CGFNS that verifies Nigerian nurses' license, educational background, etc for USA state nursing boards have waived license verification for Nigerian nurses wishing to practice in the US as a result of the issue of stoppage of verification of Nigerian Nurses licenses by the Nigerian Nursing Council.


As a Nigerian Nurse wishing to practice in the US, you must pass Nclex-rn exam and before you can qualify to write the Nclex-rn exam, you must verify your Nigerian nursing license, educational qualification and work experience via cgfns, but since Nigerian Nursing Council under the instruction of the President of Nigeria has stopped verifying Nigerian Nurses license for foreign bodies as a way of stopping Nigerian nurses from migrating abroad to work, US State Nursing Boards decided to waive the part for Nursing license verification for Nigerian registered nurses.


But this does not mean that you wont write Nclex-rn exam again, you will still need to write and pass it before you can practices as a foreign nurse in the US.


They only waived the part where you need Nigerian Nursing Council to verify for them that you are a registered nurse in Nigeria, but you will still do the other verification parts like: verifying your nursing education in Nigeria via sending your transcript, verifying your work experience as a nurse in Nigeria too.


What they waived is the part for verification of nursing license from Nigerian Nursing Board only
