Seunn11: The ultimate debtor in this case is not FBN. They only need to pay on behalf of their client. If the client does not have money immediately, they might grant them a credit facility.
The money, when paid can only cause more trouble for the communities. It will also encourage other communities to seek court judgement in similar cases. However, it might increase environmental pollution as communities might deliberately cause sabotages of the oil facilities in their domain with hope of getting large payout via court.
This development needs to be examined thoroughly. Hopefully, the companies will not pull out. a good number of times that what is going on if thruth be told. that's why most times these companies are reluctant in coperating |

Parisfran: The money FBN has with CBN is not even up to the judgement sum. However, I’m sure the Auditors have since made a provision for this settlement. If they haven’t FBN shareholders will have to sue them. pardon my dumb question: is the money coming from fbn or shell pocket? shell should fund d account if d case is against shell. meanwhile even if those communities get d money they will still remain as backward as ever. it will only create some gods in d community. |

onegentleguy: Report reaching me has it that the planned EGM of ACCESS wherein the board intends to get the approval of its shareholders to raise funds via rights has been postponed untill further notice !! The meeting was originally scheduled to hold on Friday the 1st of February, 2019. According to my source, the reason for this postponement is still shrouded in secrecy(unknown)
Note however that this has nothing to do with the procedural phase of the merger/aquisation deal between it and DIAMOND bank. ...it's just the rights issue. Perhaps the management of ACCESS have seen that it would be difficult to market the said rights issue(especially to minority shareholders) if it went ahead with it at this time. This postponement will likely aide in putting more downside pressure on the price of ACCESS in the short term. However, if the motive behind it is to play out the bolded as I highlighted in my post above, then I expect the price of ACCESS to experience even more pressure. ...particularly in the short term. On the flip side, it could also be that some heavyweights might want to adopt the strategy of mopping up the coy from the floor. ...after all, in reality it would serve them better since ACCESS is now selling at a discount from its intrinsic/FVE if one were to consider its actual valuation post merger. ...and should this be the case, then I expect an upswing or at very least stability in the equity price of ACCESS.
Either way, DIAMOND wins in the near term until the merger deal is effected. We continue to observe !!
DISCLAIMER: NOT to be interpreted as any sought of recommendation. ...due diligence should still remain ur 1st priority. u should not have wondered far to know that they did that to wait for a clearer political sky |

Jejebabaa: Based on the deal and provided all things being equal, its best to buy Diamond. 7000 units of Diamond that cost 14,000 naira will give me 2000 units of Access + additional 7000 naira which will total 15,000 naira. A gain of extra 1,000 naira. After the deal, it will be a different story on what the market priced Access to be.
The only reason to buy access at 4 naira is if the deal is reversed. i think its a win win situation for those who can play fast. post merger access should naturally go up with a bigger balance sheet |

They vote who is credible even if its a vote against the blood brother.....AN IGBO MAN IS DEMOCRAT BY NATURE.... THATS WHY THEY DON'T FIT AND WILL NEVER FIT IN nigeria.... THAT'S WHY AM BOYCOTTING ELECTION that's not true. every part of Africa has tribal leanings in varying degree.. you could have said that they stand out as relpublicans. they rarelly have over all figure like d other groups. ImperialYoruba: Listen to his reasoning....how more democratic do you want him to go?
Democracy is not about constitution....its about numbers.
Buhari can get 198,000 votes just in Ereko ward in Lagos. That's less than the local govt sef.
Ibo has no shame. 198,000 in the entire SE?
You deserved your neglect under Buhari. You earned it with that figure. u should also consider that most people from that region don't really vote compared to southwest and north. u can go through d statistics. number of registered voters and those who took the stress to turn out to vote. they really don't have d passion and numbers. |

Let's wait and see how the request for a merger is treated in SEC and NSE when its finally fled. stock no go retrace again? |

Northeastern: Oga, it is not a privilege, it is called a parallel order when you are filling out a physical mandate. As long as your sale proceeds can fund the purchase, you should not have any issue selling and buying online or manually. Anything outside this is ojoro. u may have to debate this with some brokers sha. I still recall some painful experience with some brockers' Enterprise'. those guys ruined me those years. that was what made me to opt for me trading my self. some times when u send them mandate they will tell u we are not trading today the broker is on tour till 3 days time. the broker is on leave, the broker is sick, the broker just left the trading floors till tomorrow . even at a time when NSE came up with remote trading. coupled with regular practice of buying high and selling low. and they always have a wonderful excuse for u. some times I want to cry in my house |

DeRuggedProf: They have since made over 56% gain. Only those who are yet to sell MIGHT have some tough time depending on the details of the deal. They may even be on advantage. Let's wait to see how it goes. if it was a merger one would have expected the smaller entity to rally to catch up with d bigger entity. and d bigger entity share to slow down. though there will be panic selling |
