Africans are very funny people. I'm sure a Patrick Sawyer must have been in that ward held against his wish. We are very backward people who can't even think to save our lives. Imagine gun men raiding an Ebola ward. Of all places to raid, its an Ebola ward. The gun men can't even consider how much their lives are worth?

If extremist will bomb himself and several others, all in the name of pleasing (god), don't you think attacking an isolated ward is another strategic move of killing more people?

NOTE: I didn't say Islamic extremist

I did not use pay.gov to pay.it was the email sent to me(2) two mail.one was pay.gov which confirmation of payment and agencies tracking id. and elisdonot reply. I pay through elis uscis my fear is whether I ve not paid to a wrong a/c.
cos the my case status -accepted/pending review.

You got nothing to worry about if you can log into your USCIS.gov account, you can not pay into wrong acc using that site, make sure you print the payment notification. That if i receive 2 mail? i can't confirm that now since i can't log-in my yahoo email for now, i'm ask to provide my alternate e-mail of which i can't remember.

Bro, on which site did you get those details from? www.pay.gov or www.USCIS.gov, if it's from USCIS.gov then i think your mind should be at rest. The mail you receive from pay.gov is there a link that direct you to USCIS site?

House please, have any one paid his/her USCIS fees using www.pay.gov? pls your contribution is needed here.

3.We actually registered on Monday the 21st and we use our new address though the queue was very long.

4.Did you receive any 2 mail after paying- pay.gov and another ,were you able to check your status before you receive your SSN cos till now is say application pending.

yes bro, i receive confirmation of payment which i printed still with me. i have not visit the site since i arrive.

Wow,pls did you apply for the SSN after the shortdown or before.I arrive US on 27th sept and I ve been trying to access our a/c on elis for USCIS immigrant fee we paid before leaving Nigeria. It give accepted/application pending. And I tried calling USCIS they told me our receipt no. shows that our case could not be found. I am worried though,we applied for our SSN on 21st monday after the short down we were suppose go to Georgia and we re Minnesota instead they ve nt seen our green card in georga. today is our 30th day in america
Hi bro, i applied for my SSN a day after short-down, 18th Oct and it was delivered 25th Oct. it seems processing is very fast here in MD. i could remember some fellow Marylanders got theirs in 3 working days.

I also paid the USCIS fee in Nigeria, i got my GC without any contact with USCIS same day i got my SSN.

1. Did you change your address at your POE? it seems majority of those changes are not effected.
2. How reliable are the fellow at Georgia?
3. When you register for SSN at Minnesota hope you use your current address?

Perhaps either of this question could be a factor, however processing differs in state to state this also could be a factor. You need not to worry it is their duty to get it across to you just be a little patient.

When you say BUSY now i understand, cos my host is a living example. now i see reason why someone like adesojiaderemi should be commended for always making out time to make contributions here. bro life is pretty good here just that i don't like the idea of sitting down at home doing noting, no thanks to government shutdown, except for weekend when myself and my host go outing. the internet has been a good friend.

Oh! i was referring to a thread where a debate is conducted about the USA. The thread is thought provoking, making you want to spit fire (not every thing discussed will be pleasing to you), however if you are patient enough to read through maybe you will at least learn ONE thing. it up to you though undecided

Nice pics, but the America I saw from Chicago airport to mineapolise -st paul was more beautiful, better and organised than the VI,parkview, lekki 1&2, and Akute I ve lived and Work for the better part of my life. Though it may be becos am new here.I was told crime rate is high in america but people are surviving.no agbero, lastma, kai, conductors, boko haram and area boys that threaten from work to home daily.
The fact is many immigrant here are negative about the system including one my closest bros with two cars, his three month earning his more than my annual salary plus bonus and allowance. The complain of paying bills is just everywhere.
Since I came here food, clothing and the basic necessity of life have not been far fetched.Let just pray that the system will work and be favourable to us and our family.
Faith Works Wonders.¶™

True bro, where i stay in MD is much more beautiful than anywhere in Lagos and Abuja put together. life here is pretty good and it has no comparison in anyway whatsoever with what is obtainable in Naija. Am loving this country big time but then, there is a MORAL LESSON for every immigrant, that was why i advised NOT to "TAKE SIDE" until you are through reading ALL pages. just be neutral you will be glad you did.

First of all, go and apply for state I'd once you ger ur SSN and GC, as for your driver licence, you can start dat too but you will have to get a learners permit since you re not with ur naija licence thereafter you have to wait 4 45days if u re above 25yrs in age and also will go to a driving school before you can get ur licence. Whre in MD are you?

Thanks a bunch, campus way south upper malboro. I'll arrive MD next week by HIS grace. you stay close by?

@ YessWeCan,
UWC
1. If u book a six months return ticket u must av a return date within that 6months on the ticket, which u can change to any date within that 6months at a cost of about 150 to 200USD not sure again. I do not believe that ASU strike will be up to or over 6months.
2. NASU strike or not u can go to ur university with someone reliable to put everything in motion for ur transcript n the person follows up when u are gone n NASU calls of their strike ensuring he gets ur transcript posted to the organisation evaluating it or getting it to u.
Good luck with ur decision
Good enough bro i do appreciate, i also learnt i could leave the return open within this period, this way i'll avoid the extra charge resulting from changed date. this is interesting!!
Travel / Re: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by YessWeeCan(m): 1:48pm On Sep 16, 2013
@candytos, thanks for your concern. here are my questions.
1. Should the strike persist can i get a refund?
2. In my case both ASUU and NASU are on strike, what is the possibility of processing a transcript?
Travel / Re: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by YessWeeCan(m): 12:37pm On Sep 16, 2013
baba ajala: gudday great forumites
pls i need your advise on how to go about this: i won the dv2013 lottery and have gotten my visa already. presently am in my final year and ASUU is not having any intention of calling off thier strike.

and instead of deferring my admission here in 9ja and later come back, i want to collect my transcript from my school and continue my education in u.s. pls i need your advise on how to go about this and what is the process i should take
your advice is appreciatef
My brother... this state of dilemma is killing, as if ASUU strike is not enough, in my school NASU is also on strike.
