INEC will not count prayer points but valid votes even if they buy the delegates and they present them as their party candidate we have a lot in determining who governs us it does not have to be APC & PDP alone there are other viable candidates in other parties.

I laughed reading this . Your turn too.

This is a TRUE story, we may wish to share with our children

Just before I returned to England in 1989, I tried to be a good boy at home.

Alhaja had gone through all the hard efforts of visiting the British Embassy in Victoria Island, to submit different documents, to prove that I was born in London.

In fact, she had to write our Nanny in Kent, Mrs Watson, for her to confirm that I indeed lived with her as a toddler.

Luckily, she was still alive and copied a letter to the British Embassy, confirming my identity with photographs of me and her.

And she added :

“He was quite a handful, that Abe. He once pushed my son Paul off the rooftop, while playing cowboys and Indians. But it was an accident. Yes, I do remember him very well”

Haaa!

Anyways, I finally got my British Passport and I began counting the days to jaàpá time!

In the meantime, I tried to impress Alhaja that I was now a good boy and could look after myself when I got to London.

I would wash her clothes without her asking me to.

I washed my plate after eating and even made efforts to take my bath early in the morning, even when I was not going out.

I even began making her bed, three times a day.

That is how, one day whilst making her bed, I lifted the mattress and found a white envelope stuffed with money : Different denominations of £ notes.

Haaaa!

The temptation was too much, ejoór!

That is how I began to pinch the lowest denomination of £5, everyday.

Our house was in Ifako-Agege then, so I’d jus nip down to Agege Pen Cinema and exchange the £5 for Naira.

Then I’d take my friends drinking.

In short, my send off to London had started a week before.

All I had to do was offer to make Alhaja’s bed and bingo! I don pocket another £5.

Life was good!

Finally, it was D-day.

At exactly 19:30pm on the 28th of March 1989, Alhaja called me to her room and asked me to kneel down in prayer.

She placed one motherly hand on my head, reached under her King size Vono™️ mattress with the other hand and handed me a white envelope.

Haaaa! ‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️

"Alao okin, Abdul Ganiyu, òkó mi, this is £500 for you to start off on your own, when you arrive in London"

"Please don't join bad gang o. Work hard. Àlubárika.........."

As she continued her prayer, I jus knelt there, mouth wide open, the yèyé envelope limp in my hand.

Mogbe! ‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️

I was almost crying.

Sooooooo, all that £5 £5 I had been kolobiing from under her mattress since, was my own money!

Àṣẹ́ẹ̀, I had been stealing from myself ní!

"Haaaaa! This world is wicked o" I mumbled to myself, as Alhaja continued praying for me.

I couldn't wait for her to finish the prayer, so I could go outside and count how much was left.

Aaah! Mo śe’rà mí!

Meanwhile, àwon boys were still waiting downstairs, for me to come and declare more London sendoff beer.

I hated them at that moment.

I could hear their cat-whistling from Alhaja's bedroom window, urging me to do quick, and bring another £5 to go and change at Danjuma Cinema.

Awòn wèré! It wee not better for friends!

Alhaja passed me some kolanut and honey in a saucer :

"Oya Alao, start praying"

I was just sad

Wettin I wan pray again, after I have stolen my own money to buy beer for my friends?

“Father Lord, please don’t let me steal my own money when I get to London o”

Alhaja opened one eye, and smiled at my prayer.

She knew?

Politics / Re: 2023 Election: Security In Borno Has Improved Tremendously By Over 90% - Zulum by ybalogs(m): 6:29am On Jan 07, 2023
MY FRIEND, SENT THE FOLLOWING TO ME. PLEASE, READ. IT MAY MAKE THE SAME IMPACT ON YOU!

"I PITIED my OLD classmate

Meeting an *old class mate,* we had not seen each other for about *30 years.* The Lord has been kind to me.
When I saw him again, this time at a hotel lobby, *he was looking simple.* He wore *simple clothes.* I felt touched.
He walked up to me and was glad to see me again. But deep within me I was not impressed with his status compared to mine and poor me, I couldn't hide it.
We exchanged contact details and I could see the joy in him as he collected mine.
I told him I will drop him home in my brand new *Range Rover* and I pointed it to him.
He declined and said he had already called for his car. It looked old, *a 2001 Honda Accord*.
I invited him the next day for lunch at my house. A part of me wanted to impress him, *to show off my success and affluence to him,* while another was to discuss opportunities and possibly help him.

He drove to Parkview where I lived. *He looked impressed with my home.* I had taken a heavy mortgage. *In fact I was heavily in debt.* We had lunch. He told me he was into small business and particularly real estate. I brought up more business discussions, but he didn't sound too interested. I asked him how I could help him. He said he was fine. I even told him if he was interested, I could help him secure some loans... He looked at me and smiled.

He told me he would invite me over soon to his place. His old car came for him. I was grateful to God for what I had. *“Fingers are not all equal”,* I thought to myself...I was lucky. I worked in a good place.

Two weeks later, we went to see him in a remote, my wife and I.
She was reluctant to go because she was not impressed with the man's status as to warrant our visiting him in his house.
I was able to convince her that we were close friends in college.
We saw the Estate. We asked for directions to his home. Those leading us spoke his name with deference.
It was a simple but lovely home. A 4 bedroom bungalow. I saw 4 cars parked in front. We entered his home. It was simply elegant with a touch of class inside. He welcomed us warmly.

Lunch was well served.
His wife called him Papa Onos!!!

During lunch, he asked about my MD. He said they were friends. I saw a company gift on one of his tables nearby. That company owned about 38% shares where I worked. I enquired from him about it. He smiled. *He told me he owned the company.* He also owned the estate.

_I did not know when I called him sir... I was in awe of him too._

I had learnt a lesson in humility, A big one. *Appearances are deceptive.* He noticed my discomfort.

Driving back home, I was very quiet. My wife was humbled and extremely calm. I could perceive the thoughts in her mind. I looked at myself. Living on loans, heavy loans and showing off while someone who pays my salary is quite modest and living a simple life!

Indeed *Deeper Rivers Flow In Majestic Silence*!
Adjust your perception towards others this coming year.
*Read, learn and take a good step of change*
*Lesson*
Stop rating people based on physical appearance. Happy New year .

O.P, those 5 governor's DON'T have only 5 votes O! They CONTROL nearly all the votes in their domains. Only those groups with opportunity to benefit directly from Atiku in the states would go against the governor, but they are in the minority. Atiku should not emerged. Southern Nigeria is no slave to northern Nigeria. I hope atiku is soundly defeated at the polls
He will definitely be definitely without the G5. He knows this so I'm pretty sure they're working behind the scene to ensure they come back and soon.

Can't blame you since you think it all starts and ends in Nairaland.

Be there using nairaland to judge a whole nation, go to the streets and feel the vibe of the common people, even on Nairaland sef you urchins and Mikano boys are just a little fraction of the sensible people that wants a good government.

Atiku and Tinubu are one of the same kind of people. They have nothing to offer apparently.
Unfortunately Obi has no structure. It's so unfortunate he will still come third even if not 4th with all the noise only coming online.

Atiku without G5 is going no where and you expect Obi that is if you support Obi to win the election, to win 2023 presidential election. If truly you support him then I can tell you for free that you are among people wey no normal for this country. It's appalling when people say that G5 governors lack of support will affect Atiku and turn around to say Obi without a single governor will win the election. I just don't understand how people reason, like brain dey pain them. What level of deficiency of thought and reasoning.
Obi himself knows he's going nowhere. I don't even discuss him.
