Na police own make them comot... Between Owerri and Umuahia, there are about 7 police checkpoints, collecting #100

Funny thing is, they give you change if you give them any amount above #100

On Onitsha bridge where they load bus to Owerri, there's a police checkpoint there. They resume by 10am and collect #100 from Keke napep riders

Those are the issues that need to be addressed, not FRSC and VIO...who even stops for FRSC and VIO in the first place

Tegina use to have a strong vigilante group that always resisted this Fulani jihadists.

They most have been compromised

For there to be a military base there now, I believe the military must have disarmed the vigilante group... Almost same thing happening in Benue State, where the military will ask the vigilantes to drop their weapons, that they'll take over, and end up not protecting the people from attacks

They failed on the most important issues. This salary issue doesn’t concern more than 80% of Nigerians.

We should be on strike for fuel, better education and cheaper universities, good roads etc . Not for civil servants wages!

That's my point also, labour is going on strike about something that concerns how many Nigerian?

Is that what they're supposed to be going on strike for?

They can carve out a name for their own and do a 300% increment as was recently done for judges... What will he say then?

Travel / Re: Nigerians In UK Lament Accommodation Crisis by Yampotatocarrot(m): 1:37pm On Jun 09
GerogeI:

I do not know why, but people always make the mistake of comparing currencies directly. You simply can't.

Your rent in UK might be 1000 GBPs, but you earn on average 3000 pounds per month, meaning you rent is 30% of your earning.

Back here, your average monthly rent will be N200k say you work in VI, and live in Ajah, your salary averages N500k per month, your rent is roughly 40%

Meaning, neither place is better off. The only time you gain from relocation is whatever little savings you make, and decide to invest back home. Whenever you invest back home you take advantage of a colonial economic barrier created by first would countries, through IMF manipulating our usually economic illiterate leaders into thinking there is a fair market value for paper currencies without intrinsic value.

This barrier only serves to create a filtration of best trained workforce from your country to theirs. Cheapen your raw materials, and exclude your local population from international business dominance, innovation and and new product development. You average citizen cannot even afford a local flight, talkless of your SMEs, Academics, and Youths traveling around to learn new things, attend conferences, and trade fares, or bid and compete for opportunities that will add value to your economy. Your country is essentially existing in its local bubble, and not an economic threat to the West or OECD.

So any leader, like Buhari and Tinubu, that deliberately devalues her countries currency has been grossly foolled, and has questionable intellectual capacity. You do not deal with rising forex demand by devaluation, rather by import restriction, and import substitution. You do not measure you economic progress by forex earning, but by real production in your economy.

Rather than give workers higher minimum wage, it's better to revalue your currency ( whesther by redenominating, fixing rates or gold backing) to be within same nominal value as major currencies, and ban import of anything that is being produced locally, or unnecessary luxury consumables such as branded chocolates, clothes, cookies. Focus your import on tools, Machinery and advanced technical materials that are not available locally.

The worst thing that can happen to an economy is the loss of the cream of her work force, and the isolation of her business internationally, and these are the real goals of IMF currency devaluation.

Add shrimps abi na prawn abi na big crayfish... Saw it and a mall and asked why it's so expensive, was told it's imported... Asked the lady who attended to me why they'll sell imported prawn when we have a lot of such in Nigeria... She said she does not know o, but that's what some "big men and women" buy when they come and they buy it in large quantities
