Business › Re: Ghana's Economy Is The Fastest Growing In The World - Economy Watch by Yeske2(m): 5:20pm On Feb 20, 2012 |
It's all down to oil exploration and export so it is expected as Ghana only recently discovered and exporting oil, no big deal. The major contributor to Ghana's growth is oil which would taper out when investment in oil exploration gets to full capacity. Naija's growth is driven mainly by the non-oil sector. |

IMHO, i think he deserves it and this would give him the national recognition that goes with such, that is if MASSOB would still be made to play its role. He was and still remains the grand commander of Biafra. |

Politics › Re: South East Gets Lowest Allocations Compared With to the North, Why? by Yeske2(m): 9:21am On Feb 17, 2012 |
Onlytruth: Okay I have to say this at this time.
I personally believe that SE should focus more on effectively utilizing whatever allocations are coming in now because there is no proof that more allocation =more development of infrastructure. I would use Anambra as an example. The state gets an allocation of about $455m annually. I have not added internally generated revenue. Total state income could be anywhere around $500m (for example). I personally witnessed what Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige was able to do with this money. Without exargerating, the state could have become completely networked with modern roads in about a period of 8 years. That is why it pains me that Peter Obi is not putting the debate beyond reach.
Gov Rochas Okorocha is attempting some of my expectations of what is possible with CURRENT allocations. Imo does not receive much different from what Anambra receives. FACT.
So, let the debate continue. Most sensible post on this thread, what developments have we seen in the so called 'high allocation' states? Our major problem is corruption and not until it is rooted out, we would still remain where we are. |
