There is trouble at the sabon gari area of Kano state. This is as a result of Hisbah invading the area and destroying alcoholic beverages shops . A pregnant woman who happen to be the wife of one of the shops invaded was whisked away. This got the youth angry. And they started protesting and destroying any keke that belong to an hausa person.
Hisbah squad and 4 police van have been chase away from that area by the youth

Violence breaks out in Sabon Gari, Kano

Violence on Tuesday evening erupted in Sabon Gari area of Kano metropolis as irate youth went on rampage.

Sabon Gari, inhabited largely by non-indegenes, is the epicenter of ethnic and religious violence in the state.

Security sources told DAILY NIGERIAN that the crisis began when officials of Hisbah went to make arrest at a red light district of Ballat Hughes Road.

“At the moment, I can’t tell you specifically what transpired between the Hisbah officials and the youth. All I can say is that the Hisbah operation went awry, and youth started attacking and burning places,” said a security agent.

Witnesses said there was stampede around Sabon Gari area as bonfires were set by hoodlums.

Other sources said some people were killed and many others injured in the clash.

Spokesman for Kano Police Command, Abdullahi Kiyawa, did not respond to our telephone call.

The traditional leader who spoke with SaharaReporters on Friday explained that the market was established to compensate the women in Shasha.

He said, "Over 60 years ago, the Federal Government was trying to get a specific space of land with certain qualities for IITA. This is where they were able to get it in Nigeria. So, they approached us to leave the place but we said no because they had driven us away from Eleyele, which made us relocate to the University of Ibadan.

"They also asked us to leave the University of Ibadan and we moved to this place, and now they are telling us to leave this place again, we won't. But those white men now offered to live with us. They asked us to count the number of villages on our land and we counted them; they were 33.

"They paid town planners and we were given this place with an agreement that they would not come to our place to disturb us. So we asked them how our wives were going to cope because, at that time, they used to go to the markets at Oja-Oba, Sango, and Mokola, which were far from here, so the white men said they would build a market for us.

"They brought the plans for our houses and the market. Not only the market, they built these houses for us. They built the market a year before we moved to this place. There was a woman, the first councillor in Moniya, called Mrs Bolarinwa; she contributed her salaries for one year to connect electricity supply to the market.

"After that, there was a crisis involving pepper sellers in Oja-Oba area of Ibadan. They were chased away from Oja-Oba because of crisis, and the current Seriki Shasha approached Mrs Bolarinwa to get him a market for his people. So the woman promised to take him to a market in her care which was Shasha market.

"That was when she brought Seriki to the market and he made some sacrifices. They killed two rams in the market that day. I wasn't the Baale at that time but I was part of the committee. We were watching the elders at that time while they were making the sacrifices. To attract more people to the market, Mrs. Bolarinwa used to subsidise the prices of milk for people. She really tried to make sure the market did well. And our elders allowed Hausa people to begin bringing onions to the market from the North. Whenever we ask for them to pay royalty, Hausa people will say we want to chase them out of the market.

"They kept telling lies that they would pay us. We took the issue to the police command and the commissioner at that time vindicated us but till today, we are still on it. He said they should be giving us 10 baskets of onions and we used to pay them the following day after we must have sold them. But when it was not doing well, we reduced the number to two baskets to ensure we had some money to run the market. So, that is the story. It was Ford Foundation and Rockefeller that built 250 shops for us, through IITA."

The presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19 says the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps may be reopened in the next phase of the eased lockdown.

This was disclosed by Sani Aliyu, national coordinator of the PTF, during a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday.

On March 18, the management of NYSC had temporarily suspended the orientation course for 2020 Batch A Stream One in order to curtail the spread of coronavirus among corps members.

Similarly, on March 20, NYSC had postponed biometric clearance and community development service (CDS) for all its corps members.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, in June, had also advised that activities at the orientation camps be suspended for at least 24 months.

Speaking on the consideration for reopening, Aliyu said the NYSC has been advised to begin preparations for possible resumption at camps across the country.

“We have advised NYSC to start planning ahead of resumption in future phases, but not within this current phase of the response,” he said.

“We will work closely with them to design policies that may allow this to happen in the future.”


Meanwhile, the second phase of the eased lockdown has been extended for another four weeks.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), as of August 6, 2020, out of the 44,890 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 32,165 persons have been discharged, while 927 deaths have been recorded.

there are two ways i know you can do that:
1, from the camp get urself posted to the local govt, from local govt. the organisation can come and make a request of a corp member then you fill in the space

2, the organisation can make a request to NYSC, that is during ur orientation camp, put u need a staff to do the follow up so that someone wont be posted there instead of you

3, if you are been posted to another organisation but within the same local government where ur choice of organisation is located, just plead for rejection, if u are been rejected then u ask ur choice of organisation to give u a request letter, requesting you to do ur PPA with them.

I refused cos she has really been traumatized by the sad incidence of carrying a child outside wedlock it hasnt really been easy for her... Plus she only hit me once when i was trying so much to hold her down cos she loves running away from healthy discussion that infuriates her

I was in your shoe last year, i know she has anger problem too, i use to calm her down when she is angry thinking that i am the only person that can calm her down with the believe that she will change. I never knew she was pretending to me, immediately we started quarreling over the pregnancy which i never plan for.
there was a day she lucked me up for almost three(3) hours in her office raining all sort of curses and abuses on me. There was a day i went to her place so that we can discourse the way forward, i could not sleep that night until around 2am, she was crying and raining curses on me.I even asked her if your curse should come to manifestation and i die, who will be the father of the unborn child?
