I beg you in the name of whoever you hold in high esteem, please vote for a candidate based on proven competence, integrity and national interests.

Voting your ethnic/tribal man(or woman) will not save us from fuel scarcity.

Voting on the basis of party affiliation will not curb corruption and inflation that we are currently facing.

Voting on the basis of loyalty will not industrialize Nigeria and revive our dying agricultural sector (due to insecurity and poor infrastructures).

Please vote with the mindset that we are stuck with that choice for possibly 8years,and minimum 4 years.

Please vote with your conscience
.

God bless you.

Politics / Re: Lawal Musa Daura And His Many Controversies By Salihu Usman by ybalogs(m): 6:33am On Jan 16, 2023
So a story was told of a king who called his subjects to a feast.

The king promised to provide enough food to feed the entire village, however, he said he wouldn't provide them with any wine.

In order to strengthen their sense of community and foster togetherness, the king asked that the wine be provided by the villagers instead.

He put a very huge pot at the village square and asked that each household poured a keg of palmwine into the pot. If every household donated a keg, they should have enough wine to last them for the entire feast.

On that appointed Eke market day, the villagers started trooping to the village square to donate their quota.

Now, the king decided not to have this process supervised. He trusted his subjects to act accordingly.
You only needed to declare your attendance after you must have poured your keg into the pot.

While this was going on, one man, Mazi Okoro, thought to himself, "If no one is supervising the donation of the palmwine, why do I need to donate at all?"

He reckoned, "If everyone poured in a keg of palmwine and I poured in a keg of water into the pot, no one would be any wiser, and my keg of water would be but a little dilution to the wine and it wouldn't make any difference."

And so he did.
He poured a keg of water into the pot instead of a keg of palmwine.

The days passed, trickled down until the feast day finally arrived.
All was well at the feast until it was time to drink the wine.

Lo and behold, it was only water!

Because while Mazi Okoro thought his keg of water would go unnoticed since everyone else was pouring in palmwine, Mazi Okeke also thought the same.
And so did Mazi Okafor, and Mazi Okonkwo, and the entire village.

So in the end, they had to endure their pot of water throughout the entire feast.
Because who could they complain to? The king? He had nothing to do with it.
They themselves had brought this misfortune upon them.

As elections draw closer, do not be like these villagers and assume that others are going to vote your preferred candidate even if you don't vote.

Do not think "after all, we did million man marches all around the country and people came out in their thousands, so my one vote won't make any difference."

Your vote makes all the difference.
Please, go and collect your PVC!

An important good message. Collect your PCV and vote wisely.

INEC will not count prayer points but valid votes even if they buy the delegates and they present them as their party candidate we have a lot in determining who governs us it does not have to be APC & PDP alone there are other viable candidates in other parties.

I laughed reading this . Your turn too.

This is a TRUE story, we may wish to share with our children

Just before I returned to England in 1989, I tried to be a good boy at home.

Alhaja had gone through all the hard efforts of visiting the British Embassy in Victoria Island, to submit different documents, to prove that I was born in London.

In fact, she had to write our Nanny in Kent, Mrs Watson, for her to confirm that I indeed lived with her as a toddler.

Luckily, she was still alive and copied a letter to the British Embassy, confirming my identity with photographs of me and her.

And she added :

“He was quite a handful, that Abe. He once pushed my son Paul off the rooftop, while playing cowboys and Indians. But it was an accident. Yes, I do remember him very well”

Haaa!

Anyways, I finally got my British Passport and I began counting the days to jaàpá time!

In the meantime, I tried to impress Alhaja that I was now a good boy and could look after myself when I got to London.

I would wash her clothes without her asking me to.

I washed my plate after eating and even made efforts to take my bath early in the morning, even when I was not going out.

I even began making her bed, three times a day.

That is how, one day whilst making her bed, I lifted the mattress and found a white envelope stuffed with money : Different denominations of £ notes.

Haaaa!

The temptation was too much, ejoór!

That is how I began to pinch the lowest denomination of £5, everyday.

Our house was in Ifako-Agege then, so I’d jus nip down to Agege Pen Cinema and exchange the £5 for Naira.

Then I’d take my friends drinking.

In short, my send off to London had started a week before.

All I had to do was offer to make Alhaja’s bed and bingo! I don pocket another £5.

Life was good!

Finally, it was D-day.

At exactly 19:30pm on the 28th of March 1989, Alhaja called me to her room and asked me to kneel down in prayer.

She placed one motherly hand on my head, reached under her King size Vono™️ mattress with the other hand and handed me a white envelope.

Haaaa! ‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️

"Alao okin, Abdul Ganiyu, òkó mi, this is £500 for you to start off on your own, when you arrive in London"

"Please don't join bad gang o. Work hard. Àlubárika.........."

As she continued her prayer, I jus knelt there, mouth wide open, the yèyé envelope limp in my hand.

Mogbe! ‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️

I was almost crying.

Sooooooo, all that £5 £5 I had been kolobiing from under her mattress since, was my own money!

Àṣẹ́ẹ̀, I had been stealing from myself ní!

"Haaaaa! This world is wicked o" I mumbled to myself, as Alhaja continued praying for me.

I couldn't wait for her to finish the prayer, so I could go outside and count how much was left.

Aaah! Mo śe’rà mí!

Meanwhile, àwon boys were still waiting downstairs, for me to come and declare more London sendoff beer.

I hated them at that moment.

I could hear their cat-whistling from Alhaja's bedroom window, urging me to do quick, and bring another £5 to go and change at Danjuma Cinema.

Awòn wèré! It wee not better for friends!

Alhaja passed me some kolanut and honey in a saucer :

"Oya Alao, start praying"

I was just sad

Wettin I wan pray again, after I have stolen my own money to buy beer for my friends?

“Father Lord, please don’t let me steal my own money when I get to London o”

Alhaja opened one eye, and smiled at my prayer.

She knew?

MY FRIEND, SENT THE FOLLOWING TO ME. PLEASE, READ. IT MAY MAKE THE SAME IMPACT ON YOU!

"I PITIED my OLD classmate

Meeting an *old class mate,* we had not seen each other for about *30 years.* The Lord has been kind to me.
When I saw him again, this time at a hotel lobby, *he was looking simple.* He wore *simple clothes.* I felt touched.
He walked up to me and was glad to see me again. But deep within me I was not impressed with his status compared to mine and poor me, I couldn't hide it.
We exchanged contact details and I could see the joy in him as he collected mine.
I told him I will drop him home in my brand new *Range Rover* and I pointed it to him.
He declined and said he had already called for his car. It looked old, *a 2001 Honda Accord*.
I invited him the next day for lunch at my house. A part of me wanted to impress him, *to show off my success and affluence to him,* while another was to discuss opportunities and possibly help him.

He drove to Parkview where I lived. *He looked impressed with my home.* I had taken a heavy mortgage. *In fact I was heavily in debt.* We had lunch. He told me he was into small business and particularly real estate. I brought up more business discussions, but he didn't sound too interested. I asked him how I could help him. He said he was fine. I even told him if he was interested, I could help him secure some loans... He looked at me and smiled.

He told me he would invite me over soon to his place. His old car came for him. I was grateful to God for what I had. *“Fingers are not all equal”,* I thought to myself...I was lucky. I worked in a good place.

Two weeks later, we went to see him in a remote, my wife and I.
She was reluctant to go because she was not impressed with the man's status as to warrant our visiting him in his house.
I was able to convince her that we were close friends in college.
We saw the Estate. We asked for directions to his home. Those leading us spoke his name with deference.
It was a simple but lovely home. A 4 bedroom bungalow. I saw 4 cars parked in front. We entered his home. It was simply elegant with a touch of class inside. He welcomed us warmly.

Lunch was well served.
His wife called him Papa Onos!!!

During lunch, he asked about my MD. He said they were friends. I saw a company gift on one of his tables nearby. That company owned about 38% shares where I worked. I enquired from him about it. He smiled. *He told me he owned the company.* He also owned the estate.

_I did not know when I called him sir... I was in awe of him too._

I had learnt a lesson in humility, A big one. *Appearances are deceptive.* He noticed my discomfort.

Driving back home, I was very quiet. My wife was humbled and extremely calm. I could perceive the thoughts in her mind. I looked at myself. Living on loans, heavy loans and showing off while someone who pays my salary is quite modest and living a simple life!

Indeed *Deeper Rivers Flow In Majestic Silence*!
Adjust your perception towards others this coming year.
*Read, learn and take a good step of change*
*Lesson*
Stop rating people based on physical appearance. Happy New year .
