1) You either use Waec or Neco
..grades does not matter. They just want to be sure you have the certificate.

2) ofcourse 448 is good enough to earn ITA

DeltaSigma:
For someone who used 2 sittings results for University entrance...do I need to evaluate both with WES, NECO and WAEC?

Secondly, 448 point good enough to earn an ITA?

@ bolded....LMAO....at the end..'what do you have for us..oga na weekend we dey' angry....I ll miss the drama in this country sha ooo

Topsmamen:
Apt! So it's best to adopt the "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" idiom in the post-AOR stage of this journey. Best, being a speedy PPR smiley and worst, being a delayed PPR sad. That way, disappointment will not be in your space. Speaking on cultural shock, I read somewhere that “sorry” is Canada’s most important word. Throw enough “sorry”s at any situation and everything will be fine. Lol.

"Officer, i'm so sorry, i didn't know that this road is a one-way. Oh! You didn't know? Oga! I say park and come down now!".

Oh my Naija! grin grin grin

What this Canny parole will do to someone...we've decided not to put our 2yr 4months old child in school yet and even praying the other one won't go back when the new session starts in September...And we're just pre- IELTS oooo. LOL grin

God help us all smiley

pejuhazel:
This speaks to me, I'm just a little three months post AOR and I am super restless. Especially after finding out that VO is Accra, I set a timeline for myself and it's a battle to keep my mind busy and not worry about my application. I guess this a form of lesson for someone as impatient as I am.
God help us all but it will pain if I have to pay next term school fees.

kentoski:
Please can you explain this better, i think I'm in a similar position....can only one reference letter from one of those employers suffice in this case, even when one is claiming points for 3yrs+?
For example,
Scenario 1: if in ABC company I worked there for 3 years as a clerk and i am claiming points for it to boost my CRS score, I must get reference letter from ABC company.

Scenario 2: if in ABC company I worked there as a clerk for 1 year and in XYZ company I worked there for 2 years as an adnin assistant year. And I am combining jobs from ABC abd XYZ Company (3years) to boost my CRS score, then I must get reference letter from both ABC abd XYZ Company.

Do you gethuh? Hope am right shahuh Newbie ooo*eyes covered*

Update on Ielts journey- first attempt

I posted about my ielts exam experience using the computer delivered format on Tuesday 12th March. My result was delivered via ups courier on friday 21st March.
Listening 8.5
Reading 8.5
Writing 7
Speaking 7.5
British Council
Resources- ieltsonlinetests (reading and listening), ieltspracticepteonline(reading and listening), ieltsliz, ieltsbuddy, ieltsjay for tutorials. Writing task1-chris Pell task 2- Amanda Lynn YouTube.
Finally, I give all glory to God. I practised and studied like my life depended on it to the point, I collapsed and was rushed to hospital as I wasn't eating or sleeping well. Studying on empty stomach plus anxiety attacks.
I started practising from October till the exam even.
Thanks nairalanders. Your the best.
Waiting for my evaluation as unilag is yet to send my transcript to Ices.
Prayer is key as well as hard work.

Amen....it is well. please do not tire ooo. its going to be a happy ending. patience and prayer is the key.

AdetonaDami:
UI does not even have any plan on releasing MSc result anytime soon talkless of saying I want to have my ECA done, only God knows when this wait will be over. This journey is really not for the weak, getting depressed and getting tiring to me as a single applicant.

Thought I could wait but I think I need to find a job just to keep myself busy, another thing is to find a job in this country. I just tire scatter

For everyone on this journey, may God give us the strength to endure and speed processing.
Congrats to all the clinchers in every step cos each step nah story.

If you want to remark..MOD is 46k while BC is 15k...Aside that no other difference.

Some have said that BC examiners are not usually friendly during the speaking test unlike MOD...i cannot ascertain this as a fact.

Jafman:
Good morning canadians, please what is the difference IELTS MOD and BC? The only difference I know is that one is 68k and the other is 75k. Please what other things differentiate them. Thank you

I understand how you feel bro/sis. I felt the same way after my third IELTS. Infact, I said me am not doing again ooo but when hubby told me that so i want to leave the kids in this Godforsaken country..my brain reset. The truth is nothing good comes easy and you ll not appreciate what you have if you dont struggle to get it. This opportunity is too good to miss, so just think about the kids. This is for them and not you. So see it as an expensive investment that is worth it and when you start enjoying all the goodies...IELTS will become a story. Please dont give up...contact my oga @wasseynewest. He is the best in this field. We will testify.

Dieumerci:
Congratulations to everyone who has crossed any of the hurdles in this journey.

Please I need some motivation so I don't place a 'full stop' where the Almighty has put a 'comma'.

Mehn...I'm tired but must not give up as my children are not meant for this naija.

Initially Listening..later got it. Then reading but my oga @wasseynewest has been the best tutor. May God bless him for his selflessness.

Natalie27:
you are most definitely welcome .. I know how much I was encouraged by others who’s shared their story .. don’t give up .. I have a colleague that wrote 7times .. problem listening .. I told him about ieltsonlinetest, the 6th one he finally made his listening but not writing which he never had an issue with. He gave up .. we (his wife and I) encouraged that he did it one more time and he got it and has gotten ITA since December and he’s just waiting for the golden mail

What part of the test are you struggling with ?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by yemblaze(f): 11:52pm On Mar 17, 2019
Thanks for sharing sis...so encouraging. I hope to share my IELTS success story too very soon as I am preparing for the test for the 5th time...hmmm. Never giving up...thats the spirit.

Natalie27:
hello everyone , I just thought to drop this here to encourage anyone going through the IELTS hurdle.
I wrote the exam for the first time in July 2018,I was really confident about it
,*after all if i had studied french ? Writing and speaking for 4years and even done my dissertation and défense en français what could be so hard about this English exam .. Plus I had written TOEFL before and aced it.. little did I know IELTS was listening to all my mind bragging..

First result LSWR. 9,8,6,7.5 I saw this result at about 12.57am and cried myself to sleep .. I requested for a remark and it was upgraded to 6.5.

I got another opportunity to write in October (because of my work schedule , it is sort of hard to get weekends off). This time I even bought ielts liz videos .. results LSWR .. 8.5,7.5,6.5,7.5

I asked for remark again but it came out negative ..

January I was ready.., this was a new year.. new grace and new everything . I decided to try a new environment . I was fasting for the new year and asking St Joseph to intercede .I decided to try something new MOD. Although the examiners are not as organised as BC i found the environment more suiting because the exam takers were fewer than what you would have in a BC venue. It was a school in lekki and it was such a peaceful environment ... Moreover I had used ielts advantage to prepare and I understood better what was expected of me .. for every essay structure I knew what every sentence should contain, however When i saw my results I was devastated ..

LSWR 8,7.5,7,6.5

I did not give up because I had my eyes on the prize and I knew the next one was definitely the last .. so I wrote again March 2nd ... ladies and gentlemen results are........

LSWR : 9,7,7.5,75

I was elated when I saw this ... my family and close friends called as if l had told them I had gotten the golden mail..

Moral of this is that we should never give up instead research and find it what works for you .. for me I used ieltsonlinetest to practice reading and listening and according to glittering star did not find the real exam so daunting .. i never practiced speaking .. In fact I was expecting less because I almost missed this last speaking (story for another day) then for writing I practiced with the real answer script so during the main exams I could tell when I had reached 150 or 250 without even counting .. Plus i focused on knowing the structures of every way type and reading different sample types .. I could say I wrote just 3 essays while practicing ..

Thank you e fam... I am a silent reader but you guys here are amazing .... May all our heart desires come through .

Lmao!!! Your comment killed me grin grin grin

Ifeoma's shoes are too big for me to fill in. She is exceptional. We still have you here na, our great URL linker grin But I will try my best, and encourage others to be selfless too.

Also let me confess o, considering some of the PM requests I got, I am only pre-ITA o, still a junior but oversabi and over-reading go kill me grin Even when Prof Ralph asked smslive for his script, I was just laughing, like how come? Dude was among the second generation PPR clinchers on this thread in the days of 40manlappy, newmum, cochtrane etc, read all their stories grin

Anyways ECA arrived last week, missed ITA by 2 days, but fingers crossed for next week, CRS in its 450s+, no shaking, all docs ready except medicals. I will be here for a long time. And seriously praying the cut-off this wednesday will be in its 430s to 440s so ITA will rain on many. Let's keep being positive, dreaming, answering, working and hoping. Canada PPR must happen for everybody.
