You're a bitter woman. Your husband must be suffering emotionally... don't tell me he's a rare specie drop from heaven
Madam you're the one who sounds bitter. The lady said the truth. If the man can no longer provide financially, he should at least ensure he relives his wife of some Street by taking up house chores.

The primary role for the man is to be the breadwinner while the woman is the caretaker.
If for any reason he can't provide what's wrong with taking care of his FAMILY and household?

Are you telling me you didn't see the part where he financed her entire post graduate education?

The wife was jobless up untill recently so you dont need to ask him to give details of what he did since it is obvious he did everything!
My point is I just disagree when I spouse paints his or herself like an innocent victim and there other half like a wicked witch.
I'm sure we'll get a different story if we hear from the wife.

No matter how bad apc does the core north will always vote them. Because they see pdp now as a igbo regional party.

The north always votes on tribal and religious lines. I'm not surprised.

Thaaaaaaaaank you!!!! They keep on quoting gender equality but that shît cannot work in Nigeria! Never!
My dear I'm all for gender equality which is equal opportunities for all irrespective of gender.
This has nothing to do with marriage but societies perception about women general.

Even if they want to bring gender equality into marriage, I each party would still have to play there own respective roles.
For the man it's being the breadwinner.
For the woman it's being the caretaker.
These roles never really change.

How were you guys able to bridge the age gap thingy?
Honestly there's no gap to bridge... I don't even notice it.
W3 both love and respect each other. No secrets and there's trust.
It's a good marriage. I wouldn't jeopardise it for anything.

This mentality of whose responsibility is to provide and to care for the kids is definitely the root of this man's problem. This is 2017 and not 1995, financial responsibilities of the home should be the responsibility on both the Father and Mother of the house likewise the care of the home and kids. Gone are the days when Mother stays home or earn very little income. Nowadays, Male and Female are fully a workforce and their earns varies slightly.
There's not wrong in Mummy dropping her salary for upkeep of the home likewise their nothing wrong for Daddy to pickup the kids from school and prepare lunch or dinner for them while Mummy is at her duty post.
The earlier the society reset and update to this modern way of living the better for us all.
My brother leave this modern day talk. There are certain things that just don't change.
The man is the breadwinner while the woman is the caretaker.
You made it sound so fancy. Would u be OK with washing your wife and kids cloths going to market and cooking as a man?? While your wife is at work??
The reason most men earn more than women is because the woman cannot put in as much time and devotion to her job when she has a family to care for. Which is totally understandable.
That places the financial burden on the man. That of the wife is just extra.
I agree that when the man has financial difficulties the wife's should step in, however it's not her role. And most importantly, how well did the man care for his family when the going was good??
Was it clubbing flexing with side chics every now and then? Remember women don't forget stuff like that!

Your logic is based on sheer wickedness and thoughtlessness. What if the man falls sick and cannot work? What if he's in business and govt seizes his goods? In life anything can happen. What is the point of marriage vows made before God - ''For richer for poorer, in sickness and in health''?

Is that just another meaningless phrase done on a wedding day? If it is, then why bother saying it, and lying to God? Instead of lying before your maker, simply remove those words and state the truth, ie ''If he's rich we will be fine, but if he's not, I cannot stand him.'' Why lie?

Women need to understand that there is more to life than money. Love, commitment, honour, loyalty, selflessness MATTER, or we are little more than wild animals in the bush.
What if sickness makes it impossible for the woman to take care of the family home and kids?
I'm guessing a good man will fill the void right?
Is that what a good husband should do, yes.
Will it stain the marriage? Of course!

I NEVER mentioned money in my post, u did!
I just pointed out to the op the roles of parties in a marriage and the fact that his post about his wife seems untrue.
Why do men tend to paint themselves like innocent victims and the wife as the wicked witch?

When the going was good with the op HOW WELL DID HE TAKE CARE OF HIS FAMILY? that's what I want to hear.
FamilyRe: I Lost My Job, Now I Am Losing My Dignity At Home by YelloweWest: 7:14pm On Jul 02, 2017
Op I'll be honest with u.
It is a man's responsibility to provide for his family.
It is a woman's responsibility to take care of the home and kids.
Anything that alters this position will definitely bring friction in the home.

If you want your marriage to work u need to see things from your partner standpoint.
You said when u were working u took care of your family, however u didn't give any details of such care the way u detailed your wifes misbehaviour.

I seriously doubt ur story Mr.

I can't believe the trash I'm reading here. Age has little or nothing to do with maturity.

I met my husband at 17. We got married when I was 18.
He is 20+ years my senior.

We've been married for 13years now and I've never thought of cheating or "exploring" with another man. God forbid!

Why??
1. He treats me well: one of the first thing that made me fall for my hus was how he treats me like a queen. He loves me with every bone in his body.
2. I'm a God fearing Christian wife and mother.

With a combination of the two qualities above any woman despite age will be a good wife.

Get your facts right before commenting on something u entirely know nothing about
"In the XY sex-determination system, the female-provided ovum contributes an X chromosome and the male-provided sperm contributes either an X chromosome or a Y chromosome, resulting in female (XX) or male (XY) offspring, respectively. Hormone levels in the male parent affect the sex ratio of sperm in humans."
