The topic is misleading.l thought it was that the American hip-hop star-Usher Raymon that deflated the op's tyres and then threathened to beat him up.That was my first reaction until l read the story. Not my fault though entertainment news have now taken over the FP thus l was expecting to read something like that.Meanwhile the op probably walked out on the usher after parking his car(according to the story above)without bothering to even ask for the man's views. You should have ask for his reasons for not allowing you to park at that particular space. This singular act have really put a dent on the usher's ego and in such a situation one can only expect the same situation the op related above.Anyone that have watched the movie "Phone Booth" by Joel Schumacher will understand the lenght by which people can go to prove a point when they felt belittled. You only need to go to public places-like bank to see how these high & mighties treat securities guards with disdain when they try to prevent them from parking or any offer that is contrary to their comfort.Let's be respective in our dealings.lt takes nothing away and costs nothing. |

This has started making one feel that there is no God again in Nigeria. It further exposed the limited knowledge the so 70 wise 'prophects'have about the Bible including the organizers (captains) of the excursion project.Jesus said "what did you go out into the desert to gaze on....."(Luke7:24-26)Let's pray here at home;He is everywhere. |
U are in the waiting room and stil have time to type all these?is that how adicted u are to NL?aren't u supposed to be apprehensive about what is awaiting u behind that brown door ,fidgeting & sweating profusedly while farting silently occasionaly.Job interviews is now like visiting the Father Christmas Grotto awaiting ur turn to sit on the Santa's lap.Wish u the name of Mr President. |
Having read the history of how my forefathers were carried away into slavery by the British and other Europeans masters, with all sort of wicked treatments they gave them;l used to think that the least l could do to get back at them is to murder their language-the only legacy they left behind since l don't speak or write English in order to pass exams or interviews anymore but l later discovered that the act was destroying all that l have acquired in all the years l spent on my education at an amazing speed within a very short period of time and have since retraced my steps. Speaking/constructing good English sentences provides certain undue advantages in some certain situations like getting away with traffic offences by confusing the officials with torrents of Linguistic Jingoism.Have done it many times. |
Looks more like a testimonia football match arrangement for a retiring player.Keshi? |
I decided to wait this long before l comment on this post and was surprised with the sheer ignorance of some ppl couple with inability to just think outside the box. When many heard that Mr Kanu travelled to Austria via power bike what their minds can't fanthom is how he managed to ride through the Meditteranean or fly his bike over the Gilbatrar among many other trans-boarder obstacles only little mind can see. They don't even bother to go through some links provided by some sound mind commentators where the man in details explained how he execute the trip;na wah o na so we lazy reach?Even Mr Kanu's adventures did not come as a news to some of us who had been following it for some time now-My God where is Shagatti when you need him. Other Nigerians in the past have performed such feats as early as 60s. Late Olabisi Ajala readily comes to mind who tour the world on Scooter not even a power bike. He was a journalist and a well documented details of his adventures was given in his book 'An African Abroad' Yoruba ppl always make allusion to his feat by reffering to anybody who loves travelling as 'Ajala'.There is also an Hausa man again who travelled the world on motorcycle Abudulahi-can't remember his other name. This is to show that Nigerians love adventures we just have to accord some respect to those ppl that put their name in a small place in d record book rather than trying to rubbish the efforts they put into such dangerous expenditions. |
Did anyone else noticed the NOKIA 3310 that GEJ was holding? |
It is a lazy way of constructing sentences like l rightly stated here www.nairaland.com/1927314/funny-things-only-nigerians/2#26761516 |
So it is already 180days!well no amount of marching or jogging will do any good now. The whole saga is a political chess game just that the unfortunate girls were used as pawn. Nigeria politics like l had commented elsewhere today is based on the sentiment on the part of the electorates. lt is their opinion about you on the eve of the elections that get you the ticket;the "l used to go to school without shoes"and the recent "stomach infrastructure" at Ekiti readyly come to mind. Mark this space, the Chibok girls will be released in January some days prior to the general elections and not before. Jonathan will then ride on the blaze of this glory to Aso Rock. The stage is already set and the now edge that our Military forces are now having over the insurgents is an already worked out calculations the finaly piece of the jigsaw puzzle will now fall into place when the insurgents release the girls and laid down their arms while Jonathan government take all the credit. Even the victory recorded in curbing of the Ebola is already on the scorecard which Jonathan already had up his sleeves.*sips water* |
The phrase 'be like' is a lazy way of constructing sentences. lt is good to use the appropriate verbs while constructing our sebtences to make them more meaningful. Sentence such as "Nigerians be like..." is quite annoying but writing something such as "Nigerians reactions is like" is better and not hard to write. |
Provocative thought. Education is one of those overhyped aspect of life in this part of the world. People here believed that you can only make it in life by attaining Western education only whereas most that succeeded in doing so are just certificate carriers with no depth. lt is so sad that our society had imposed this mentality into us at our very tender ages. l remember 1 day during my primary school days. l was trekking home with a friend and classmate and it was during raining season, previous rain had left puddles in the middle of the road and you have to dodge ur way around them.A car was coming at our direction and before we could properly step aside for it to pass the driver drove into one of the stagnant waters and showered us with muddy water. While we were assisting each other to wipe up by the side of the road, the car reversed and the driver a woman came down and expressed how sorry she was. She then told us something that day that l still remember till now she said "l was able to splash water on you because l read my book and become a rich woman so if you too can face your studies you too will become prosperous and throw water at passers-by with ur wheels"she thn gave each of us N5:we were in pry 3 then in 1989. Now 25yrs after,my friend who had dropped out in pry5 due to his Father's death (to learn auto spare parts business)is now a successful man, speaks 3 international languages(like a native) and shuttle in and out of the country at will while l am still in the corporate world slavery(though l do throw water at people with my car tyres). My opinion,we acquire Western education to become modern day slaves. |

Dear OP for u to have even think about restitution clearly shows dat u have been already arrested by the Spirit itself. The essence of restitution is to settled all the reminants of sins that can prevent our prayers or prevent us from making heaven. Satan job as the accuser of the brethren is to always bring all these to God notice now and then. There is no way you can remember all your past sins but the Holy Spirit will bring them to your notice those one that you need to restitute. Any aspect of your life that makes you cring anytime it comes to your remembrance like your case above needs to be settled because you can trust the Holy Spirit,it woll not let you rest until you obey all you have to do is to pray to God for guidance and ACT. Restitution is a very sensitive aspect of Christiandom that most Christians like to avoid but the bitter truth is that there is no way a heaven bound Christian will dodge it. Restitution had made people to lose jobs, spouse, material things,go to jail and even get killed but all these cannot be compared to the horror of missing rapture or the pains of hell fire but you can always get assurance of the peace that will engulf your spirit as you get the assurance daily that you are heaven bound. All in all brother don't struggle with the Spirit just pray to go for his favour as you settle your case with God this type of case is not the type you bring to NL because it is not because it is not a carnal issue that everybody understands(many churches don't even believe nor teach it)so it is like looking for a virgin in a maternity ward. You will only be led astray;just listen to your spirit l pray you get His Favour as you go about it. |
'They 've got Sanogo now they want to get either Lugano or Yobo and in January they will get Snobo and Obo' A readers reaction after reading online that Arsenal are weighing up the idea of signing Yobo or Lugano as a temporary measure to fix their troubled CB before the January Transfer Market. |
Some of them have started their campaign already. I think the constitution said that it is unlawful to start election campaign 90 days prior to the election proper. My take on this is that they were already breaking the law they were vying to uphold by this act of impunity. What would happen when they get there proper can only be imagined. |
Maybe someone on social network had told him to go and hug a transformer and he literarilly carried out the instructions to the letter. It moght also be a suicide mission. |

Most of these youth corpers especially the females sometimes make you wonder how they got themselves into the system. They were barely employable yet they have arrogant attitude oozing out of their pores. I have an encounter with a lady corper the other day at one ATM Point in my area. That particular machine was the only one functioning on that day and as expected there was a long queue. It eventually got to the turn of the lady corper and she was spending too much time to make the transaction.People began to urge her to hurry up but to my chagrin this lady was giving them middle finger sign.l left my position on the queue to see what was wrong, she was trying to withdraw N4500 whereas the machine was instructing her to enter her inputs in the multiple of 1000.l mildly pointed out this to her but the 'otondo' asked me to mind my biz. l calmly to her that it wouldn't have been my business if after many years of her education she can't decipher a simple instructions consisting only 5 words written in English but for my time she was wasting in the process of exhibiting her mediocrity.Trust Lagosians they joined me at this juncture and she was thoroughly saturated with insults. She left there crest-fallen and l felt sorry for her.l think the 1yr compulsory service should be scrapped because most of those wearing the uniform did not even worth the wool with which it was sewn. |
