http - wonderful prayer, wish all the mothers and yours long life and good health. Our generation should learn from them - there was no selfishness in their spirit.

As a confirm Aje pako this was how my mum raise all of us from one husling to another, i pray to all hardworking mothers all over the world who goes thru different hardship to raise their children in this unfair world we are.
i thabk God for my mum even though i lost my dad at early age, she make sure to educate me up to the university and all of her children, though you are now in the 80s, i promised to continue to take care of you to my last dollar, i pray for more years on this earth for you to enjoy the fruit of your labour, Mami, i love you soo much.

To all the mothers in this hardship, i pray you enjoy the fruit of your labour; this is how heartless our rulers are, these are the people that deserve the national awards not those rogues.

Some of these girls are not worth the bride price. All the runs they have been doing, plus sugar daddy escapades, and all sorts of wayward lifestyle should make most Men think thrice. cheesy

Mr--Why for President!!

Well said "Mr--Why" perhaps someday soon some of what you said can be a part of our national psyche.
I always wonder how most of the truly wealthy people I have met in the USA are so simple and do not make any noise.
I guess the empty drum does beat the loudest - hence the corrupt people, politicians and their children from Nigeria make so much noise and show off.
Romance / Re: I'm SS (Victim Of Sickle-Cell Disease): Who Will Marry Me? by YoAdek333(m): 6:48am On Oct 16, 2011
There is no guarantee of living long or dying young whether SS or not.

I know several family members and friends that are in their late 50's with SS condition and some people not SS that died before 20.

A woman was even featured in a Nigerian paper a few years ago that was more than past 60 years old.

Recently a science journal mentioned a successful experiment with mice that reversed SS and the mice were able to make normal blood cells. In time I am sure a medical remedy will be found.

Only God and sometimes our conduct determine our time on Earth. Many SS men and women marry and raise a family but best to avoid marrying an AS. Wish you all the best.

Politics / Re: Do Not Legalise Prostitution – Mrs Abimbola Fashola by YoAdek333(m): 3:03am On Oct 13, 2011
Seems like "Ileke-IdI" has a problem with Nigerian men hence her frequent generalization. That aside it seems a waste of time to regulate something that self regulates and should ONLY be SELF regulating. Most prostitutes and most patrons practice safe sex. Though safe sex is really a much improved chance versus not wearing a condom, it is not 100%.

The safest sex is with committed partners who do not stray. Though the noisy minority of promiscuous men and women make the most noise, there are still plenty of women and men that respect their body and soul and do not treat it like a garbage bin.

Romance / Re: Are SS & Igbo Women More Beautiful Than Yoruba Women? by YoAdek333(m): 2:16am On Oct 08, 2011
Hmm,  I think some people get a kick from stirring up latent hostility between tribes or ethnic groups.  Thankfully the majority of Igbo and Yoruba people are sensible and don't subscribe to these type of ethnic bating.  Most people have relatives and in-laws from each tribe and are intelligent to judge people based on their character rather than ethnic background.

I see this type of post as a test rather than provocation.  It seems most comments on this post have taken the high ground rather than fall prey to an attempt to stir up negative comments.  For all we know the poster might not even be an Igbo or South South person just someone bating both groups to start hurling insults at each other.

My people please be cautious not to allow this type of post to affect our daily dealings with our brothers and sisters from other tribes.  We should continue to judge people based on their character and how they treat others.  Not based on silly tribalistic generalizations.
Culture / Re: Divorce Rate Among Yoruba Couples & Igbo Couples by YoAdek333(m): 9:39pm On Oct 06, 2011
Tribalism sucks! - Wish all my Yoruba & Igbo people well in their marriages and business.

This Quote Might Explain a bit:

"It is said that when manners are licentious, a revolution is always near: the virtue of woman being the main girth and bandage of society; because a man will not lay up an estate for children any longer than whilst he believes them to be his own."

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

The so called liberal views that we are copying in Nigeria and abroad has led to a situation most men think thrice about marrying - who wants wahala?
Politics / Re: About 20 Armed Robbers Robbed 2 Banks In Ilesha by YoAdek333(m): 12:58am On Sep 30, 2011
Why the tribalism? So sad, The criminal politicians are from all tribes, yet we common people fight among each other when we are brothers and sisters.

Abeg I have people in my family from all parts of Nigeria and we respect each other's culture and learn from each other.

Please let us stop this tribal baiting and insults in public and in private. We are the first to complain when other countries and races treat us bad, yet we mistreat and insult our fellow Nigerians.
Crime / Re: Murderous Wife Claims Her Late husband was Occultic by YoAdek333(m): 8:43pm On Sep 25, 2011
I agree 100% with the comments of "harakiri" and "4llerbuntu" above! If you marry a woman that goes to these extreme Pentecostal Churches or White Garment Churches, then you'll have another Man controlling your wife who claims to be a priest, when all the "prophet" really wants is endless stream of your money.

In a balanced marriage the husband and wife should be able to sit down and discuss with love, mutual respect and consideration all the issues regarding their family, in-laws and friends.

When a wife is consulting an Aladura or so called priest - then it is similar to a love triangle that will lead to problems. I for one will not even consider a woman for a wife that attends any of these churches. I want a balanced un-superstitious Christian woman that uses her brains to think and her heart to be considerate so we can work side by side as equal partners.
Politics / Re: State Of Roads In Rivers State (the Home Of Red Mud!) by YoAdek333(m): 6:15am On Sep 21, 2011
Like most of Nigeria no governance just elected and ministry thieves! I am sure multiple contracts have been awarded for these roads for the past 30 years and this is what we have to show for those inflated contracts.

I guess the people that benefited from the contracts can buy jeeps to reach their mansions located in front of this eyesore. Most elected officials should hang their head in shame.
Properties / Re: Architecture, Energy Conservation And Alternative Energy. by YoAdek333(m): 7:17pm On Sep 19, 2011
This is a great topic. Surely a pity that Nigeria with our abundant sunlight is not taking advantage of solar power as a supplement. It does not have to replace NEPA completly- but as a supplement. If a home or business uses CFL or LED lighting that will go a long way. Alse LED TV and Laptops can easily be powered/re-charged by solar energy. More households should practice more passive solar methods to reduce heat gain thereby reducing the need for A/C in the hot months.
Business / Re: 'RUNS' Business In Nigeria: A Multi-billion Naira Industry? by YoAdek333(m): 7:58am On Sep 18, 2011
Cuddlemii said it all!

We need more compassion as a society for all our people - especially our women, they are the mothers of our future. We men in my opinion are 99% to blame for the situation of runs girls. If you make employment based on sexual exploitation, school grades on sexual harrassment and so on. How do you expect things to get better. Remember you have mothers, sisters and perhaps daughters someday - do unto others ,
Celebrities / Re: Celebrities Who Bleach Their Skin by YoAdek333(m): 3:31am On Sep 05, 2011
Amazing that so called intelligent Nigerian People all over the world now call it "Toning" :-)

I wonder what the side effects of these chemicals will be in the future - also wonder if young girls that have not started "toning" will bother to read all the warnings - but maybe vanity is a God that is too powerful and must be served.  SOME women are irrational - they want what they want and will convince themselves that the side effects will not affect them.  Good luck!   undecided

Money and Sex are not the major motivation for most people - the questions are great and I think for MOST people (not all) it does cover some real issues that pop up in solid marriages.
Romance / Re: Girls: When Does 'toasting' Become Too Long? by YoAdek333(m): 2:29am On Sep 01, 2011
I think the OP is silly.  If you were not secretly enjoying the weird attention why do you have in as a friend on Facebook?  Come on you are not a teenager, if you don't like the attention then delete and block him from your FB account.  SOME women talk out of both sides of their mouth.

Politics / Re: Pix Of Ibadan Flood by YoAdek333(m): 10:03pm On Aug 28, 2011
Seems to me a problem of garbage piling up on the roads thereby blocking any available drainage left rather than flooding due to rain alone. I wonder if Ibadan is one of the more dirty cities in Nigeria. Just because people are not rich does not mean they should be untidy and dirty. I have seen some of my fellow Nigerians in the EU and US looking good and sharp dressed in public but their home is dirty and untidy. No wonder the streets back home are messy and dirty. Clean up the streets first then we can worry about the floods later.

Politics / Re: Benin-Ore Highway: Let's Show Our Govt Its Deplorable State by YoAdek333(m): 1:24am On Jul 31, 2011
Regardless of who is in office. Local politicians need to be held accountable for this mess. Obviously the roads are poorly built hence they fall apart quickly. Probably the contractors that need to "settle" many politicians and government senior staff charge more than 10 times what is typical in developed countries and then deliver 1% of the quality since most of the money is pocketed.

Also I am sure some people that get the contract are not knowledgeable about road construction. I don't see proper back-fill and base aggregate to support the heavy loads from trucks. I wonder about proper drainage for a tropical rain forest climate. Excuse me for thinking that the government officials care about a good job.

It seems government officials prefer awarding regular contracts to benefit a FEW in government while the entire society suffers. A society will never progress while personal and public corruption is pervasive! The ill-gotten gains from the neglect of our society will never benefit the politicians, corrupt ministry staff and their family. In fact it will bring woe unto to them and their ancestors.

Politics / Re: Nigeria In The 60s/70s. Sights And Sounds by YoAdek333(m): 10:59pm On Jul 21, 2011
Ileke-IdI - nice pictures.

The decay of the past 4 decades is testament to what happens when several people emulate the lowest in our society. The greed of our political leaders, is copied by the business community and on down. I remember the 'good old days' in the 70's when farmers and traders would place items for sale on the side of the roads with prices and with the owner absent people would stop, purchase items and pay correctly. The honor system was alive and well.

Now it is getting harder and harder to find that honor system. If people do not even keep the honor system in their personal relationships how can we expect that in business or government. An apple rots from the core. The result is everywhere to be see. Everyone wants the flashy car but on bad roads?! Everyone wants the fancy TV - but no electricity. The fancy bathroom finishes - but no water. Putting the cart before the horse I dare say.

God help us to help ourselves.
Health / Re: 300,000 Infected With Hiv/aids In Akwa Ibom by YoAdek333(m): 7:21pm On Apr 14, 2011
People that hold on to conspiracy theories on HIV/AIDS should continue having unprotected sex and see where it leads them. Pleasure without conscience will surely lead to pain without respite.
Romance / Re: Why Do Girls Wake Up At 27 Years by YoAdek333(m): 2:00am On Nov 10, 2010
Some of the comments made by men on this topic is further evidence of wickedness in our society.

I hope some of these men consider that they have a mother, perhaps a sister(s) and female family members - what goes around comes around, the way you treat others and the seeds of selfishness and inconsiderate conduct will surely come home to roost sometime.
