How can one even be sure that when this same EFCC brings its case up against OBJ, these same Nigerians will not claim that it is being selective because OBJ and Yar'Adua are no more in league. Real nonsense talk some people are talking here.

"When March 31st came a great number of members of international Press came to Enugu, fully expecting a declaration to secede. Instead Ojukwu announced he was issuing a a Revenue Edict to use all Federal Revenue collected in the East as a means of paying for the rehabilitaion of refugees. Oil revenues were not affected, as these were collected in Lagos. The peorters were stunned: they had expected fire and brimstone; instead they were getting a fiscal measure. Some asked Ojukwu about secession. Mildly he told them he would only lead the East out of Nigeria if the East were attacked or blockaded."
Gowon imposed his blockade early in May. It was the final straw. On May 26th 1967 the 335-memeber Consultative Assembly in Enugu gave Ojukwu a mandate to pull the East out of Nigeria.

One of the questions that never fails to arouse curiosity is: Why were the Aburi agreement not implemented by Gowon

Dynast:
Naturally and biologically women has more concentration of nerve on their ears, hence their is more circulation in there.Thats why women are more enticed or wrapped up with what they hear just as men have more nerve concentration on the eyes and such they are engulfed by what they see;thats why you fall in love with a beautiful girl more than an ugly girl.Occasionally lies are painted, well spiced and ornamented such that it sounds so sumptous, captivating and thrilling and thats why women fall for lies more than truth just as some men get infatuated or fall in love more with a beautiful girl than a well grommed ugly girl. WE all live in the world of fantacy but at different instances
Hmmmm. . . . still searching for my "modern biology" text book to authenticate this theory grin

A sweet wind of change indeed.

What about the release yesterday of Lagos State's 10bn LG funds. A big plus!
Not only that . . . what of the stern warning from the Presensidency that any public officer who disobeys court order will be dealt with, they must first vacate the court order before embarking on any action even if it means going all the way to the surpreme court to vacate such an order.

Indeed a sweet wind of change. cheesy

Bluestar was only trying their best. When you offer these facilities on the international market, the counter offers are far lower than what Nigerian Companies offer. Yet Nigerians still claim that they are being scammed.
No denex,

Nigerians are not claiming that they being scammed, they simply stated that Bluestar committed Blue murder!

According the slain manager of the Kaduna refinary, the amount BS bought the refinenary is only equivalent to the cost the spare parts in the warehouse only.

The public hearing conducted by the House of Reps. revealed also that the consultants hired by BPE for the sale of the refinary did not visit the refinenary physically to value it. They valued the refinenary right in their office in Abuja.

Who is fooling who?

It is also worthy of note that the myth of Igbo coup became fashionable to 'justify' the July coup, which beyond doubt had no particular political philosophy but was extremely ethinical.

All those taking part, senior officers, junior officers and soldiers were northerners and all the victims were easterners, except Fajuyi the one Yoruba.

ono:
I have tried, using available facts at my disposal, plus rational thinking to simulate the events in the country that led to the Biafran War. I have a reasonable match in the end. I have read books on the war. I have also read several articles written in the past on this war. And like you, Laudate, said earlier, Ojukwu has consistently maintained an ominous silence on the role he played to execute that war. So are many of his Igbo brethren who partook in the war. I wonder why they do not want to say anything. Could it be that they admit they were at fault? So far I have painted the picture of that war as I see it. If anyone has any disputable facts to present, let him/her do so without making snide remarks or making derogatory statements about me, my tribe and my people in the Delta.
Maybe you can take me back to those few occassions where had to quanta- argue, Did I budge in the end?
Ono,

You certainly cannot eat you cake and still have it.  tongue

What a liar you are!! What book about the war have you read? You absolutely have read nothing!  For your information, Ojukwu and several other Igbo leaders have consistently told their story about the war.

Sure you haven't read "Because I am Involved" It solely the story about the war as seen by Dim Ojukwu.
Have you also read "Emeka" by Frederick Forsyth? It is a powerful moving story authorised by Ojukwu himself, written by the renowned author of The Day of the Jackal, Odessa File and Devils Alternative

Please always check your facts before cranking your leprosy infected fingers on your keyboard.

I have followed with keen interest all the posts in this thread. I strongly want to commend the efforts and contributions of people like Afam, Mckren , Angel101 et al in exposing the lies and twists that has been continually attempted by Ono and his irks to foist on us.

It has become fashionable in the re-writing of Nigerian histroy to which so much effort has been given to describe the January 1966 coup as being racial in intent and execution. The record shows just the opposite.

Major Nzeogwu was a left-wing radical and a Marxist, buthe was no racialist. Far from hating the North, he loved it, and the Northern soldiers he commanded. During his coup, three senior Northern officers were killed, Brigadier Maimalari and Cols. Pam and Largema. Two Yoruba senior officers were killed and two Igbo Majors. The key Igbo officers in infantry posts, Ironsi and Ojukwu were marked for death.

It is ironic that the Igbos were later blamed as a nation for that coup. Five Igbos led it, supported by officers and troops of all the regions. Two Igbos broke it, one in the south (Ironsi) and the other in the north (Ojukwu), more than any other officers in the Army. The victims were, among the politicians, two northerners, one westerner, one mid-westerner; and among the army officers three northerners, two westerners and two easterners.

The need to put the record staright is a task that must be done, because alot of people are reading the hate being reeled out by Ono and his co-haters.

Peace
