Politics › Re: Yar'adua Declares His Assets by youngies(m): 2:15pm On Jun 29, 2007
McKren:
Well I have been unable to trace the source in the leadership archive where I once read it.

But am sure I read it when an ANPP chieftain in Katsina stated how much he declared in 1999 and accused him of awarding state contracts to family owned bussinesses in the run up to the elections.

However it looks like I misplaced the figure, it may not be 150million but approximately 500million. If the latter is the case then may be am not being fair to him. As his latest figure of 900million will mean he made 400million in 8years as Governor of Katsina (average of 50million annually).

But then people must realise that the act of asset declaration should not be used as a means of political spin nor should the asset declaration form be percieved as certificate of good character. It should rather be a reference or benchmark for which we will in future access our leaders. So people should be more concerned scrutinizing the details rather than eulogising the act.

However because he made history as the first President or Head of State to have done that, and not giving into the senseless spin that "Asset declaration must not be made public" (God knows what the word declaration means as Femi Falana will have it).

So on this note I think the act is commendable.
@McKren

I respect you alot, for you sure know when to bow to superior argument . . . and the point you were making - very sound and clear

Politics › Re: Adedibu & Alao Akala Madness In Oyo State by youngies(m): 1:11pm On Jun 27, 2007
It is very unfortunate the madness that has been allowed to go on in Oyo State unchallenged. But I bring a message of hope to Oyo people. Darkness might dwell for a while, but surely there will be joy at dawn.

Their time is ticking so fast, and they are busy without knowing it knoting the ropes that will be used to hang them (Adedibu and his side kicks).
Family › Re: Help Me Find My Dad by youngies(m): 12:53pm On Jun 27, 2007
@incey

It is not always very easy to find a missing person when the person does not want to be found. From what I deduce from your story, your mum who is a filipino married a man from northern Nigeria. I guess that probably the relationship the man had with your mum didn't end well.

If that is the case, the man probably if he is still alife has resettled himself with another family. Finding him will stir a lot of things up, hence the reason why he might want to evade detection.

But if you must go the extra mile of finding him dead or alive, then you must need more than just a name. You surely will need a photo and other details to track him down faster, that is if he still answers Muhammed Bala Hassan.

Good luck in your search  wink
