I hope they are carrying side arms too. The kind of hatred terrorists have for fighter pilots is the worst in this world. DAESH burn fighter pilots alive in cages it is terrible.

With there vehicles been camouflaged with mud, it will blend with the desert terrain. Making it difficult for the air force to spot them.
But not from ISR assets.
It is useless in combat situations anyway. The ISR is beyond thermal imaging alone. It uses series of algorithm to detect the tiniest movement. Except they are all going to standstill when the Skyhawk is pursuing their arses.

Are they using mud has Camouflage from airforce shocked
They started doing it around February. This is the second set of images I'll see with mud as camouflage from our ISR. This is why I support NAF not releasing footages of airstrikes. The enemies are watching it too.

There was a tank explosion at factory tank farm in Kogi state on Monday. Jackson only went up for a routine check and dipping but was caught up in the explosion. The tank was a million liter tanks having about 150,000 liters ethanol before the explosion. Causes of the explosion still remain unknown.

Quite painful that you are gone Jackon AKA Ability. May your gentle soul rest in peace.
I'm sure your "friend" and his family would appreciate you posting this gory image in the internet, smh. Use your head!

Lalasticlala, Seun. Did the victim's family give this person permission to post the picture of their loved one on Nairaland?

Just one good reason.

Another Set Back For Boko Haram As Nigerian Military Intensifies Day And Night Patrol. No going back,,,,

Watch video: https://www.facebook.com/180168166239931/posts/800428564213885/
I gathered from the video that Boko Haram used seized Nigerian Army vehicle to attack our soldiers. The first time they got away with it because the soldiers were confused and thought the vehicle was occupied by their colleagues. The second time, the terrorists met their Waterloo because once bitten twice shy. grin grin grin

Good to see so many terrorists killed. Enemies of our nation will not know any peace.

So the report that NAF is getting 2 squadron of M-346 is actually fake news. I'm not surprised though. It makes absolutely no sense that NAF would continue diversifying at such rate. It can only result in logistic and maintenance nightmare. It serves no strategic purpose too.

"The militants, largely drawn from the Fulani herding community, have targeted civilians in retaliation for killings of Fulanis by self-defence militias formed by the farmers."

This is an ethnic cleansing agenda. It is what they have been doing in Nigeria too.

Shooting terrorists that survived the nuclear missile (or is it bomb) and were fleeing to Kaduna and Katsina from lake Chad......
Then you'll have your complete movie script.
Common sense tells us that no reasonable military will put their soldiers near a place where nuclear weapon has just been dropped. Does this dude even understand the impact of nuclear weapon, nuclear fallout and radiation?

Anywhere a nuclear bomb is dropped cannot be inhabited by humans for years. Again, wind will carry nuclear fallouts and radiation beyond where it was dropped. Just recently, wind blowing into France had high level of radiation, a consequence of their secret nuclear tests thousands of miles away from France.

And they want me to take Josco seriously.

See, free this man. He has said what he heard and what he believes, it is not compulsory you believe neither is it a must to comment. Please learn to move on with things you don't agree with rather than calling people unprintable names. Not only in this regard sef. How can you call yourself civilized people when you can't participate in responsible discussions?
This was the same person that claimed Nigeria is getting F-35. Now he is saying Nigeria used nuclear weapon to bombard bandits and that Raad II are now integrated on Alpha jets. And you expect us not too call him out for lying?

Telling lies is not the same as having different opinions. He should verify his stories before posting them here. This was exactly how SSBN started too.

The weekend was largely quiet. So either ISWAP is planning something big for week or they have exhausted their momentum.
Come to think of it, where do they get petrol to fuel the gun trucks and armored vehicles. There should be a way to cut off the availability of fuel to the terrorists. Maybe cause artificial scarcity in the general area of the conflict and adjacent locations. Fuel should be a contraband in some places.
They did carry out attacks against CJTF and seized trucks as well as dane guns.
