My husband and I recide in Nigeria are we are Nigerians
The bias was so obvious as he showed no empathy nor intention to act upon the matter
Police officer named Browne did some investigation but said police can't force him to pay as he said he didn't have the money nor the source to get our money
So we with the lawyer now, a reputable lawyer and we pray God helps us
Thanks

Okay

Thought to share. Trump says if he wins, Nigerians will leave the US

http://www./posts/91538/

I don't believe he said that and don't believe everything you see online. I looked for the video of the rally and couldn't find it.

If you have the link to the rally, I mean video, please do share.

I know the man is brash and he seems to be the champion of some racists.

US is kinda funny when it comes to dealing with this kind of case
We were defrauded by a Camerounian with our evidences, we approached the FBI's office and presented all ( A VERY large sum) only for the officer to say FBI will prosecute financial crime of money reaching only 500,000USD as in their laws and the person involved had green card and is married to a Nigerian who is a US citizen.
We were advised by FBI to contact the state police, police did like they will investigate, wasted our time etc and gave stories...Again, they referred us to private lawyer, so we still on it
Very sad to find out how criminals are handled with kids gloves in America prolly becos we Nigs I dunno, but they were so heartless and unwilling to even do anything to this guy...They only called him and he bluntly admitted to all that was said and said he has spent the money, theres nothing he can do
We still on it and still hopeful, but United States authority are very very bad in handling stuff like dat..

What pained me the most was that the FBI officer said even Americans get scammed by Nigs in loves am and they never recover so that's it
Ours was a bizness gon bad kinda loss, he just decided to squander our money after previous successful transactions, not a yahoo thingy..

I'm sorry to hear about what that guy did to you but I want to know do you reside in the US? Sometimes, FBI gives bias to US residents in prosecuting cases like you mention.

The FBI agent you spoke to is just been lazy. He could have gone an extra mile to tighten the noose around the guy's neck to make him pay back even if it is installmentally else he would be charged for fraud.

Sometimes to pursue a case like a business gone bad you will need a lawyer and involve the local police department.

Thanks. Keeping the address for future purposes. As for CJ, the persons that will deal with him are warming up.

All you need need is to report the case and back it up with evidence. The man will regret scamming people. They will nail him hard.

so far, there are only second or third generation Nigerians in the US. I dont know where you're seeing a fourth generation.

Nigerians were not present in large numbers in the US prior to the late 1960s and earlier 1970s.

I opened a thread about this, let me look for it.

Alrighty, my bad. I will edit it but you get my point.

He is an American with a Nigerian name. In such a position,he is expected to have unquestionable loyalty to the U.S. Government.

He is an American with a Nigerian name. There are many ( second and third generation) that do not have anything to do with Nigeria apart from the fact that their parents are originally from Nigeria.

Some have never been to Nigeria in their entire life and don't want anything to with Nigeria.

We should stop deceiving ourselves about these 'Nigerians' because they are not.

Good for you however it will be wise not to encourage this form of self medication through the internet humans are bound to go the extreme.

Dont just jump into conclusion. you might not be lucky next time

It is advisable to see a doctor atleast for monitoring purposes and professional advise

Did you read the writeup? What self medication are you referring to?

They stopped feeding the baby soy beans and the symptoms slowly disappeared. Is that self medication to you?

They are illegal immigrants and once nabbed, na holding facility straight. So if one goes legally, there is no fear...and thanks for the clarification.

I just realized that this piece of news may have been somewhat startling. smiley I mentioned a while back that my tour is drawing to an end sad but that was several pages ago, so it's probably a good time to explain.

After three wonderful years here, it will soon be time for me to sadly move on to my next tour, a couple weeks from now. But I'll stay on Nairaland until my successor has arrived and settled in. This does mean that I won't be able to log on every day, and that questions about specific cases will all be directed to LagosIV@state.gov because I'll have no way of looking into them -- but I'll be glad to keep answering inquiries that don't require me to be physically present.

Let's continue the thread as usual for now (except that my attendance will become somewhat intermittent) and I will say a proper goodbye to everyone when it's actually time to say goodbye. In the meantime, back to work, everybody! All will be well.

Thank you Ms S. H. for all you have done so far. I will like to say God bless you and take you higher.

Hello House,

My travel date is finally here (tomorrow) and i have a little glitch. I have like $5k in my BOA account, $5k cash and want to buy more but the Banks are saying that i cant use my mum's ticket to buy now since her travel date is still in August.

As at today, black market is 226 and i think that is too high compare to 200 at the bank.

Can i just leave the naira in my account and print my statement? I reckon i am better off using GT card rate than buying black market.

Please, I need you to respond fast to the PM I sent you.
My email is yinkathomas@yahoo.com. Thanks

Go to a Police station and report the guy trying to blackmail you. Maybe buy food and drinks for the Police men so that they can "perform". The rest of it will be like action film, believe me. The blackmailer's life will never remain the same I bet you.

I have never liked America though for two reasons. One: they call themselves world power yet the country suffers from a high rate of unemployment. Two: the gun issue

Did you say high rate of unemployment? What is the rate of unemployment in the US? Some people just make up things...the rate of unemployment in Nigeria is low abi? SMH

Gun culture has it pros and cons, robbers can`t rob you like they rob anyhow in Nigeria cos they don`t know if the home owner has a gun or not.
