He is just playing to the gallery and victimising the weak.
There are major activities going on on the lagoon side that he does not have the balls to tackle.
Major land reclamation activities, from chevron down to freedom way, the lagoon is being sandfilled. This reduces the volume of water the lagoon can accommodate cos all the water channels in lekki empty into the lagoon. So many islands popping up there....

Lol, this is so true... Na so so sandfilling them dey do for that side... I think that's even one of the major source of the issue

if you have lived in Lagos long enough then you will know that even if all the houses in Lagos are demolished the problem of flooding will still be there.
I have lived in many parts of Lagos in the last 47 years and I know exactly what I am saying

Although I'm not the one you quoted, but I beg to differ... I've seen areas in Lagos that were very prone to flooding, but ONCE demolitions and construction of drainage was done, the flooding became a thing of the past, e.g check out Gbagada area, around Deeper Life church, after the necessary things were done there, flooding became a thing of the past, even with the undulating topography... Same applies to some estates here in Ayobo

That's why I am all for demolition of illegally constructed buildings blocking drainages. Mr Tokunbo Wahab should increase the tempo. These are good justifications.

Try owerri to Enugu, you will know what good governance is all about ; One of the memorable journeys I had in the last Yuletide

Owerri to Enugu, passing through Okigwe?

That was my route during my University days at UNN... The only memorable part about that road during that period was the windy road around UDI...

Seems I'll venture that direction soon...

It'll be very good if all the interstate roads are well constructed... Look at how bad the Onitsha - Owerri road has degenerated to. The erosion-ravaged part of the road sef, e be like say na bricklayers dem dey use repair am, very shoddy work being done there

Look at Owerri - Port Harcourt road (Obinze axis), if we can have that kind of road cutting through all the SE states, trust me, it'll bring more development to the region... That's why I'm happy with what Hope is doing to the Umuahia road

SAD OBSERVATION

Going to Obinze, I noticed the general Hospital and even police headquarters that Rochas built along that axis are now in shambles... Completed structures in the headquarters are even being pulled down, as in after spending millions to build, then you get bulldozers to start pulling them all down

Abeg, the government has to look into it

The general Hospital beside the NYSC camp has been partially taken over by NYSC officials, for accommodation during camping... Atleast, if government decides to be useless, they're helping keep some part of it in good shape... But that wasn't the reason why it was constructed, let the government put all these structures to good use... Even if not all at once, let them start from somewhere

Mgbidi-Oguta road basically completed.

I was in Imo state two weeks ago, and although I didn't move around much, but I really want to commend the work being done on the Owerri-Umuahia expressway...

Mehn, during one of the days, I spend just around or below 30minutes to get to Afor-ogbe, from Owerri... My sisters I wanted to pick were surprised with how fast the journey was...

I believe if the road is constructed, it'll reduce the time spent and also reduce transport fare...

Although they have to do more... I spoke with the contractors around Junction, asking why the slow pace of work and they asked me to release funds and work will be done speedily... We had a good laugh over it... Lol

KUDOS to the government, but ABEG, let them not stop the work halfway... Let it go all the way to the boundary with Abia State

Let me break down something

If u employ

If u employ 500 people which job description as gutter cleaners and pay them 75k monthly

It would cost the state 450 million yearly...

If u charge each house in the cities 3000 per month and u have say 300,000 houses

It would give you 10.8 billion

You can employ 5000 people to sweep the states, costing u 4.5 billion yearly

U have 3 billion u can build plastic recycling factory that convert waste plastic to plastic dustbins

Use 2 billion for trucks

U have used a simple problem to create 5500 sustainable jobs

Your cities would be cleaners

By the second year u can start using the 5 billion profit to plant trees and gardens

This is what governance is all about

Mehn, look at the way you broke it down... I think this is the Lagos model, although they don't pay up to 75k... Something around 30k... Understandable when you factor in truck maintenance and fueling

Na police own make them comot... Between Owerri and Umuahia, there are about 7 police checkpoints, collecting #100

Funny thing is, they give you change if you give them any amount above #100

On Onitsha bridge where they load bus to Owerri, there's a police checkpoint there. They resume by 10am and collect #100 from Keke napep riders

Those are the issues that need to be addressed, not FRSC and VIO...who even stops for FRSC and VIO in the first place
