HeatSeeker:That is if you also have free transport or you drive a very small distance to work. Only fuel and vehicle maintenance don carry 300k or more a month. Meanwhile, food costs more than these things. |
It will turn black. |
Buhari was nepotistic. Under his regime, retirees were brought back to head Customs, NTA, DSS, etc. Under his watch, public servants reached retirement and continued working. Under Buhari, Prof Yusuf was severally recommended for suspension by the governing board of NHIS for misconduct and reinstated. Over and over. Meanwhile, the NHIS is a sinking fund, just like PENCOM and NSITF. They are meant to stockpile funds for the future. The heinous nature of embezzlement Yusuf perpetrated was to squander away funds meant to secure the future. Nobody should embezzle pension funds because the future of pensioners is what is being jeopardised. The huge funds in the NHIS coffers were not kept there for operational purposes. These were social security nets. By signing those funds away, it shows our system is still weak. Prof Yusuf has to be made an example of, or else the nation is not serious about returning to viability. That's the real deal, not this hysteria which fails to hit the mark. |
femisplash:Their brothers and cousins are more important to them than the nation Nigeria. They shall fall, they shall fail! |
xpressionx:That goes without saying. Terrorists in the north were renamed bandits. Lack of intelligence made them to turn their own territory uninhabitable in the bid to wrestle power away from everyone else. They brought home the proverbial ant infested log of wood. Now lizards have taken over the homestead. |
Just to remind the fellow who made reference to the handwriting on the well in Belshazzar's reign: the handwriting was NOT in the king's favour o. Ironic that you chose that instance to buttress your point. The handwriting is a reminder that the Divine hand is the final arbiter. Calm down... |
blowjohn:I wonder... it seems his juju man has started seeing Presidency visions for him (not for free, of course. Man must wack). |
If you never slept with her, you won't be presented with a baby. It wouldn't matter if she was known to sleep around. Understand: discipline and self control is key 🔑 to living a meaningful life. The idea of being attracted to "bad" girls but wanting to get married to a "good" girl is at the foundation of living a life full of regrets. Habits die hard. Build good habits. QED. |
They can, but should they? No. |
For the guy spitting because Wike is commissioning 5km roads, give Wike his flowers abeg. In the twilight months of Buhari's 8 years in power, a committee was set up in the FCTA to bring up completed projects that could be commissioned to spruce up the outgoing administration's record. This was Mohammed Musa Bello, a man who dutifully returned unspent budgetary allocation every year and received a 10% commission, now looking for projects to commission, when he never initiated any! Give Wike his flowers! |
For the guy who said terrorism is PDP's legacy, we have many people who were alive as Ali Modu Sheriff founded boko haram and terror was used to fight Obasanjo and Jonathan. El rufai and Buhari played very significant roles in the past 9 years to, as they hoped, completely overrun Nigeria with fulanis taking over and renaming towns in Plateau state. We saw children ripped out of the wombs of their mothers and kidnappers and massacres who operated at will and were never caught. It doesn't even matter: ALL WHO PLAYED ANY PART IN THE BLOODSHED WILL REAP GENERATIONS OF DIVINE JUDGMENT AND RETRIBUTION, IN JESUS NAME! |
The dignity of having a roof over your head is inexplicably exhilarating. Just pray you don't have to be without an accommodation. If you have ever struggled, you won't turn your nose up at people's struggles. |
It's a good thing Wike brought a breath of fresh air to the "arewanised" FCTA. Apart from the fact that the northern demigods who have held the fort ar that ministry were doing nothing, the power centres were balanced by northern nepotism. Today each geopolitical zone is privileged to have a Permanent Secretary. Welfare of staff under Wike is improving. The best since APC descended like a dark shadow. If he is making noise, he should be encouraged. He has broken records in such a short time. |
The fellow who named Ohaneze as a terrorist group: these are the elements that are responsible for the retrogression of Nigeria. Their mentality is what gave birth to Maitatsine, ansaru, boko haram, lakurawa and all their cousins since way before Nigeria got independence. It's all they have to offer. |
Judolisco:That is it. |
Nothing dey there na... |
The lady was honest enough to stay and draw the attention of the hotel staff. Arresting the witness is the only thing Nigeria police know. If she had run away, she would be a suspect. The hospital is supposed to run a toxicology screening and an autopsy. At least let us know what chemicals they found in his blood and a probable cause of death. These things happen even at home. Safe to say that the lady has begun 2025 in an unfortunate manner. Kai. |
Many of these influential Nigerians do the same thing. They never service their loans. They divert the proceeds of the businesses, live large and basically ignore the banks. In the north, this is far more widespread. Present day Unity Bank is a victim of the propensity of the northern millionaires to refuse paying their loans. |
Leobankx:You are correct, and I know this because I am an insider in the iron and steel sector. That obsolete complex in Ajaaokuta should be used to run other subsidiary industries. The blast furnace is outdated. Fatally so. The thermal power plant and the rolling mill can be repurposed. The staff accommodation can be donated to Kogi State government, or whatever the government decides. The general area can be developed into an industrial park like we have in China, focusing on steel fabrication, machining of automotive components and the acquisition of skills in metalworking, foundry etc to edge Nigeria forward in the quest for development. |
Even a government employee should thank their boss for things like this. |
Lithiumite:The truth is what you have said. Even if I try very hard, I often go weeks without touching a naira note. The convenience of having cash is only offset by having flawless network for online transactions. We don't have that yet. Not by a long shot. Meanwhile, controls are not being exercised on the banks to keep cash away from criminal elements. A significant example is where medical emergencies occur and the online transactions fail. There should be some flexibility. I believe we are on the right track, though. Cashless has come to stay. It must. |
Lithiumite:I agree in totality, but 50k is too small. It can't fill my Camry muscle tank. For the sake of petty cash transactions, 500k is a better benchmark. |
The grid is compromised by substandard illegal connections. If the unwholesome practice of making customers pay for meters was discontinued and metering households became automatic ( as everywhere else), we would start along the journey to stability. As long as illegal connections remains the order of the day (stuff like an electric welder just hanging wires on a high tension wire at will to draw industrial grade voltage from a residential connection), the way home is not in sight. |
The border policy of Buhari was a jihadist ploy. The constriction of the southern economy plus the influx of imported murderers from the Sahel to deal a decisive blow on whatever nationhood the non Muslim, non fulani part of the country thought we had. The national assembly was to pass laws giving all our water to the fulani and 5,000 hectares of land in every local government as well. The plan was genocide, in short. SADLY, IF THEY HAD ACHIEVED ALL THIS, THEY WOULD HAVE STILL FAILED. THEY LACK PRUDENT MANAGEMENT (AND DON'T EVEN RAISE THEIR CHILDREN WELL). |
Leobankx:I am not a Catholic, but you have to give them their flowers if the issue of education comes up. I attended both primary and secondary school in excellent Catholic schools in Benue state. They know what they are doing, and they are amazingly good at it. |
For the person who said child trafficking in the southeast is a cultural thing, well done. When the northerners transport hundreds of their people in the trucks used to carry cattle from the north to every other part of the country, WHAT IS THAT CALLED? NO ONE NEEDS TO TRAFFICK NORTHERN CHILDREN. THEY DO IT THEMSELVES. JUST CONTINUE WITH THE HATRED AGAINST THE IBOS. BY THE WAY, I AM NOT IBO. |
The average single mother of multiple children doesn't even want children from you. Mr adventurer, ask her if she is willing to bear kids for you o. That is how one guy married a single mother of 3 and she told him point blank she wouldn't bear children for him. The church had to intervene and annul the marriage. Imagine being engaged as a male nanny for her children with no hope of kids of your own. Meanwhile be ready to share the "platform" with the ex...... A word is enough for the wise. |
For the guy who wrote a full page's worth trying to debunk the reality of the supernatural, YOU ARE WRONG O. THERE IS A TRUE GOD (YAHWEH) There is a devil. There are demons. YOU GET TO CHOOSE. YOU ARE NOT BOUND BY THE RELIGION OF YOUR BIRTH. PEOPLE LIKE PROPHET ISA EL BUBA WERE BORN INTO ANOTHER RELIGION. THE CHARACTERISTICS OF DEITIES EVERYWHERE ARE COMMON KNOWLEDGE. ONE SPEAKS LOVE, FORGIVENESS, SALVATION. ONE SPEAKS VIOLENCE. YOU GET TO CHOOSE. |
The guy saying reforms are necessary and making reference to China and Singapore, please outline for us the developments in terms of capacity building, especially manufacturing related, that Tinubu is putting in place for us to become like China and Singapore in the future. |
I sincerely believe Yar' adua should not have reversed the sale of the refineries. It was one among a series of government missteps that have left us far behind as a nation. Another was Occupy Nigeria ( led by Buhari & Tinubu). Jonathan should have been allowed to lift the subsidy on petroleum. We wouldn't have been saddled with the long overdue adjustments in 2025. |
tiger28:Kemi Badenoch is from middle belt? People are individuals. No group is homogenous. |
I am the privileged father of 3 children. I accept my children as gifts from God. I am good. We will not be doing any DNA tests in my house: we will only embark on such a venture for health purposes, and the outcome will not affect my children. They have me to be their father, and that is unconditional. I say so because I chose their mother, and any other consideration has arisen on account of my choice. In my case, I believe all the kids are mine and my wife has been scrupulously faithful (I married a 31 year old graduate and met her as a real virgin). Like I said, even if I had married a misbehaving girl and she ended up cheating, I am the one who chose. It's not really important to go poking about in the ashes. Let's all stop this wild goose chase and move on to more important stuff. Most men cheat. Boldly and proudly. It's an African thing, almost an expectation. The women forgive. A man who knew he was jostling to win a woman's hand in the midst of one or more suitors, what did he expect? If she had an ex, what did he expect? Shior.... |
