TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Yeside20: 9:31am On Nov 03, 2021
Hello guys, my sister got admission to a Canadian school. She is married with two kids (3yrs old & 1 yr old).

Can she apply for visa for all of them or she should just take the 1 yr old.

Thanks in advance

I didn't finish from Unilag, but the recipient for my transcript was my boss. It read "The Manager, Mr Ademola....ABC Limited. Lagos, Nigeria.

ddoc100:
Good afternoon house, May all our efforts yield success in Jesus name.
I heard there is a way for those who graduated from Unilag to get their official transcripts in their hand.
Either by using a company to collect it or something. Please anyone who has knowledge about it or has done it before should please chat me up.
Thanks.

The work permit and Family re-unification is another category of long term visa. They are just stating clearly that those applying for that category (work permit and Family re-unification) should not apply through the student long stay visa.
obianorafael:
Does this mean Nigerian students will no longer be allowed to work in Germany?
Has anybody gotten a visa lately under these conditions?
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Yeside20: 11:21am On Jun 28, 2019
The CBN has 6 different FX windows and each have different FX rate. Dangote as a business man will use a separate window from the one students will use. And banks borrowing from each other will also use a separate rate. The 6 windows are:

1. Interbank - banks borrowing from each other (in bulk o). And this is known as the CBN official rate - N349
2. NAFEX - (Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange window)
3. NIFEX - (Nigerian Foreign Exchange window)
4. I & E window - (Investors and Exporters window)
5. SME window - (Small & Medium Scale Enterprise)
6 SMIS window - (Secondary market Intervention sales) and this is where Form A belongs.

The rate at which the CBN sell to banks in the SMIS window is usually close to that of the parallel market. And according to CBN rules, they are not allowed to make more than a certain percentage on the funds, I have forgotten the actual rate but i think they can't mark up more than 200bps (2%) and because of the tight competition within the banks, they can't even maximize the whole 2% sef.

So it's not as if the banks are ripping us off, it's the fact that in Nigeria we have multiple exchange rates. Often times, it is cheaper and easier to buy from the parallel market, and that's where i bought mine before coming.

The only advantage of buying from the banks these days is the fact that you are guaranteed that it's not "fake money" and that you are buying from real source as some banks don't allow you invest the money if it's gotten from the "black market".

I hope this helps.

NB - I am not a staff of Zenith Bank

NelsonOBN:
All these banks are playing us. They'll use our document to collect official rate from CBN and they'll resell it to us at their own rate..

403 is parallel MKT price
349 is CBN rate (though fluctuate with fractions)
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Yeside20: 11:22pm On May 08, 2019
I believe it should be A.

All applicants who fulfill one of the following criteria can register with the “A - list”:

1. holding a TestAS certificate with a standard score of 100 - 130
2. holding a very good B-1 language certificate from the Goethe Institute (90 points and more) or
3. holding a good B-2 language certificate from the Goethe Institute (80 points or more) or
4. holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class - 2. Lower Class and being accepted for a master's degree (also a DSH course-related admission to the master's program) or PhD study in Germany or
5. holding a scholarship from a German institution for a study or a PhD in Germany or
6. holding a signed “Aufnahmevereinbarung” / hosting agreement concerning your research fellowship with a university or research institute accepted by the “BAMF”

You only have to fulfill one of these requirements and No. 4 applies

dolpaz:
At times, the embassy act unprofessional with student's visa application. I have seen several scenarios where the embassy forgot to send the application to the applicant's Alien office. It was after direct contact with the Auslanderbehorde that we got to know that Lagos was yet to forward the student's application.

Which city are you heading to..?

Perhaps, I could help out with the email and you take it up from there.

Please, don't fold your hands/arms to watch these guys delay you unnecessarily.

You shall testify at the end.

All the best !

Hi guys,

I did my interview Dec 28 and I am yet to get AM. This is the 7th week now. I have emailed the embassy 3 times- no response, called the foreign office in my city and they referred me to the embassy. I used blocked account and funded before my interview. Pls who has any idea of what might be happening??

It's frustrating
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by Yeside20: 10:31pm On Jan 31, 2019
Early Dec..., they got back to one in a little over 3 weeks and the other after 5 weeks
Jeschi101:
please when did they go for their interview?
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by Yeside20: 10:32pm On Jan 30, 2019
Congrats.

It takes about 4-6 weeks to hear back from the embassy, could be less if you have scholarship.

This happened to me for the last winter admission, my school said they cannot interfere in the process neither can they grant an extension. I had to forfeit the admission.

But from what I have read on this page you can reach out to your school and ask that they give you an extension. Ask for one month extension and pesent that as an additional document during your interview.

All the best

quote author=Bastelbastel post=75268688]Good evening everybody. I am new here.
Thanks for making this platform worth visiting. I have gotten a lot of information here that have really helped me.

I secured admission to study Micro and Nano Technology for the summer semester in Munich. So yesterday night I sent a letter to the embassy to book appointment for visa and I got a response this afternoon.

My schools resumes on the 15.03.2019 but my appointment is scheduled for 28.02.2019. Now my questions are there;

How long does it take to get a response from the embassy after the interview?

can my school influence it so that I can get an appointment for an earlier date so I can meet up with the resumption date?
has anyone here such an experience before? Please i would like to know.

I will appreciate every response given here. thanks[/quote]

Got admission into Hochschule Kaiserslautern, campus is in Zweibrucken. Google doesn't even have anything to say about the Zweibrucken city. I love small cities, but this just seems too small with no info to even arm myself with concerning student jobs or accomodation. Looking for someone with any info on the city pls.

TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by Yeside20: 3:27am On Jan 03, 2019
Yes o.

I registered late for the winter semester. After I received my admission letter, I couldn't get an interview date and the school refused to give an extension. I even emailed the embassy with my admission letter and the rest and i was told there was no date available.

But you can still try. Everyone's story is different and you never can tell.
Ndkings1:
Sir, are you saying that we that are still waiting for summer admission will encounter problems with visa and other stuff if we eventually gain it between now and March?
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by Yeside20: 3:21am On Jan 03, 2019
I collected the Euro in cash and deposited it into the dorm account myself. The mallam sef no gree to transfer.

Bought mine N413.

Dannyozs:
My people, happy new year! Please those that successfully funded there blocked account, this is the step u took; open a domiciliary account- buy euro from money changer by going to the bank with the person then transfer from the domiciliary to your sutor bank. My question is how do u convince the changer to make the transfer to your account before collecting the naira equivalent? Also how much did u buy euro per naira ?(I know the rate is not stable, just asking).
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by Yeside20: 2:49pm On Jan 02, 2019

TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by Yeside20: 5:40pm On Jan 01, 2019
For most schools, application deadline is 15th Jan. But check the deadline for the school you want to apply to. Get all your documents ready and send using any top courier service, they deliver in 3 working days.

As for the proficiency letter, I sent mine to a friend's office and collected it.

Soothing:
Good job here guys.
Please can I still meet up with summer admission ?
Also in demostrating English proficiency using letter from my undergraduate University, is the letter going be addressed to d institution or to uniassit direct? Because I planned to apply to 2-3 schools through uniassit.
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by Yeside20: 4:11pm On Jan 01, 2019
The dorm account can be anyone's. it's just like a normal transfer.

If you have been using the bureau operator for other FX transactions, you can take the risk. in 2-3 days, you will get confirmation for your transaction from the German bank
kendoschurrle:
Please one question.. Must the dorm account be in your name? Is it possible to pay a bureau operator for them to transfer the blocked amount on your behalf?
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by Yeside20: 1:33pm On Dec 31, 2018
Almost the same with the parallel market rate joor, difference is like 1 Eur

If you can, open a Eur dorm account and buy Eur from aboki and transfer.
sagbar:
Please for funding with form A, what’s the exchange rate?
