Crime › Raipur Police Bust Inter-state Drug Network, Seven Arrested Including A Nigerian by Yibo(op): 9:15am On Oct 02, 2024 |
Raipur police on Tuesday busted an inter-state synthetic drugs network under the Nijaat campaign, which led to arrests of seven people, including a supplier from Nigeria. Cops have also seized a huge amount of drugs, including MDMA, from the accused. The anti-crime and cyber unit (ACCU) executed raids at various locations including Kasol and Manali in Himachal Pradesh, and Uttam Nagar in Delhi. These coordinated efforts aimed to trace and arrest all individuals involved in the drug supply chain, Raipur SSP Santosh Singh said. The operation began on Sept 23, when three suspects—Shubham Soni (alias Pablo Escobar), Abhishek Sahu, and Sonu Agrawal—were arrested in the state capital's Tikrapara area. Cops had seized four packets of hashish, 98 MDMA tablets, 65 grams of MDMA (cocaine), a pistol with a magazine, two smartphones, an electronic weighing scale, and various other items, valued at approximately Rs 16 lakh from them. Two days later, on Sept 25, supplier Aryan Thakre was also arrested after the police tracked his operations in Raipur. The arrests followed a detailed probe into the drug supply chain. Interrogations of arrested suspects revealed a wider network operating out of Himachal Pradesh and Delhi. A special team was then sent to northern India, leading to the arrest of a 24-year-old Amandeep Singh Chhabra and Ashok Yadav, 30, in Himachal Pradesh. Chhabra is a native of Raipur and Yadav hails from Mungeli district. The duo ran a hotel business in HP. Following the links provided by the arrested accused, cops traced a key accused in Delhi, who supplied drugs. After the raid, cops arrested him in Delhi's Uttam Nagar, confiscating a total of 124 grams MDMA from Innocent Olochukwu, a native of Nigeria, with an estimated value of Rs 25 lakh. They also seized a mobile phone used in the operation. Olochukwu, 33, a resident of Lagos State in Nigeria, has emerged as a central figure in this operation. His arrest marks a significant breakthrough in dismantling the MDMA supply chain in the region, police said. Olochukwu used to run a hookah pot bar, where the illegal drug marker received a boost, He also came in touch with Yadav and Amandeep here. The inter-state operation, which spanned around seven to eight days, revealed the drug supply chain network links from northern states to Chhattisgarh. All the accused were booked under sections of Narcotics Act and Arms Act. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/raipur/raipur-police-dismantles-major-inter-state-drug-network-arrests-seven-including-nigerian-supplier/amp_articleshow/113859731.cms

gidgiddy: Theres a lot of jokers in Nigeria. Kanubis no longer going through any criminal trial, he isnt even facing any charge, the appeal court has discharged and set him free
What the government is doing is appealing that judgment at the supreme court, which is now essentially a constitutional matter
However, three seasoned judges of the appeal court sat, and unanimously decreed that Nnamdi Kanu has no case to answer
If you read the reasons they gave for reaching the judgment, you will know that what the FG is doing at the Supreme court is a complete waste of time.
The supreme court will sit in September and release Kanu, its just a matter of time we no tell you😎😎😎😎 |

As Nigeria marks the 64th anniversary of independence, the Igbo socio-cultural and socio-political organisation, Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to use the joy associated with the celebration to grant a political pardon to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The organization made the appeal through its National Vice President, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, in an interview with journalists in Awka on Tuesday, to commemorate the day.
Okeke-Ogene reiterated that Kanu’s release would restore peace, enable the identification of those perpetuating violence, and ultimately put an end to the disturbing sit-at-home practice in the southeast region. According to him, “Our major demand in this year’s independence day celebration is for the President to use the joy associated with the day to grant a political pardon to one of our sons and the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, from DSS detention.”
“Ohaneze believes in Nigeria’s democracy, and we also strongly believe that the release of Nnamdi Kanu will restore total peace and unity for all Nigerians residing in Igbo land.”
“We also call on the southeast governors to sustain the security architecture and welfare of the people in the region.”
The National Vice President, while urging Tinubu to urgently do the needful to put a smile on the faces of millions of Nigerians amidst insecurity, hunger, and other socio-economic challenges, noted that the country is still developing at a snail’s pace. https://tribuneonlineng.com/nigeria64-ohanaeze-demands-political-pardon-for-nnamdi-kanu/

Omodua: Empty boasts!
How well is the polity with the Drug czar and certificate forger at the helm of affairs of Nigeria. It's not well with Nigeria because Nigeria is in the hands of well known criminal who graduated from Government college Lagos in 1970 before its establishment in 1974.
Besides, Nigerian resources has been appropriated by the certificate forger within short spell of his stolen presidency. Nothing is working that her citizens are leaving the country in droves to seek better lives.
And you are contended with such a character!
Never mind. when Igbo is ready to leave the marriage,no force of arms or cohesion by federal forces will prevent it.
Your verbose that Yoruba will decide when Igbo can have mantle of leadership of the country is mere childish postulations! 😊 Kanu will soon Kpai |
