Hello bosses,

This is for those who are yet to get an update concerning their applications, please be patient. I am sure applications for fall are being looked into now. However, if yours is beyond the application processing time, please send a case specific enquiry to CIC, they would be in the best position to give you an update.

Secondly, this is to all silent readers who have submitted their apps or who are yet to submit. Please, if you have submitted, kindly update the house, so we can add it to the list of trv hopefuls. It is not when you have issues, that you will run in here and tell us to help. We will always do our best to help but please help others too by letting us know your timeline. Also, if you are yet to submit and you are a silent reader, let us know when you do too...

It will end in praises for us all....

The question is if you have applied to remain, not enter. Thinking about it more, I guess been refused entry at the border does not count as remaining in Canada. Been denied a visa also does not count as applying to remain in Canada. You have never entered Canada, so there is no way to have applied to "remain" there. That is why they also ask you if you have ever been denies entry to Canada. That is the one you should have checked yes. That said, no I do not think it will count as misrepresentation. They will know you never entered Canada, so there is no way to have applied to remain there. Worse come to worst, they will issue administration review request and you can explain that it was a mistake from your end.
the question is" ' Have you previously applied to enter or remain in Canada' so if you have been applied for a Canadian visa before your answer should be yes

Hello, I'm a silent follower for a long time now. I'm using a consultant in Canada for PR and when they were about to put us in the pool. I told them of mu husband's intention to process study permit, they quickly said they won't put us in the pool for now. we have to wait for the study permit to come out first. They applying at the same time is likely to affect the outcome. I am the principal applicant for the PR.

I just want to state the above. Just apply caution sha!
Exactly same thing my lawyer said.

The woman in question @forumlove is not the principal Applicant for the PR, her husband is the principal Applicant

Even if she was the principal Applicant it won't affect anything someone on this thread got his study permit and also got PR together..... I think it's in this part or the previous part of this thread!

So my there IMO it won't affect anything at all

@austinepee4 over to you wink
So when you are filling the student permit form the part that States have you ever applied to a remain in Canada, abeg what would your answer be?

Because if you are going to be truthful you would say yes and your description would be application for PR. or since they thread differently you would just say no abi.

When they can find out about other countries than it's now their own country they won't know..

Like I said i no be guru oh just using my common sense.

pls our elders in da house i need your advice here. I already applied for study trv hoping that God will show his strength on my behalf. At this same time exploring other avenues. my husband has been preparing his application for express entry and is ready to apply. my question is if he applies will it affect my own application as i have not gotten approval yet. can they connect the two applications as he is putting me as his spouse.
Am not an elder oh but I know PR application can spoil study permit application/visiting. Because you are trying to prove to them that you would return after school I.e. strong ties. So PR shows you want to remain there. So let him wait till yours is approved then he can put in the application

Hmmm that no 3 option is not as easy as it seems,

I was sent this letter twice,

The first time I choose that 3rd option and got a letter from bank that stated i the money available, the current balance and that I intend to use it for my studies. I also attached the CBN circular in it. I did this because if you read what CIC requested they did not ask the bank to include the clause that the money can be requested rather they want the letter from CBN. I did this and thought it was over but lo and behold, CIC wrote sent me another request letter and insisted that the bank should include the clause, they didn't ask for the CBN letter anymore.

I also thought this was not a problem and went to my bank to request for this letter that will include this clause but was shocked when none agreed to give me (GTB, Ecobank and Access bank)

I had no choice than to get a bank draft and pay my full year tuition. @ Ayoola you are lucky your bank gave you the letter.

I am actually happy that God was on my side and made CIC give the opportunity to get a second chance. I am sure that if it was not Him I would have been refused on grounds of insufficient fund.

That was why my timeline got up to 5 months but am grateful it ended in praise.

So at poster, if you have the money please get a draft
If you don't get the letter from the bank and insist they include the clause.
If you have a gtb account, go through your account officer. You would get the letter with the clause provided it's a current account

Hi Everyone
So a colleague of mine was refused study permit for Call 2016 and get profile is as follows
Bsc food processing and technology 2002
Work experience: A ground handling company at the airport
PA to the CEO 2005-2010
Manager Sales and Marketing 2010 till data
Sponsoring her self acc with 20000 Cad
Travel history
Us uk and Canada
Married with 2 kids but going alone
Proposed course of study. Integrated Aviation Management

She submitted all docs from birth certificates to employment referrence letters, to house documents, shares certificate and so on.

She applies for gcms notes which states her program of study in Canada is no consistent with previous study or employment history and not satisfied with the P.A. explanation as to why she wants to study it in canada and he is not satisfied the applicant is a genuine student.

My questions are
1. She works in the aviation industry as a marketing person so how is it that it's not related( if she were to be in operations would it be a better relationship)
2. She made a mistake in her application stating tuition as 4500 cad instead of 16500 cad but that didnt come up as a reason for denial
3. If she applies for a marketing course can it be sold?

Thanks in advance

Applying once in Canada for them to be approved to stay more than six months will require you to leave Canada and return. In essence, your children will need a visa. I say do it right now in Nigeria to prevent unnecessary complications. You have already told cic you are taking the children along with you, so why not proceed based on that premise and apply for visa for them right now.
Even if she applies for visa for them now a visa won't be stamped on their passport because they are Americans. Americans can apply to study at a Canadian border. Which means even if she decides not to include them in her application they can still get the paper's at the border. The only thing applying for them now would do is increase her finaincials. However if you had not already told Quebec you are travelling with your kids, would have advised you not to apply for them now until after you have recieved yours then change status. Because Quebec would send all your papers to the embassy. Going with babies is no issue but you need to have enuff funds. Also include that they would be put in daycare or day homes in quebec( nanny is very expensive). Day care/ homes per child is about 1000 cad a month per child. Do a little researh on day homes in Quebec and I also know students get subsided day care fees so explore that so by the time you are explaining to the VO how you would care for them, you would sound like someone that is prepared

Goodluck

@Austinpee4, this is my profile has u requested
Propose Program- MSc. space Physics research (although I wanted to applied for Phd but my supervisor asked me to put in for master with the hope of transferring to phd in my second year)
current qualification- BSc. and MSc.in Physics
work experience- more 5years experience as a transmission specialist in telecom industry(i.e I manages transmission equipment like vsat, microwaves etc, and my propose program in space physics is to investigate how atmosphere affects radio signals from satellite and transmission equipment)
Source of funding- got financial support from school($28000 CAD), Myself (3.5m), My uncle as co sponsor(with swear affidavit by a notary )
Landed properties document - for myself, uncle
My marriage cert, daughter and wife cert (pls note, they are not accompany me to canada is stated in the application)
My wife letter of introduction from her place of work and her pay slip to show she can cope when I'm away
My payslip
statement of intent
But my visa was deny due to purpose of visit and travel history.
I feel the VO would wonder why you are doing another Msc in physics. And for the work experience not related. My advice is to go for a higher level of education in physics and add in your SOP the relationship with your work experience. For travel history I don't know about that.

It actually takes approximately 23 business days to get the CAQ. You aren't adviced to call for follow up until after 20 business days.
Currently they are now on 30 business days. I called to ask that why its longer than 20 days, they said there are now delays and it would take 30 business days

I can only comment on the family related issue-
So far the course you are going for is related to your present occupation, its not a problem. I think you can sponsor yourself but make sure that there is a sworn affidavit from your husband that while you are gone, he will be responsible for your children's upkeep financially so they wont be any financial burden on you. Do not include any of your family in your application. its a very strong tie. I left my daughter back home when I came because she is a US citizen and doesn't need a visa. Make sure you attach their birth certificates and passport pages. Attach their school admission letter and their school fees receipts to show that they will be in school when you are gone. Its very important. I did that. In my SOP I wrote that my mother will be taking care of my daughter and they will visit me whenever I am on summer vacation. They want to see plans you have made for the children you are leaving behind.
Thanks for your response. Would include your suggestions in my application. Would like to chat with you privately if you don't mind.

I honestly do not know the procedure to retrieve original document(s) submitted to CIC. I know the only ask for photocopies because they will not be returned. I also understand that when an applicant insist on adding an original document, a form is given to fill by VFS officials as a willing decision by applicant to add such document as against the visa office instruction.

So you may want to contact VFS office to find out how you can retrieve your original document.
When I applied for Visiting Visa, paper route) they returned every document except those addressed to the high commission. They would not accept original docs like birth certificate, degree certificates, waec and so on. Only photocopies

3.as at today the processing time is 14 weeks but it can be approved before then
4. it's not an issue at all.

To answer your 1st question, you have to convince the visa officer on y u suddenly chose to study that particular course, since it doesn't relate to ur first degree and ve bn working for years and financially stable, that can be explained in your statement of purpose or letter of explanation.

To ur 2nd question, you don't need an external sponsor, if u are financially capable to sponsor yourself all through ur degree programme that is tuition plus living expenses included.

To your 3rd question, the average processing time for visa processing in Nigeria is about 14wks, so u need 2 kick off ur application as soon as u can.

I don't really understand ur 4th question, d question isn't very clear

Thanks for your response. The fourth question was my kids have US Passoport and hubby Canadian visa. Can this affect my application
