Muslim employee who saved lives at Kosher supermarket in Paris praised for his courage as he is granted citizenship by France Mali-born Lassana Bathily, 24, saved lives during Paris attacks Kosher grocery employee turned off freezer and hid shoppers He then sneaked out and helped police outside free the hostages Bathily was granted French citizenship and praised for his 'heroism' The Muslim kosher supermarket employee who saved several shoppers lives during the Paris attack has been granted French citizenship. Lassana Bathily, 24, was praised for his 'courage and heroism' by Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve during a ceremony in the presence of Prime Minister Manuel Valls. Mr Cazeneuve said Mali-born Bathily's 'act of humanity has become a symbol of an Islam of peace and tolerance.' Tonight I'm very proud and deeply touched,' Mr Bathily, who went to school in Paris, said with tears in his eyes. He humbly stressed that he does not consider himself a hero, saying: 'I am Lassana. I'll stay true to myself.' 'People are all equal to me and skin color isn't a matter. France is the country of human rights,' he added. Mr Bathily was in the store's underground stockroom when gunman Amedy Coulibaly burst in to the Hyper Cacher supermarket in Porte de Vincennes, Paris, on January 9 and killed four people. The 24-year-old guided terrified customers to safety in a supermarket chiller and has since been praised around the world for his quick-thinking and bravery. Mr Bathily, who reportedly led six people to safety, told BFMTV: 'When they ran down, I opened the door [of the freezer]. 'There are several people who came to me. I turned off the light, I turned off the freezer. 'When I turned off the cold, I put them [hostages] in, I closed the door, I told them to stay calm.' Using a goods lift he escaped and was able to give the police valuable information about what was happening inside and where the hostages were hiding. Shy and reluctant to tell his story, Mr Bathily, who went to school in Paris, admitted that after the shoot-out many of the customers came to shake his hand and thank him for what he did. Bathily has lived in France since 2006, attending school in the capital He had filed an application for French citizenship last year. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2918786/Man-saved-lives-Paris-grocery-gets-French-citizenship.html Pic1: The Hero Pic2: Hostages in the freezer Pic:3 Police Storm the supermarket Pic4: The hero meet with Kerry

Let us now examine some verses of war in the Qura'an For every verse of the Quran that is touted as "violent" and "intolerant", the answer generally lies in the preceding or the succeeding verses themselves. Qura'an 2 (190. And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you, but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allah likes not the transgressors.) (And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you,) Abu Al-`Aliyah said, "This was the first Ayah about fighting that was revealed in Al-Madinah. Ever since it was revealed, Allah's Messenger used to fight only those who fought him and avoid non-combatants. (ibn kathir) (...those who fight you) applies only to fighting the enemies who are engaged in fighting Islam and its people. So the Ayah means, `Fight those who fight you', Just as Allah said (in another Ayah): (...and fight against the Mushrikin collectively as they fight against you collectively.) (9:36) (And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out.) meaning, `Your energy should be spent on fighting them, just as their energy is spent on fighting you, and on expelling them from the areas from which they have expelled you, as a law of equality in punishment.' With regards to Surah Anfal Ch. 8 verse 39. It is absolutely true and unadulterated. But one will notice that the verse begins with an And? Doesn't it indicate that there must be something before the verse that set the context of the verse? Let me quote the preceding verse i.e. 8:38 Say to those who have disbelieved that if they cease hostilities, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for them. But if they return to hostility - then the precedent of the former rebellious peoples has already taken place. Clear enough? Verse 8:39 is in the context of those non-Muslims who were hostile to the Muslims back then. Islam is not just a spiritual entity but also a political entity. With the advent of Islam and the Muslim empire most non-Muslim tribes and kingdoms around it began attacking and waging a war against it. All seemingly "violent" verses refer to those who were at war with Muslims/Islam. As for general non-Muslims, the Quran clearly states that they must be treated with kindness and justice. Let us have a look at this verse: Surah Mumtahana 60:8-9 Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly. Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion - [forbids] that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, and then it is those who are the wrongdoers. Therefore, if you see any other verse of war in the Qura'an, have it in mind that it was revealed after the hostility of the disbelievers towards the Muslims. Lastly, the story of Prophet Mose (Peace & Mercy of Allah be on Him) and Children of Israel is a very good example, the hostility, torment and humiliation of Pharaoh and his people towards Mose (Peace & Mercy of Allah be on Him) and His people incurs wrath of God on Pharaoh and his people Mose (Peace & Mercy of Allah be on Him) was given victory through perish in the ocean while Prophet Mohammed (Peace & Mercy of Allah be on Him) was given victory through war. Allah gives victory to whom he wishes, the way he want I wonder if Prophet Muhammed's victory (Peace & Mercy of Allah be on Him) is similar to that of Mose (Peace & Mercy of Allah be on Him), |
Let us take our selves through history and see the disbelievers' hostility against Muslims, they tortured the Muslims just because they believe in Allah Abu Jahal heard that Ammar became a Muslim. So, he got crazy. Abu Jahal led a group of polytheists and went to Yasir's house. Torches were in their hands. They burnt the house and took Yasir, Ammar and Summayya to a desert outside Makkah. They chained and began torturing them. First, they whipped them till blood flowed out. Then they brought torches and began burning their bodies. But that small family went on their firm belief. Abu Jahal brought rocks and put them on their chests. They were breathing hard. Still they were believers. It was noon. The heat was intense. Abu Jahal and the polytheists came back to Makkah. They left Yasir's family in the intense heat of the sun. In the meantime, our Master Muhammad (s) passed by the family. When he saw them he wept and said: Yasir's family, be patient! Your reward will be Paradise! Summayya said with belief: I confess that you're Allah's Apostle. And your promise is true. The criminals came back. Abu Jahal was in advance. There was a long spear in his hand. He began torturing them savagely. Ammar, Yasir and Summayya were unconscious. So the criminals showered them with water. When they got well again, Abu Jahal shouted at Summayya stormily: Praise our gods; dispraise Muhammad! Summayya spat in his face and said: How bad you and your gods are! Abu Jahal boiled in anger. Thus, he raised his spear high and it Summayya on the belly. Then he began stabbing her body with his spear until she died. For this reason, Summayya became the first martyr in the history of Islam. Then Abu Jahal began kicking Yasir on the belly savagely until he died. Ammar saw what happened to his parents and he wept. Then Abu Jahal shouted angrily: If you don't praise our gods, I'll kill you! Ammar could not endure that cruel torture. So he reluctantly said: Hubal (an idol) is great! Ammar praised their idols to save himself from torture. So they unchained and left him. The Belief in the Heart Ammar went weeping to our Master Muhammad (s). He did not weep for his parents or for himself or for the torture he had suffered - he wept because he praised the polytheists' idols. Allah's Apostle consoled Ammar on his parents martyrdom. Ammar went on weeping. Then he said: Allah's Apostle, the polytheists did not release me until they forced me to praise their gods! Our Master Muhammad (s) said kindly: Ammar, what about your heart? Ammar answered: Allah's Apostle, my heart's certain of faith. The Prophet (s) said: Don't worry! Allah sent down a verse concerning you: “Not, he who is compelled while his heart is at rest because of his faith.” This is just one in many, just because they say "we believe in Allah" yet, Allah did not permit his Messenger (Peace & Mercy of Allah be on Him), the prophet (Peace & mercy of Allah be upon him) still pardon them even when He(Peace & mercy of Allah be upon him) has the power to annihilate them and after He has been permitted to fight them. |
Truly all praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and askHis forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our selvesand our bad actions. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can turn himastray. And whomsoever Allah turns astray has none to guide him. Ibear witness that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah, theOnly One without any partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad isHis servant and (final) messenger. It is very common among non Muslims quoting verses of the Qura'an out of context regarding the verses of war; they even result without shame into abusing those we Muslims hold in high esteem. This set of people are categorized in to two First Category: Those that do not know but just go online, copy and paste without researching it vividly For this set of people, let us see what the scriptures say about them: According to Qura'an: O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful. Quran 49 : 6 Bible Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:21(New American Standard Bible But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good ![]() Second Category: Those that know the truth but want to cover it they know that their argument is unjust but they intentionally result to blackmail For this set of people, let us see what the scripture said about them: And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah untruth while he is being invited to Islam. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it. Surah 61: 7 & 8 Some of them have a saying "Islam is spread by sword" , so we ask them simple question: When Prophet Muhammed (Peace & mercy of Allah be upon him) started the propagation of Islam, did he start with sword? When He(Peace & mercy of Allah be upon him) was given the conquest of Makkah with mighty army, while the disbelievers were panicking, thinking that the Muslims will annihilate them all as a result of their atrocities against Muslims, the Prophet (Peace & mercy of Allah be upon him) despite that leave them to leave in peace. So if Islam was spread by sword, why would He (Peace & mercy of Allah be upon him) leave them to live? |

It was narrated from Salman bin ‘Amir that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: إِنَّ الصَّدَقَةَ عَلَى الْمِسْكِينِ صَدَقَةٌ وَعَلَى ذِي الرَّحِمِ اثْنَتَانِ صَدَقَةٌ وَصِلَةٌ “Giving charity to a poor person is charity, and (giving) to a relative is two things, charity and upholding the ties of kinship.” [Sunan an-Nasa’i, 2582] Maintain ties with kinfolks even if they sever ties with you; give them even if they deprive you; be gentle to them even if they are rude or aggressive towards you and be kind to them even if they harm you. If you do so, then you will continue to have the support of Allah so long as you remain as such. The one who severs ties with kinfolks will have the gates of Paradise closed in front of him, his relatives will hate him, and people will talk ill about him saying: “Whoever is not good towards his own relatives will never be good towards other people”; what is left for the one who severs ties after this? Feeding people is a quality of the pious, Allah Said: وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا “And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive.” [Surah Al Insan: 8] إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَاءً وَلَا شُكُورًا “(Saying): “We feed you seeking Allah’s Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you.” [Surah Al Insan: 9] The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم mentioned amongst those whom Allah made paradise mandatory for, those with the following qualities: “Use kind words, spread the greeting of Salaam, and feed people.” (Ibn Hibbaan) It would be amazing if the Muslims were to act upon every Sunnah he hears about in order to be upon the guidance of the honourable Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. This is how our great scholars and the Salaf (righteous predecessors) were. Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal رحمه الله تعالى said: ما كتبت حديثاً إلا وقد عملت به، حتى مرّ بي أن النبي صلّى الله عليه وسلّم احتجم وأعطى أبا طيبة ديناراً فأعطيت الحجام ديناراً حين احتجمت “I never wrote down a hadeeth except that I acted upon it; such that when it reached me that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was cupped and gave Abu Tayyibah a dinar. So I gave the cupper a dinar when he cupped me.” Imam Bukhari recorded in his saheeh under the chapter “Emulating the Actions of the Prophet صلّى الله عليه وسلّم upon the authority of Ibn Umar رضي الله عنه who said: اتخذ النبي صلّى الله عليه وسلّم، خاتماً من ذهب، فاتخذ الناس خواتيم من ذهب , فقال النبي: إني اتخذت خاتماً من ذهب , فنبذه وقال: ” إني لن ألبسه أبداً “. فنبذ الناس خواتيمهم “The Prophet (صلّى الله عليه وسلّم) wore a gold ring and then the people followed him (in this act) and wore gold rings too; (upon seeing this), the Prophet said: ‘I had this golden ring made for myself’. He then threw it away and said: ‘I shall never put it on (again).’ Thereupon the people also threw their rings away.” Allah Said: وَاعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا ۖ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا وَبِذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْيَتَامَىٰ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَالْجَارِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْجَارِ الْجُنُبِ وَالصَّاحِبِ بِالْجَنبِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ مُخْتَالًا فَخُورًا “Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbour, the neighbour farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful.” [Surah Nisa: 36] One of the merits of Islam is that it enjoins maintaining ties with kinfolks even if they are disbelievers, and commands people to be just with all others, even if they are enemies, and to be kind to all creation even if they are animals; what a great religion this is!
