Good evening,

Please, is it a right conclusion that, Morrison was pump today, to 10% since a single deal traded the equity. Also, I noticed CAVERTON closing price of 1.75 sent by Morgan capital is less than its VWAP of 1.70 - overvalued?
Morrison wasn't pump! It was the normal trading, Cross Deal precisely..........even though it was a single deal all thru the trading day, in as much as it met the requirement for price mvmt, it was normal.

As for Caverton, it wasn't overvalued either.
VWAP, is the weighted average
Na Oga Meshpips, Osita or other ogas Sabi explain this better. smiley

Please 🙏 I have a question ...
* How can I know when (what times/dates in a year) companies listed on the NSE are to release their quarterly or yearly financial reports -
** ANS: Depends on each Company's Financial Year End (FYE)....majority however have December 31 as the FYE**

* Perhaps, there are no NSE stipulated time of the year listed company are to release their reports 3 or 4 times per year
** ANS: We have 4 quarters in a year.......Jan-Mar; Apr-Jun; Jul-Sep; Oct-Dec........each company is expected to release results 4X a year with one out of the 4 being the FYE report....there are rules guiding this.....Rule 7.4/7.5 or so; and we have rules guiding operations of NGX**

* Please, what is the rules of NSE & SEC, within a period of how many days pre or post fiscal quarters in a year must companies release their financial reports
** ANS: Amendments to rule 7.4
- UNAUDITED within 30days and AUDITED within 90 days
- AUDITED (without submission of UNAUDITED) within 60 days
- For inability to submit within stipulated days, notification must be sent earlier to NGX, failure of which may attract penalty/fines/Suspension as the case may be**

* Please, what is a fiscal quarter according to NSE (from when to when in a year):
** ANS: Periods of 3mths in a year.......4 fiscal quarters per annum ----Jan-Mar, Apr-June, July-Sep, Oct-Dec.

Why would ellah lakes restrict only insiders from trading during the period commencing 20th March till 24 hours after release of the information? Since trading continues on the floor (there was trading friday 22nd march) and remains open to the general public......
There are rules and regulations that guides every aspect of the operations of the NGX......as contained in the 2015 Rule Book of the NGX.

However, there were amendments to some of the rules in January 2018.
So, when going thru the Rulebook, also bear in mind that some amendments were made to some sections of the book.

In the case of Insider restrictions, kindly note that it applies to all listed Companies on NGX and in their closed period notifications, they always reference Rule 17:15 or 17.18 as the case may be.
You may do well to check out Rule 17 of the Rulebook.

When it comes to big caps illiquidity, Conoil is Baba.
Conoil can trap you for a month.
Any positive news Full-Bidd
Any negative news Full-Offer
Lol. It's a stock for long termers.
If you see a good trader in this, then the person must be sound in TA and must Target the mvmt period closely.

OBAGADAFFI:
CONOIL is the King of illiquidity.
What about Betaglass, Notore, Berger, DANGCEM, JBERGER, etc.

Someone was complaining about not been able to exit SEPLAT recently. Some of these big caps too can trap for many days. They have their movement periods too........

So, let's not continue to focus on Penny Stocks alone......and be quick to tag it and try to make it seems that someone is MH it to trap people.

The same Multiverse @13 is actually N1.30k if we consider the pre-construction period.
It was trading @0.20k/0.24k before the 1:10 (1 for every 10 held) reconstruction took place
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56: 11:13am On Mar 21, 2024
vacanci:
the problem is one can get trapped.
Imagine those investors in Multiverse who have been trying to come out for the past one month....
McNichols.....Mecure....

my advice to penny stock wannabe investors is to use penny amounts to buy penny stocks.

I learnt my lesson when i tried to jump out of one penny stock with N800K value to invest in an opportunity elsewhere. i remained trapped while the other stock which was a highly liquid one made 30%. As i speak, i am still trapped but the paper value has gone down drastically by about 50%.

As for me, i learn't my lessons
Let's correct one notion here: Hope you know illiquidity is not peculiar to penny stocks alone!

Could remember being somehow trapped in MRS at N12 with my tashere units and had to sell it off @13 or so due to illiquidity but today, that same MRS is trading at circa 100!

While you're very correct about illiquid stocks trapping, we should at the same time always have reasons for buying it.

What's the news surrounding it? What is FA saying? How does TA view it? Are you for short, medium or long term? Is result approaching and there's expectations of dividend payment, which will in turn increase activities in the stock, whereby you can exit conveniently? Is there any buyout/MTO/Merger news yet to be made public? Is there any special positive things driving it? Etc.

Now even if you buy it, what's your Plan B?
For instance, people were holding on to Sugar and Salt, not because of the financials but because of the Merger news in view.

If you notice that I didn't even mention JULI all thru.....it was because we don't know what's driving the share price.... someone somewhere was just using less than 200k daily to manipulate the share price.

So, you see, it's not enough to follow herds mentality but also do your DD if you know how to do it and don't be greedy with it.

PZ rose up to 40 and I'm sure some people would still be holding unto it, believing it will touch 100, later they may come to complain about being trapped as well. tongue

Thank you very much. The customer care representative also advise I don't select Direct Cash Settlement, so I picked Cash account
You're welcome.

This should be a reminder to everyone to check if their Trading Acct/ Portfolio is in DCS (Direct Cash Settlement) mode
* You can know this if it's CSCS that used to pay you each time you make sales in your trading account
* If it's in DCS, contact your broker to forward a DCS Form to you
* Indicate "NO" for Direct Cash Settlement.
* We've discussed this here on different occasions
* This is just a reminder*

Good afternoon, everyone
Please, I am trying to open an individual account with Morgan capital, but the last part shows which account I preferred between cash account or direct cash settlement.

Please, which is more appropriate so select. Thanks
DONT select "Direct Cash Settlement" pls

Direct Cash Settlement (DCS) means each time you sell, your fund goes to CSCS for settlement into your BANK account after T+3 days, you'll then have to keep transferring it back into your portfolio, which has lots of stress and disadvantages attached to it.

As for IEI, I am afraid of discussing it too much here for fear of MH label, and that explains why I somehow became reluctant in responding to posts about it..
IEI has experienced great turnaround and it's an Energy Insurance as well.....if not for the previous buyout discussion, it's a stock that shouldn't be selling below 2 in the short to medium term.

* Made over +100% PAT in Q4......this is great for an insurance that was in consecutive losses for more than 9yrs before Norremberger took over.

Someone mentioned some shareholders -ve fund or something, guess it's Fragel.
We should know Rome wasn't built in a day, with continuous efforts put in place to place it among industry leaders in the sector, think it's a matter of time when it will tick the box list +vely.........and, should Norremberger decides to stay listed, then it's an insurance stock to keep keen eyes on in a short to long term to come.
Lol. Na my opinion o. grin

Trading is cool for those that have the temperament. I used solely trading to grow 500k that I started trading with (after my NYSC) TO 4.5MILLION. This is exactly one year that I started trading. I thank God that I jam this platform, Mercy na ultimate. And Loco too
Well done bros/sis! cool
I actually believed this is very possible in a year.....even more than this........ especially with the situation of NGX market in the past one year.
* One of the key words "TEMPERAMENT"......and, timing as well as ability to cut your losses and move on as a trader.

Let's look at one or two instances:
* In a year ago, around this time, CHAMS for instance was trading at 0.22/0.25 range
* With 500k, you can conveniently pick 2M units
* CHAMS as at yesterday closed above N2! Even went as high as above N3 in the course of the year.
** N2 x 2M units will give N4M; while N3 x 2M will give N6M!!
** This is all still within a year! What about JP, CWG, Mansard, etc?
So, turning such amount to X10 was possible.
Even if you consider FA sound stock b/4 someone chip it in, go and check the price of NAHCO, SUGAR, SALT, Conoiil, MRS, TRANSCORP, Transco Hotels, IKEJA HOTELS, the Banks, etc in a year ago.

* It is well. smiley

While the rate of JIJO in bear is restricted and is more of hunting for good bargains, bull makes it much easier to enter/exit, even with little gains or small haircut, which can be collected back in another bullish one.
