Violence breaks out in Sabon Gari, Kano

Violence on Tuesday evening erupted in Sabon Gari area of Kano metropolis as irate youth went on rampage.

Sabon Gari, inhabited largely by non-indegenes, is the epicenter of ethnic and religious violence in the state.

Security sources told DAILY NIGERIAN that the crisis began when officials of Hisbah went to make arrest at a red light district of Ballat Hughes Road.

“At the moment, I can’t tell you specifically what transpired between the Hisbah officials and the youth. All I can say is that the Hisbah operation went awry, and youth started attacking and burning places,” said a security agent.

Witnesses said there was stampede around Sabon Gari area as bonfires were set by hoodlums.

Other sources said some people were killed and many others injured in the clash.

Spokesman for Kano Police Command, Abdullahi Kiyawa, did not respond to our telephone call.

Let me clear the air abit on people believing she has been hitting me always..

During the public incidence where she held my shirt tightly for me to give her back her phone,, i refused cos she was running away from the serious discussion we were having

I refused cos she has really been traumatized by the sad incidence of carrying a child outside wedlock it hasnt really been easy for her... Plus she only hit me once when i was trying so much to hold her down cos she loves running away from healthy discussion that infuriates her

Well we can all blame a 20 soon to be 21 year old gurl by December..
