Nukes aside, Russia can’t stand China in a war ! Even Nigeria would be a hard nut to crack! This invasion of Ukraine has exposed the rot, disorderliness and lack of modern fighting weapons of the Russian military. Although Russia, without any doubt, still possesses one of the toughest armed forces in the world. However, her inability to conquer Ukraine has dealt a heavy blow on her erstwhile feared reputation.

The west sponsor a regime change by deposing a president who happen to come from eastern Ukraine( majorly ethnic Russian) in 2014 and installing theirs. They even remove Russia language from the official two language.

Due to this the Eastern region of Donbass which are majorly Russian speaking declared a breakaway state but Ukraine has been killing and bombing them since 2014 killing more than 14000 ethnic Russian.

Russia annex Crimea majorly ethnic Russian due to this singular act.

Before blaming Russia, know the Genesis of this matter

By your analogy, it’d be fitting for Russia to interfere in every sovereign nation where there are ethnic Russian communities like there are in Uzbekistan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Estonia…Hmm!

You cannot solve mass transportation in an already congested and overpopulated city like Lagos by sharing "uber taxis."

What do these silly politicians see when they travel abroad?

Don't they see an urban bus and ticketing system?

Don't they see dependable overhead and underground train systems?

Don't they see ferries and inland waterways transportation?

Are you going to convey all of Lagos in those cars? Adding even more traffic to an already congested city? If anything, a forward thinking government would be thinking of ways to get more cars off the roads of Lagos than more cars on it.

Apart from the fact that the money for most of those cars will never be recouped, this ride taxi scheme is a white elephant project that was established to enrich a few government officials by way of bogus contracts and free cars.

God bless you tremendously for echoing my thoughts! Lagos State doesn’t need more cars on her already congested and dilapidated roads. What she needs are effective and alternative means of commutation such as surface and underground train systems.

China is about a quarter the size of Africa (if I’m correct); with a population of about 1.3 billion people yet there are surveillance cameras covering almost the entire country. The security of the lives and properties of citizens must be the top priority of every sensible government.

Although I grew up in Lagos, I fell in love with Ibadan the first time I went in 2006 because of its layback and tranquil nature. The people are generally friendly, food is cheaper there than in Lagos; rent is affordable ( my bro lives in a 250k 3 bedroom apartment at Fodacis). When I went back to IB 2016 and 2017, I was impressed by the developments that I saw -new shopping malls, roads, estates…I love IB!

N.B: Those who find the brown roofs in Ibadan unsightly know nothing about tangible cultural heritages.
