It’s sad that people who cannot provide for themselves some of the most basic necessities of life like food, water, power, security, transport good governance etc somehow feel superior? If Nigerians are superior then the black race is doom forever

Cameroon is in West Africa geographically! Politically it's not because of differences with Nigeria.

Most often Nigerians forget that there are almost 200 million of them, and that the real “rich nigerian” (mostly politicians and oil thieves) are no more than 5 million, followed by a about 20 million in the middle class category. The remaining over 150 million of you live in abject poverty. About 80% you lot live in total poverty, crime, injustice, ignorance and scam. Poverty rate in your “rich” country is one of top 10 countries (the other members of this top 10 are mostly war torn). Sorry I forget. Nigeria is a war torn country anyway. So anybody with even an average level of common sense knows Nigeria is not rich, of course most Nigerians have a below average commonsense anyway so they can’t even realize how bad their situation is. Pathetic.

We are talking about age we can verify sir. Not some religious superstition. In any case the human body cannot be vailable for that length of time. The Methuselah claim in the bible is a suspect.

What are you talking about?

So because Motorola made the first handset, Nokia and other phone manufacturers are copycats (or photocopies) ?

Or because NTA is the first Nigerian tv station, all others are copycats?

Or because Facebook came first, Nairaland is a copycat.?

Google is a big company with billions of dollars sitting in their bank accounts and thousands of top-edge engineers, I therefore expect them to take the lead, not wait for a small startup company to comeup with a brilliant idea just for google to come and bully them out. Most of the apps are started by individuals with practically no financial help initially. They deserve better. Google needs to show some ingenuity

Instead of perfecting and repacking someone else's invention why were you not creative enough to invent and popularize your own? As at now I have never heard of a famous Nigerian dance.

I thought Nigerian is too rich for its citizens to migrate to another country to do petty trading? Anyway for those of you who don’t know, Ghanaian laws states that for a foreigner to engage in retail trading in Ghana that person should have no less than $300,000.00 to invest. That is a law passed by parliament of Ghana and think that make sense. After all which country on earth has room for foreign petty traders? They create no job, pay no meaningful tax and put burden on the countries resources. If you don’t have the required money to invest just go back to your “Giants of Africa”

Business / Re: 20 Nigerian Companies In Forbes Top 25 Companies In West Africa by yawkusi: 3:54pm On Feb 11, 2013
Good for Nigeria, of cause for a big population you should naturally dominate. But there is more to worry about this list than to celebrate. Firstly they are mostly banks and believe me if your economy is dominated by banks then you probably don’t have a real economy. They create much fewer jobs (compared to their revenue), they earn you no foreign exchange, they create no concrete product people can spend your money on, what they mostly do is circulating money and making money out of it. Also almost all the manufacturing companies are actually not Nigerian. Just Nigerian subsidiaries. They transfer every kobo made out of Nigeria. Please let no one hung me because I am a Ghanaian, AFCON IS OVER, we also face the same problem here in Ghana. We African should learn from the Germans, the Japanese and the Koreans. Our economy should be dominated by making things, a real economy, not a virtual economy dominated by banks, insurance, shops and other pure commerce activities

You're simply blinded by jealousy & ignorance which has also blocked ur sense of reasoning. That Ngeria won miss world amongst other things is not an achievement?. Mr man if u are nigerian then u 're one hell of a sadist & antagonist. If u're not nigerian, kindly put down the name of ur miserable country let's make comparisons. Until you do that, I won't respond anymore to the posts of a myopic illiterate like you.

The problem is that you don't even know what an achievement is in the first place. Simply burying your head in the sand and thinking every problem will disappear is a sign of insanity. And I will not mention my country because I didn't make this comment because of my country. If I mention my country the whole discussion would turn to it. I just saw some of the 'achievements' mentioned not to be achievement at all.

I only sampled the list. About my country? I thought the question was about Nigeria?
Politics / Re: Describe Nigeria In Few Sentences........... by yawkusi: 4:08pm On Dec 30, 2012
donwilz: Name the two please. And may you kindly indicate your country of origin?

Sadly most people here don't even know what an achievement is. Do you consider
1.African Country with most ethnicity and achievement? Did you envisioned, planned and worked hard to get all those ethnic groups? Nonsense
2.African Country with most internet users -Nigeria/Country in the world with most
cellphone users and fastest growing: Are sure you could have 'achieved' this if you had the population of say Togo?
3.First African to win a Miss world beauty pageant-Nigeria. Do u consider beauty achievement or nature?
4.First African country to launch a communication satellite: the satellite was designed and built in Essex UK and lunched on Russian rocked.
5.Country with Africa’s biggest Christian population-Nigeria Country with Africa’s largest Muslim population- Nigeria. This is an achievement? Jesus!
6.Biggest oil producer in Africa- Nigeria Biggest gas producer (Liquified Natural gas)- Nigeria . I didn't know you were around 2 billion years ago to put the oil under the ground. Anyway shell is the winner in that
6.Largest number of African migrants living in the U.S.A- Nigeria Africa’s biggest communities in the UK- Nigeria. Anybody who consider this to be achievement must be beheaded. It's actually due to lack of achievement
7. Country with the most bible in the world? Achievement? laughable!

I don't have time for all of it but I honestLY believe the everage IQ at nairaland could be about 70 (Thats average Nigerian IQ)

They just wanna make some money (2000 naira) from Yellow Fever rackets, please Nigerians, help poor Ghana

As a Nigerian I know you been brought not to accept any form of civility. No laws no moral. Anything goals. I don't blame you. You were born into it and has normalized with you. This is a nation where human beings die at the average age of 49. Yes life expectancy of 49, and you can brag? A nation of almost zero national power grid. No pipe pone water. No any form of trust. where 18% of newborns die before their 5th birthday in this 21st century. Where kidnapping and bombings happen almost as often as a disco light flashes. Where it's unsafe to travel by air, car or even walking. The 14th most failed state on earth. Yes and when you hear the citizens of this nation talking you will think they live in Switzerland? I do not know if there is a physiological term to describe your state of mind. but I can say for sure you are hell on earth.
