Ethiopia has had a long bilateral relationship with Russia dating back to 1898. China needs Russia to counter the West if shit hits the fan. India needs Russia to mediate between it and China should a full -scale war arising from its border disputes with China ever happens. Pakistan and Russia have established diplomatic relations in 1948. In recent times Beijing is playing a key role in bringing Russia and Pakistan together since it thinks that these regional countries can make a formidable force to deal with regional and international challenges. In essence, them Pakis follow the carrot because they’re heavily indebted to China. And Belarus is just an extension of Russia. It’s all about quid pro quo !

Protests can be done peacefully. My only concern is that some silly, shortsighted and selfish Nigerians would be used by the government to sabotage the protests. Nigerians should docile while the country implodes on itself.

Such wanton and reckless spending can happen only in a country where the wealth generated in some regions are shared to all regions of the country- even to regions that contribute very little to the national coffers. Governors are allocated billions of Naira monthly to spend at their discretion with little or no accountability. Were Nigeria not designed to favour some regions at the detriment of others, every regions would have been empowered by the constitution to use a vast amount their resources to develop themselves. Nigeria is a messed up, twisted country!
