Whao! I went to the VAC like i said i will and i was disappointed oo.i was refused based on the fact that the tax clearance i submitted was fake.

Abeg make U help me ask the ECO guy how was to know that the tax clearance that was got from the Federal Inland Revenue Service is fake oo.i was told that they checked the file number and found out that it was fake.

Omo, this ppl na wa o! if it is not one thing it is another.I had paid abt 80% of myy fees and also accommodation only for this.Anyway,i dont know wat t o do next??wat do u guys say?

I was given right tto appeal but i dont think i would do that oo.i think i will reapply if i can get extension from the school get the 'original' tax clearance(if anything like that exists)or just get my money back from the school and invest it oo!!

Wat do u guys think??The only reason for the refusal was the 'fake' tax clearance.

Baby girl,i dey oo ,these hols is really getting to me oo,three good days na wa oo.

Whao! i feel ur pain I really dont blame the ECO guys if not for the rot in our own sysytem.What i this 'Big' issue everyone has with WEAC,it is always WEAC this,WEAC that,if it is not misspelling of names it is a problem with DOB.

Meanwhile,in developed countries it takes just a button on the computer, willing and motivated workers to do all the necessary rectifications.After four years??That is despicable!!!

  I understand how You feel. Its really a trial period 4 You. But I advice You to pray more than You worry. I even just got a refusal notice 4 my study visa application yesterday, despite the fact that I paid 9k out of 12,500. Well they said I submitted some photocopies of my sponsor's docs in a society where forgery is endemic.
Am repackaging it again shaa,  My belief is that  Every good thing comes from God! Therefore the hearts of those ECOs and ECMs are in God's hands! Pray without ceasing if You know that your hands are clean!  It is well bros! . Londoncool can only tell You the state of your application, but cannot influence anything with respect to the status of your application! These infos You strive to get will only increase your worries! jUST praaaaaaaaaaay more! Dont underestimate the the power of an earnest prayer!   Good luck dear!

i wonder which documents that were photocopied they complained about.Is it that photocopies shouldnt be used?Or should they be certified?

A cousin of mine wanted to go for the loan thing but stepped out when too many conditions were asked.he later got his sch fees paid by his dad(he sold his shares which was sold by his stock broker.The conditions werent really so bad sha.

it is well! i just submitted mine though,just last week thursday.i hope everything goes fine. i submitted right documents and no forged or false documents and i have paid 80% of my sch fees(tuition fees is 14000pounds for my course).

i just pray for the best for us all! If God says YES no man man can curse!

i think if u can still go tru the stress of getting documents etc u can go a head so as to apply atleast 2-3weeks for ur visa.Just consider all these;

1.Do u have to pay initial deposit at the school? if Yes,since your sponsor is not around can u do this urself?

2.How soon can u gather the necessary documents and supporting documents? if dis week fine.

3.How soon will your sponsor be able to get u his letter,bank statement etc? if within a week fine.

4.Have u mailed the school to tell them u have accepted their offer? if Yes,o.k if No,try to do that asap.

In short do all want u can before ur sponsor gets back by weekend so u can submit ur application fast.But dont be in so much haste so as not to miss out important documents.(remember the BHC guys look for reasons not to give visas than reasons to-said by a nairalander on this thread)

I ave noticed that 90% of the success stories we have on the UK student visa entails full payment of sch fees.Is that a criteria/or a hidden one by the Embassy to use to screen student visas??

A friend of mine also got admission to a sch in UK too.she just wants to pay her sch fees on Monday.but the sch starts by 29th of Sep. she would have to wait to get her unconditional letter,receipt etc after the payment,but looking at the timing and considering the fact that she has to apply for visa and all.

Is it advisable for her to till continue with the stuff or for her to defer till next year.

NB: she was given scholarship for part of her fees

I just went through some post 2dy where some applicants had similar experience so i just got a bit consoled. There was a case i read that took up to 12weeks but mine is still 7weeks and, so make i mellow down jaree!

i feel u jo, e no be do or die affair.Especially for someone like me with a good job here in Naija.Abi jare,if not for our graduates that are being considered as half-baked and in my place of work if u dont have a Masters(esp a foreign one),u will sweat to be on top if not .

Please for someone who has made payments should one get the bank statement of the acct before payment or after payment?,putting it in mind that the balance after payment;full tuition & accommodation for a year(Msc) will be about 1m??

u just have to keep trying.Their site seems to be down for now,but keep trying oo .The earlier u get an appointment date, the better.i have a friend that applied on the 4th of August and got the next available date as 3rd of Sept.SO BE FAST.

Do you have any work experience in the Telecoms sector? What do you stand to gain from studying Telecommunications in the UK?

While you are at liberty to do what is referred to as SWITCHING, you must have shown an appreciable level of consistency with your career to give validity of reasons for wanting to switch. In the UK, there is what is called the Continuing Professional Development (CPD), that shows a consistency of your career path. With a background degree in Industrial Engineering, I would suppose, pursuing a Masters in any industrial related engineering sector should prove very convincing to the ECO.

However, I would be rather harsh on you here, as you seem not decided on knowing what you want to do, and you would rather seek that anonymous individuals should make-up your mind for you.

Thanks, i was actually more concerned by the ECO boys on the conditional stuff,i sent a mail to the school & they promised to send me the unconditional letter but that they just wanted me to know that i will be taking some modules than some of my colleagues.

i was not going to let anonymous ppl make decision for me,NEVER. i knew i could go for any of the two (I wanted Pet. Eng. all my life),but i was just concerned abt the conditions that was given for Petroleum Eng & the ECO boys.

I dont have experience in Telecoms but i have for Pet. Eng.

Deciding on the course you want is entirely up to you. Both areas (oil and gas; Telecomms) have great potentials in Nigeria but you have to buttress this point when applying. Forget those crap about career path, your reasons for doing a masters in telecomms could be because you recognise the enormous potential and growth opportunities in the telecomms sector and since your first degree is in a different field, you know doing a masters in telecoms will place you in good position to benefit from the growth in the sector (as simple as abc) and if you decide on Pet. Eng I guess the ECO wont have any qualms with that as well.
