Thanks for your response. I can not do any farm in the North without the option of irrigation.

I will like to have a farm in the North. Anywhere with water for irrigation will be nice.
Why please if I may ask?

The land looks like it does not have much weeds.

Will it not have been better to just plough it instead of applying herbicides to kill the weeds.

Is there water close by for irrigation and can one get up to 20 hectares to lease there
Yes there is no much weed but am trying to about manual weeding till the end and also I don't intend to plough, I will just make ridges and plant.
You can get 20 hectares but it's very competitive.
There is no water nearby

How much is one tone of Cowpea at the open market?
The price varies a lot, from 180k to 300k depending on the time of sell. Normally if you sell immediately after harvesting the price is lower.

Nice. Kano farmers are the best.

I was around the Tiga area some months ago. I was also at Kura. So impressive how water is managed.

I actually came for market research on cowpea. I ended up at Dawanau.

I am following your thread and would willingly buy up all your produce at harvest time if your price is good. You dont need to go to Dawanau to sell.

More grease to your work. I wish you success.

A few questions:
What variety are you planting?
Whats your expected yield per hectare?
How would you typically sell your harvest?
Am planting white medium maturity type
Expected yield is 1-2 ton per hectare depending on many factors
I haven't decided on how to sell yet

I know I have been an interesting figure on this thread. I have been very critical of many actions & inactions. I thought I was going to be filled with vile at this juncture but interestingly I am not. The decision to delay thusfar pushed me to reinvent myself and whilst waiting for the final mail from NLNG, I got offered a post-MBA role at one of the top 3 management consulting firms in the world. I will be turning down the NLNG offer, but please the ones who get in; develop some empathy and make sure the kinds of thinking that caused us pain is not done under your watch.
I truly love the company NLNG and it would have been a pleasure working with many of you guys. My path is chosen, all the best guys.
Well am still in the wait game but I truly respect your decision. It gives me joy that there is definitely life away from NLNG
