President Goodluck Jonathan has warned General Muhammadu Buhari to conduct his presidential campaign with regard for the truth. The President in a statement, Thursday, signed by Reuben Abati, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity) rejected the claims by Buhari during his declaration on the economy and Jonathan’s government. Read thus “We have noted with disappointment and regret, the reckless, baseless and unsupportable charges made against the Jonathan’s Administration yesterday by a supposed elder Statesman, General Muhammadu Buhari. Jonathan and Buhari We wholly reject the allegations made by General Buhari against the Jonathan’s administration at yesterday’s declaration of his intention to contest the 2015 presidential elections as an irresponsible denigration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s sincere efforts, over the past four years, to positively transform Nigeria. It reflects very badly on the character of the political opposition we now have in Nigeria, that a political leader of General Buhari’s stature will deliberately make such false and uncharitable comments about the elected leadership of his country, merely for personal and sectional political gain. The falsity of General Buhari’s anti-Jonathan and anti-PDP claims will be obvious to knowledgeable Nigerians and friends of the country, but for the benefit of others we will like to affirm that there is absolutely no truth whatsoever in his charge that “the last 16 years of PDP Government has witnessed a decline in all critical sectors of life in Nigeria” or that “the economy continues to deteriorate”. Statistics and rankings from the National Bureau of Statistics, the Central Bank of Nigeria, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and other international economic agencies give the lie to General Buhari’s claims on the state of the Nigerian economy. As is well known, available figures, statistics and ratings show that the Nigerian economy has consistently maintained an unprecedented growth rate of 6-7% under the Jonathan administration. They also show that the Nigerian economy is now the leading economy in Africa and the 26th largest in the world with a gross domestic product of over $500 billion per annum. Also contrary to General Buhari’s assertion yesterday, Nigeria’s agricultural sector is thriving under the reforms being implemented by the Jonathan administration as current production figures show and neither manufacturing nor commerce is “down” as the APC presidential aspirant alleged. His most uncharitable and inexcusable accusation against the present administration was that election rigging continues to thrive in Nigeria. We trust that all patriotic, objective and non-partisan Nigerians will reject that allegation knowing it to be invalid and they will have the evidence of the progressively freer, fairer and ever more credible elections conducted under the Jonathan administration to support their position. Despite the other false accusations General Buhari made against the President who he clearly fears to take on in an honest, issues-driven presidential election contest, President Jonathan will continue to carry forward his transformation agenda in the power sector and other areas. The President will not be discouraged or deterred from his objective of repositioning Nigeria for accelerated and inclusive socio-economic development by the partisan and jaundiced views of power seekers like General Buhari who cannot see the obvious results of the current administration’s efforts through their blinkered eyes. We also draw the attention of Nigerians to the total lack of originality in the hackneyed manifesto offered to Nigerians yesterday by the APC Presidential aspirant. All that General Buhari promises to do are already being done by the Jonathan Administration to the acclaim of ordinary Nigerians and there is no evidence before Nigerians that the APC leader and his acolytes can do them better. The retired General is free to renege on his well-publicized pledge not to seek elective office as he has done, but we urge him to conduct his presidential campaign with greater regard for the truth.[/quote |
ammanison1:Propagandist are pathetic low lives! What in these pictures prove the guy in the picture is civilian JTF or NIgerian army official? Little wonder opposition apologist love NL where gullible's are at their peak ![]() |
Misleading post! Where does it say through the pic that's "newly acquired military equipments"? The tank in the pic doesn't even look like an APC used by the army to combat boko boys, not to mentioned it being acquired by FG. Pretty sure if I go through your post and threads on NL, your a confirmed APC apologist doing what you and your likes do best, Spreading falsehood, lies and deciet! I weep for the uneducated folks on NL that take you guys seriously. ![]() |

Climate change in my opinion is real but overhyped (not that bad as it's made to seem via media). When the normal yearly weather pattern is inconsistent with the years before or after a particular year then the climate has changed. I do however, have a problem with the way scientists say 'we have used up the earth's water resources in a year, meant to last 10 years' or 'we have drained in 2 years the vital minerals needed to sustain the earth from collapsing in year 2067' etc! Story! I believe for a fact that the population of the world is too much for a few to control, hence the need for population control via scientific and man made measures as climate change, disease, wars, poverty, famine, hunger etc. In a nut shell, some selfish individuals and top organizations are ripping and phyphoning 'naturist' and earth lovers huge sums through believing the world is coming to an end via global warming. |
OLADD: Couldn't have put it better Sir! Going through the pages of the thread and seeing an objective assessment from diverse platforms commending the president is new to me. Knowing the opposition figures and their "pull down the goverment of the day' attitude, one would think they would outrighly play the "hate" card in this timely and lovely gesture. It's refreshing to know that despite our difference we as a people can still come together to uphold what is right and just. Kudos! To the Nigerian people that support their government despite all odds to descredit the Nigerian state. ![]() |
GEJ the leader that has his citizens at heart! When GEJ said those that insulted him yesterday would rejoice and praise him today, many thought he was 'clueless' as opposition would say. Today this thread stands as a testimony to that. Well done Sir! ![]() |
ba7man: The engine, ride and handling are what appeal the most to car enthusiasts.Just said my mind bruv! ![]() |
ba7man: RIDE: BMWI think you pretty much covered every bit though. Am all about the ride, handling and engine. Not rilly fizzled on the looks or design but all about performance and speed, which the BMW does perfectly for me. Moreover, I think the "younger" guys go for the BM while the "older" rock the Benz. My opinion ![]() |
Rockvicie: Ohhh. I see you're a bm fan from your profile. Its good t know who you follow tho...4 me its Merc all d way.Lol! Busted! @ see you're a bm fan from profile yh! Some of us are fanatics like that ![]() |

If they be further unresolvable conflict in the African continent that could lead to a break up of a country or more, these troops would be quick to secure Washington vast interests in the African region. No surprise the U.S is sending in troops (Africom) knowing the wanton destruction by wars and proxy wars that looms around Africa. A new form of colonization via force using "terrorism" to make loop holes in sovereign nations they invade round the globe. Gradually the 'masters' of the world are achieving their aims and objectives to reclaim Africa from the rising 'super' powers (China & Russia) that are threatning years of American and imperialist oppression and ownership of Africa. |
Some good points are raised here, which "we" have been trying to educate people about. However, many are still ignorant of these facts. |
Really lovely and clean ride @xerotop. If u had not mentioned it was flooded, we probably would never had known. However u didn't put up a pic of the engine. ![]() |

drsolob: I think dat is what took place in the case of libya and boko haram.Exactly my thoughts with the example you laid down there. Do note that it is not just Nigeria and Africa alone that would feel the effects. Other countries who have rebels would also partake in the use of the suplied arms to terrorize their various goverments. The arms released in syria are still in circulation today and more is on the way. |
Chanchit: @xcolango, I no like this kyn maths wei U dey do o, wetin consign Nigeria with this war now.? Abeg this ur maths must not work.@ chanchit I haven't actually said Nigeria would be fighting against syria or for syria. What I had laid down is the effects and after effects of a war spring up in syria. There is a high possiblity that after the war stock piles of arms would be available for Nigeria to effect a slipt up as predicited by the C.I.A into a predominantly muslim north and a southern Christain side based on religious grounds. |
The USA bombing syira without the support of the U.K and any other country would be a dire cirsumstance. If the syrians actually carry out their threat which is highly possible (to bomb the stated countries in the article) then this even would lead to a massive chaos within the middle east which would then spread into the african continent through large supplies of arms of both U.S and russia siding either sides of the war. This has always been their practise(Western nations) in most wars round the world. A case study can be drawn on that of libya which is still very fresh in our memorise (those into politics and foreign affairs) how the outflow of arms into other african countries supplied by the U.S. France et al and all the NATO sign up countires, empowered various rebelious and militias groups that sprang up in mali, congo and Nigeria just to mention a few. The U.S just has to be Wise and not go into this alone or better still use more effective diplomatic channels to end the conflict. But their economic, political and strategic intrest would let them humble themseleves. All this had bee planned lo ng ago. Because their involvement it might just be the begining of their down fall. Peace! |
@ seun you goofed on this one. Your offering a service and the majority of the recipents say they are comfortable with MMW or at leaste have indicated form their actions and post, why would you now be stiff necked and allow your emotions to becloud your judgement. From the thread its clear that you made a hasty decision without clarifying what the so called "threat" meant from MMW before making your decision. Like another poster stated "you where just waiting for a flimsy excuse to strike". You are human and your prone to mistakes, don't think because you have declared a thing you can't go back clearly when you acted too fast. Take away any pride you ent "God". |
What a slap to the face of the ministry of women affairs, trying so hard to eradicate female child sex abuse, child trafficking, opression and domination of female minors, underage marriage to young girls etc and yerima just comes along and throws must of their efforts to the dust. Those saying its a religious affairs what about chirstains that their believe is againts such practises? And this is one Nigeria! Great! |
Illums! ![]() |
The Hypocricy of the west and their allies! Millions of Egytians took to the streets to protest the "brotherhood" style rulership of Morsi as against the minor support received from his clan members ( the brotherhood).Thought in "U.S style democracy" majority carries the vote? If a higher populace mixed of all religious, traditional and ethnic background all come together to say they don't want their present goverment due to the rulership style favouring one fraction of the populace, what's undemocratic about that? Afterall this was the same method employed during the arab spring in which the west claimed To have supported the majority in having their say on who leads them. Now what wrong has the egytpian people done this time any different from before? The west just has an itchy mouth in favouring who would serve their intrest most, rather than who servers the intrest of the egytpian people. They the west should stop interfering with the politics and lives of soverign nations and face their internal problems as they clearly have much to speak on. |
Mark you have my vote on this one. The Almajiri system is counter productive and brings no gain to the economy whatsoever rather it becomes a burden on states that engage in this system, the populace and the Nigerian goverment at large. This almajiri's end up being potential "terrorists", miscreants and all other social vices which are negative to human development and the eradication of illiteracy, massive poverty and child traficking that the Nigerian goverment stands against. Having served in the North, I have a first hand experience on their modus operandir. The recent on-going projects on building almajiri schools in the north should be changed to proper schools where "western education" should be taught so these kids could be useful to society at large. Unfortunately "western education" is all they stand against causing the bombings been exerienced mostly in the core north. |
@Op what's the update on the advice you have received? ![]() |
Israel has been terrorisng soverign nations for decades, testing and launching their new "killer technologies" on innocent and harmless civilians under the watch of the US, its allies and offcourse the United Nations. The World (goverments and organisations) continues to turn a blind eye to their disastrous activities while focusing on "lesser evils" of nations using their media tools to cause division amongst the popullace. |
I wonder why buhari and his followers have not in any way condemend the actions and activities of this deadly sect ![]() |
The french are just having a piece of the action like her western counterparts US, Britain et al as seen from the cases of libya and now syria just to mention a few. Exposing the mayhem and catastrophe being masterminded and carried out on the African continent code name Africom. Funny how "terrorism" has shifted from the middle east down to Africa all in the name of re-colonising African resources and gaining a competitive advantage over emerging markets as china and co (BRICS) etc whom are investing heavily in the region. Through violent and man-made conflicts their agendas are put in place with the troubled terrorized regions begging for forgein assistance while they grab the opportunities to set up bases and stations to safe guard their interest. Only time would tell the next nation to fall into their selfish agendas. |
