Is he prepared to follow the electoral act this time or he just want to select a 6 months tenure chairmen again? |
Smartcitizen:You are the one suffering from emotional confusion. The law is not the law as you imagined. It is like saying you can sue a person for damaging your neighbors fence. What's your business with that? You can't leave your party and go to another party and still want to carry the mandate of the party with you, it's not possible and that's not the position of the law.Politicians do it all the time. In fact, a simple Google will give you enough samples for this year alone. Even if a party want to punish a defector(in this case, PDP never made a move), they would have to prove there was a legal defection. That is, the suspected member resigning from party, joining another party at ward level and paying the required fee. You may argue that you saw a video, that is nonsense in the eyes of the law. If you claim to be the president on video, that doesn't automatically make you a president. There is a process to these things. |
christejames:See this one. With LG autonomy, no election, no allocation! Days of caretakers are over! And if Fubara decides to rush elections again like last time without adhering to electoral act, the new chairmen will be sacked again. |
Frank is being an idiot as usual. He should have learnt by now that he cannot blackmail the supreme court. The issue of defection was indeed before the supreme court. Fubara lied that he recently started the case at the high court even though he has no standing on the issue. Nobody except the sponsoring party has the right to sue an elected person for defection. |
Smartcitizen:You don't even understand the picture you posted Supreme court and not the governor sacked him. Secondly, it was the party and not the governor that initiated the case. No governor including Fubara has a standing on the issue of defection of an elected person. Only the party can complain and must be done with evidence! |
LordBiden:Obaseki and Fubara will be like children in politics if you bring them into Lagos political climate. Stronghead is useless in such context. |
MrHighSea:Not a crime unless she financially benefited fraudulently or someone got harmed. False claimsDoesn't apply in this case. Lying is not a crime unless it is accompanied by financial fraud or benefits. She could make the company to lose real buyersThis isn't a crime as the law doesn't operate on assumptions and suppositions. But if the company can show they have lost money, then they can be compensated from her daily daily hawking profits! |
alizma:But that is not a crime warranting an arrest. It is a civil suit. The police should never have been involved. This is nothing but abuse of police power. |
writetopoker601:How old are you? It happened in Plateau and it happened in Ekiti. |
ddippset:Rivers state high court cannot override Federal, Appeal and Supreme court! Do I need to spell this out. Fubara was ordered to represent the budget by three highest courts, he ignored them all and he is still ignoring them. Mark this post. Fubara will be the first legally impeached governor with no option to come back if he continues in his illegal grandstanding. |
erico2k2:No, it is not 419. If I claim to have paid 100m to buy Aso-rock, the claim in itself is not a crime. Unless somebody was harmed by the statement or suffer financial loss, in which case would most likely result in a civil suit, not a criminal prosecution. If such a claim was used to defraud a person, then we have a crime. In this case, there is no evidence, the testimony giver defrauded anyone. |
treatise:Neither deceit or misinformation is a crime. Unless you can prove that such deceit led to an actual crime. |
PaChukwudi44:Forget about ultimatum, Fubara will be impeached if he failed to represent the budget. You should have learn by now that time doesn't favor your political analysis. I can't count the number of times you celebrated very early only for your predictions to fail badly at the end of the day. |
It seems this Jim Okolo is gunning for a top political post. |
psucc:Sanwo-Olu is not lucky. He is just not stupid to start a fight at the wrong time. Even now, nobody can pin the assembly issue on him. |
psucc:It will be levies. But the bandits will soon realize that levies can't match up to kinapping ransom and cattle rustling and will go back to their banditry. |
Foolish deal that will collapse soonest. The bandits hold all the cards, the have the weapons, the fortress and the money. |
You will never find them in protest against oil spill and unemployment in Bayelsa. But when mobilized with 3K, they would support anything. What a shame. |
Will Obasa willingly resign? |
What is the crime here? |
Way to go. It was a senseless policy. I was surprised the governors didn't also give the civil servants 5 weeks break for fasting to ease the stress as they claimed. Well, everyone can clearly see that "Sharia for muslims only" is a lie to hoodwink the gullible. |
PaChukwudi44:I just said the panel's verdict won't matter. The house will still declare an impeachment which will turn Fubara to a civilian. Then Fubara will need to reverse the "wrong" impeachment via the courts as other governors like Obi, Ladoja and Nyako did. If you check all those cases, all the governors lost their office first and became civilians before finally reversing their impeachment via the courts. The real problem for Fubara is that the lawmakers have real documented violations against him. If they were ordinary or fake violations, it would have been better but Fubara thinks and has been acting like he is bigger than the courts and consistently ignoring their orders. |
HydraFeeds:It appears you don't the meaning of gloablisation. Trump was elected to destroy globalisation! |
PaChukwudi44:State chief judge role is to constitute panel by force, he can't choose not to. The verdict won't matter, Fubara will be impeached and will become an ex-governor. He will then need to go and reclaim his seat as an ordinary citizen through the same judiciary he has consistently attacked and belittled their orders. Fubara will be the first impeached governor to fail in reversing his impeachment because he committed a grave offense called contempt of court. |
PaChukwudi44:Joker. |
oyichi:See this one. The Chief judge must perform his constitutional duties. Have you ever seen a chief judge refuse to swear in a governor? No, that is because, they have no choice. They either do their job or get removed from office. |
Risingblue008:Don't be deceived. Soludo isn't chasing scammers. |
JagabanBorgu:Correct. I hate it when countries define their identity in terms of colonialists. It reeks of inferiority complex. There are millions of reasons to dump the wigs(it has even been abandoned by many colonialist), but what is it about perpetual victimhood? And leaders who do this showmanship are those who needs to distract the populace from pressing issues. The irony is that the military uniform the dear leader of Burkina Faso wears is also a colonial relic. That is not how an African General dressed. |
IGBOPROMISE1:All these years, you have not developed correct legal reasoning. There is nothing like extra-ordinary rendition anywhere in Nigerian law but because the political lawyers know how ignorant their audience is, they continue to spout the nonsense. He could have been disappeared, kidnapped, tricked however he was obtained is irrelevant to the charges against him. As of today, March 2, Kanu is being legally held that is all that matters. |
Paraman:I believe her. You seem to struggle with analogy. Akpabio is a shameless womanizer that fits in with your brother being a serial thief. It is even worse if a friend of your said brother was the accuser since we know Natasha and Akpabio have known each other for a long time as "family friends" before she became a senator. You can bury your head in sand as long as you want. BTW, stop wasting time praying. The world operates base action and consequence. It's because of your hate for the APC, Tinubu and Akpabio you guys are talking like this. This is the same lady who accused Reno of the same thing sometime ago. I'm surprise you people are believing the word of a person like thatWhy do you guys believe when you mention "hate", you automatically win political argument? I have seen this so many that it feels like dealing with some programmed bot. Is it some sort of cult indoctrination or just sustained propaganda? Perhaps, you were expecting a defensive reaction, that is what the naive will do, not me. FYI, it means nothing to me. Nobody is under any obligation to love , hate, cherish, or despise your party/organization or whichever demi-god you worship. On the issue of extreme womanizing, Akpabio is a disgrace to public service. |
Paraman:If your brother had been a serial thief and was now accused again. The sensible thing to do is to partially believe and then ask for investigation. |
It is very easy to identify children in politics. For the umpteenth time, Fubara is neither a king nor an emperor. He is not superior to the house or judiciary! |
