If bamidele was for internal democracy he should have insisted on having a primary in 2011 too right?

ACN party chifs have told anyone who cares to hear that they select candidates by consensus. Its simple, Anyone who doesnt like it can either petition INEC or go to another party

dayokanu:

Has Tinubu flouted any law of the Land? before any of his family became office holders, It was made open that ACN DOES NOT CONDUCT PARTY PRIMARIES. And people raised no dust over this.

When Bola Ige was alive I heard it was Funsho Williams that won the AD primaries and the leaders selected Tinubu to be the party flag bearer.

I also heard in that same 1999, Staunch Awoist selected Falae to the the flagbearer and no election was held.

But Tnubu is doing the same thing that has been going on for a while and he suddenly becomes the evil one

So you are saying the electorates dont determine elections in Nigeria?

Assuming what you say is true and Tinubu is the sole determinant, So what stops him from appointing another loyalist to the throne or what is this argument all about? Or are we saying Tinubu should be Magnanimous and select another person to run not his wife

I knew Tinubu had the Ticket for Lagos central Senatorial district in 2007 and he gave it to/ stepped down for Ganiyu Solomon.

He had d ticket or attempted to hijack d ticket from Solomon ? If not for those that lectured Tinubu on d implications. Anyway, soon all of Tinubus children will be overlords over lagos. That is how progressives rule in Nigeria. Imagine if he becomes the President of Nigeria, her daughter will automatically become d Iyaloja of Nigeria.

KINGwax: iyalaje has alwys been by influence, wealth, and not election. What are u people ranting abt?
As a yoruba entity, u shld knw dt the post of iyalaje is a political appointment where the King decides who presides over the office.

And if the interest of the market will be considered, then who else will be a better option to bring influence and govt attention?

She has been in the market since d days of her mother. She is a trader that has travelled far and wide. This is not a matter of age.

In abeokuta, the iyaloja was a toung rich lady, and the iyalaje was alaba lawnson who doesn't even av a market. This was even years back!

We need to be informed.
In traditional Yoruba society age has always been a criteria for leadership among market women. A small girl with greed wants women old enough to be her mother's mother kneelling for her . Pity, things are gradually being turned on its head. I wonder how Awolowo will feel in his grave.

Symphony007: Rubbish! Do this people know the meaning of priorities? They are building a bridge in a areas which will have little or no economic impact in nigeria but there is no road connecting port harcourt to bonny island, the location of the largest oil terminal in west africa, largest LNG plant in africa, the only plave in nigeria that has uninterupted power supply. Do you know what a road linking it to port harcourt will do for the niger delta economy? Yet they keep doing lip service for years. Common sense is not common.

Samilo88: 1Did I hear you say ibeno is of no economic importance? Please before you come to a public forum to say anything always get your facts right. Qua iboe terminal QIT is located in ibeno and they belong to ExxonMobil's operational area which accounts for about 40% of nigeria's oil production.

take dat: Having a "National" Opposition Party is an asset to our democracy irrespective of it being a replica of PDP. Those who tend to demonize the entire political process and participants, should either join one of the two parties in order to dislodge the old and recycled heads or form a brand new party which will be made of "saints and perfectionist"! cheesy grin
So,this is d best they can come up with. Which means they dont have their own people. APC winning d 2015 elections is only predicated on PDP crises- d Ameachi saga, Tambuwals likely defection and so on.All their game plan is on outsourcing from PDP-the party they are opposing. Is that how US Democrates win elections - outsourcing to The Republicans? I'm not asking you to insult anybody, just stating that we are all entitled to our opinion insult or no insult.

If you respect GEJ because his your president and because his policies affects your daily life, but others are entitled to different opinions based on his policies and their negative effects on their lives. Me personally,

I deeply see him and his policies as nothing but gross insult and unbearable burden on me and many millions of other Nigerians and the fact that insulting this man is not limited to NL, it's right their on the streets of Nigeria, it's on FB right their on his page, it's on twitter and basically everywhere, even the speaker of the Nigerian NAS and the 3rd man in line just yesterday lambasted and insulted him openly on the floor of NAS so what you are complaining about here on NL sounds very very meager.

It's very obvious that the man deserves whatever insults he gets because Nigerians put him in office to take care of the millions of problems facing us and make our lives better, but not to keep engaging in petty and endless squabbles and fight with everybody like a damn market woman with nothing better to do, at least market women still sells and make profit, but what are we gaining from all his silly animosities against the same people he swore to serve and protect?

How is all the endless noise and fixation on NGF helping the average Nigerian? Is this part of his job duties and description? The man is obviously not respecting himself so he derives every insult he gets..

Bottom line, feel free to express yourself including your respect and admiration for the man, but let others express their opposite views too insult or no insult.

See u ! You think u can get to Jonathan by insulting him. It shows how short-sighted some Nigerians are. After u have rained all insults on ur President on a forum viewed by foreigners all over d world, why will they not call u names - apes that live on trees, monkeys and so on.Every time u insult your country's president u are insulting yourself, becos he represents u in d comity of nations for as long as he holds d office. Next time u are Hearthrow Airport and whites castige u and push their probes into ur ass looking for nothing, just dont complain becos u have told them on nairaland how "useless" u people(nigerians) are. There is a difference between criticizing and passing insults. Insults only put d one being insulted on d defensive but constructive criticism brings out d best in most people. Moreover, the fact that other people are doing something does not justify u doing same.Americans and Britons fiercely criticize their leaders not insult them. Or maybe Nigerias problem is not only that of bad leadership but also that of dis-oriented uneducated/misapplied university graduates who think they have arrived.

ballabriggs: All these talk about the NGF being 'unconstitutional' is totally stupid. The constitution guarantees the freedom of association and nobody can take this right away from us.

If the Governors deem it fit to exercise this right by way of the NGF, nobody has a right to stop them from doing this. And this is what they want. They want to have a hold of their forum where they can share knowledge and information; and not have one drunk man from Aso Villa determine how they choose to associate.

Good move Raji Fashola.
It is d same freedom of association that Jangs faction is relying on. Must Jang and others be forced to be under Ameachi if they dont want him. Why cant Ameachi call his own meeting with his faction and pursue whatever agenda that they have ? Must d court force people to belong to a faction against their wills ?

Dude, what is wrong with you? I know you are shameless but don't you know when to eat humble pie and remain silent? Did you take in what is written below, exposing the amateur antics of Abati, before showing your face here? Every sensibly ambitious fan of the President will concede that what is revealed below represents unacceptable incompetence that sends out the clear message of how GEJ is surrounded by dullards and cretins who are second best to others. We must conclude you are included in that category as well with how you cannot see that Abati, based on what is written below alone, has come off a very poor second best against Fashakin despite his uncouthness and gutter-like lack of refinement.

The opposition in Nigeria is only interested in mundane issues like why did d pres go to d toilet now, instead of engaging d president on nigerias no 1 problem - corruption. Oh, maybe they are no better when it comes to that. They know by exposing Pdp they too will be exposed. Seriousely, it just occured to me that for d 13yrs ACN has ruled Lagos not one political office holder has been indicted, arrested, prosecuted - not one. Yet taxpayers monies are being used to build estates by these peoples. The commisioners, lawmakers, LGAs are having a field day in Lagos - right under d nose of progressives. Lagos laws are only for common thieves, not political thieves.

playmode:

1. What records Please list the projects he has flagged off and how many he has completed. No seriously please list them because i am am ignorant of such information and will like to be enlightened.

2.This is not an excuse,i never liked the previous administrations either. If i was president i would not build a 700MW Dam when i have more than enough money to build a bigger dam.In civilized countries ,they plan infrastructure based on population growth and needs. They don't look back and refuse to build infrastructure because the previous Government did not.My point is that we can EASILY afford bigger power plant and we seriously need them so the patriotic thing to do is to commit at least 70% of our annual income to building power plants.

President Zuma is barely educated yet he is building six power plants ,two of which will be generating at least 4000MW in South Africa for a population of 50 million people with $37 billion while our Ph.D holding president is building 700MW plants for a population of 160 million which growing rapidly.Do you not see something wrong there It is like trying to fix a tyre leak with chewing gum instead of fixing properly at a "vulcanizer".

Here are some questions i want you to answer truthfully:

How many Hospitals has he built in Lagos ,Abuja and Port harcourt?

How many old hospitals has he upgraded and re equipped with modern equipment?

Why does he and his wife travel overseas to get treatment while the president of South Africa gets treatment in a South African hospital?

How many roads has he built and completed?

How many old roads has he upgraded completely?

How many Airports out of the 30+ he promised to build has he completed?

What notable infrastructure has he built in Lagos,Port Harcourt and Abuja since becoming President?

How many low cost housing has he built for Nigerians?

Why did he contract a foreign company to spy on Nigerians?

Why did he add a bogus $21 million to the isreali spy contract?

What has he actually done to the benefit of the average Nigerian?

Why did he pardon a corrupt politician?

Why is he supporting Jang who lost the NGF elections?

Why is he so corrupt and worse than all his predecessor?

What has he done with the minimum of $150 billion dollars Nigeria has earned since he became President?

What did he do with the $35 billion Obasanjo left in our foreign reserves, the money just disappeared, where did it go to?

Are Nigerians better off than they were 3 years? If your answer is yes please tell us how they are better off?

Do we have stable electricity or total black out?

How many of his election promises has he fulfilled?

Has he fixed Nitel and do we have land lines?

How many drainage systems has he fixed?

So, S/A is just building power plants to be completed in 2015 ? Despite all its resources when compared to Nigeria. After d following have rule : Mandela, Thambo Mbeki and now Zuma. Now i understand power infrastructure is not a joke world-wide. Well, if Jonathan can do all he has done in 2years he actually deserve some commendation. If it were that easy d Great Mandela would have done it in his first term. Indeed,a prophet is without honour in his hometown.

Symphony007: your arguement would have made sense if rivers people actually saw the benefits of giving jonathan the most votes in 2011. Rivers federal roads are death traps,he has never visited the state since he came to campaign in 2011..rather he is fighting the state governour and giving rivers oil well in soku to his home state of bayelsa. Aneachi does'nt need to divide south south. Jonathan is already doing a good job with that.
I laugh when i hear this kind of analysis. Do u think it is intelligent for Jonathan to go and do N/D roads and leave that of other regions knowing fully well that d needed resources cannot go round immediately? Dont u think if it were that simple then senators and reps from Rivers would have inserted it into d budget esp now that d NASS has started rewritting what d executive proposes. As we speak d total monies going to Rivers is times 3 what most other states are getting. And very soon it might become times 6 courtsey of d PIB bill put forward by Allison Madueke to d NASS.That is how to work for ur people indirectly. N/Deltans know this and they understand d game. They know Jonathan is changing d system to favour them. Let their govs use d monies well as Akpabio has done.

Politics they say is a game of interests. Ameachi has shot himself in the feet.Even if he decamps to APC what can they offer him? How many PDP members is APC going to give d Presidency/ VP to - Tambuwal,Rochas, Oshiomole, El-Rufai, Sule Lamido, not to talk of d sponsors themselves Tinubu and Buhari who are d puppeteers. What Ameachi did at d NGF election has serious implications for d party more than for Jonathan. It meant Ameachi was more interested in his ambition and cared less of d disgrace it brings to his party. And no party worth its salt would stand back and do nothing. It was hightime Pdp put its house in order. Everybody wants to be an Oga in pdp and everyone in a ship cant be captain at d same time, otherwise d ship will sink.A message would have gone to other governors to sit-up. The earlier pdp start enforcing discipline within its rank d better. What pdp formally lacked was a leader like Tinubu whom everybody in ACN defers to but this has now been filled by Anenih. And i have no doubt Anenih is up to d task.

thelastpope10: I told some funny chaps commenting here the other day that Amaechi was on a fools errand. It didnt matter if he won the NGF election or not. What he is playing is dangerous politics.

Politics 101

1. Never Isolate your support base. The SS and SE will never betray GEJ and vote for someone else, just because Amaechi is his running mate. That is just fantasy

2. Never play your cards too early. ACN and CPC have played all their cards too early. If anything, they have simply showed PDP what they need to put right before 2015

3. Never underestimate your opponent. Amaechi is probably listening to those who call GEJ clueless and will be shocked. If a man goes from Deputy Governor to President, there is something he is doing right. That he doesnt try to achieve things by being brash and arrogant doesnt mean he doesnt know what he is doing. So far, he hasnt lost any battle. That means his methods are working.

4. Always understand the political terrain. Here is one place Amaechi has failed woefully. The north never joins opposition. The worst scenario is that they will try to strike a deal with GEJ to see how they can come back after he lives. They will not do opposition. The PDP governors in the north will not submit themselves to Tinubu and Buhari and loose out their current power base. It wont happen. The SS will not betray their own. The south west will only do a block vote if APC presents a Yoruba candidate. But that is not likely because APC was formed to pave way for a northerner. If APC presents a SW candidate, they will not get much vote from the North. Amaechi apparently is not a smart politician. He is probably listening to people like Rochas, Fashola or Oshiomole urging him to do what he is doing but when the chips are down, he will be left in the cold like Mama Bimbo's cold turkey wings! Skinless, frozen and ice cold wet!

Ameachi, a green - lawyer, is currently receiving midnight lessons from Fashola on how to get his SANship. That gives him more fun than safeguarding d interests of N/Deltans. cheesy cheesy cheesy

People are watching an have'nt seen anything he has done to jonathan to warrant this harrasment. Even the so callef vice presidency he is aiming for, there is no single poster of his campaign in the entire niger delta.

Rivers people are watching, some pDP members are watching. Jonathan rewarded the biggest thief governour in nigeria odili, by making his wife a supreme court judge, a man who brought untold hardship to rivers state. While he is purnishing the man who is doing in a few years what odili could'nt in 8 years. People are watching and when jonathan goes too far, he'll know ameachi is'nt alone afterall.
How will d S/S benefit from this dispensation when they are divided against themselves. A house divided against itself will not stand.
